I'm the critter (Jolls) that @Fu Manchu spoke of earlier. I have put a VZ BCM into my VY and linked it all together. We are currently doing the same to a VZ Crewman. Changing from V6 to V8 (that we pulled out of our written off VZ that came from our written off VY - both to roos) . The BCM shoudl work fine - you will probably find a few modules missing as it is a lux in a ute with climate control is a mid. So a matter of selecting the right settings for the SRS using the Tech 2. With mine the Tech 2 now registers it as a VZ but everything works. My Vident scanner (that I linked them with) doesn't care and just registers it as such . I don't expect that there is really any difference because the TACM is a separate harness component so it just registers that it isn't there and disregards it. What you will need do do is check the correct number of airbags and that should be about it. Let me know how you go getting the harness in - I'm about to go through that pain and would love to work off the back of your experience. If I get there first I'll from you a line. Cheers n Beers Jolls

Hi jolis, thankyou very much for all that information that is exactly what I needed to know. I think you will get there before me as I am just gathering parts while they are cheap enough. Thankyou once again and yes please let me know how you go.

I love your thinking. It’s a question long been asked if it can be done. Intermittent wipers and climate conversion.
My Crewman dash harnesses are the same as sedan with boot button in glove box blanked. Wires are there.

Yeh with the information you have given me I reckon I can program my existing BCM.

Whoops. My bad. It’s a thread by Jolls titled BCM and Slip ring in the VY section.
He went through hell with it all and learnt a lot.

“So just to finalise this thread,
VZ BCM with working key has been linked to the VY PIM/PCM. The only issue is that the Tech 2 doesn't recognise the BCM as being compatible with the VY. If the Tech 2 is loaded as a VZ - no problems.
The Vident scanner doesn't care about the BCM it recognises it and was able to link the PIM and PCM no problems.
I did not need to get a key for the VY BCM so I haven't tried the Vident scanner for cloning keys - but I will.”

Thanks one again. I,m still very optimistic.

There’s a guy on just commodores that recently did a VZ swap into and VY (V8). What he found was that VY and VZ BCM’s are interchangeable between VY and VZ. He had an issue with the VZ BCM and used the VY BCM. Had to do a bit of work with Tech2 to set it up but it was doable.
Why not get the rear AC ducts (from sedan) and direct the air into the underside of the seat? Semi cooled or heated seats.

Have you got all the factory manuals? They will have the pinouts etc

    • @mwoods2062
      @mwoods2062  Před rokem +1

      No, I don't have a factory one

@@mwoods2062 Hold my beer. I’ll set up a link on Just Commodores. I’ll post it in the VY section. Title “VY workshop manual”
I’ll leave it there for a few days.
I can’t post a direct link though. You don’t need to be a meme we to view it. Just go to the VY section. Should be in the first 5 or 6 threads.
