This will erase the device and its passcode or disabled locks that are stopping you from using the device.
1. Disconnect all cables from your device.
2. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button, then "slide to power off" to turn off your device.
3. Press and hold the Home button and plug the device into your computer. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on. Don't release the Home button.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
5. If iTunes doesn't open automatically, open it. iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
6. Click OK. Then restore & update the device.
If your device doesn't go into recovery mode, try steps 1-4 again.

Yeah, it happens, passcode was set up on my wife's old iPhone 4S. But her work would make her change the passcode bi weekly. Hence not remembering.

press the home button (hold it in) As soon as youve done that put in ur charger while ur holding it in! and volah then it turns on and you can put ur password in :)

If you know your details - then ok, now your iphone if on fresh software and good working. If not - you encountered a dead end.

this is what the problem is, if your iphone says 'iphone disable connect to itunes' then it will not work for you. this is why you get the message mid download saying you need to know the password. luckily if ur iphone isnt fully disabled and you have some attempts left then it will work! hope this helped give it a like

Hi, I have recently updated from iPhone 6to iPhone 12 pro max and I did the smart Apple air to air transfer successfully but somehow my old iPhone 6 was stuck and got locked in "transfer mode" time remaining estimating 1min "....!
I tried all sorts of advice from different advises on youtube including hard reset, to iTunes restore and update and nothing worked until now ...!
iTunes reset failed because the phone would not restart and give me access to cancel, "find my phone ....."

if its not an apple laptop or mac it wont open. I have windows so I went searched up iTunes for windows 10 and it worked and I was able to connect my phone and restore. I'm currently waiting tho
