@@MrNeilandioIn some video games like Deus Ex we have to holster our weapons otherwise friendly NPCs will turn hostile. Sometimes it's dependent on the area.
Others like COD or Half-Life 2 don't allow us to holster but will automatically point the muzzle of the gun down when the crosshair goes over a friendly.

In NV for example if you have 10 luck, you can look through a pile of trash and well what a suprise, is a brand new antimatirial rifle.

The writers get that Fallout is supposed to be *WEIRD AF* it's gritty but in a dark comedy way.
Fallout is very heavily a satire along side of the dark and depressing stuff. They made fun of how over the top the Red Scare was. Liberty Prime is a giant overly patriotic robot. People trading with bottle caps post apocalypse. Not to mention all the silly dialogs you can pick (in Fallout 1, if you have low INT, you literally talk like a caveman). Im glad they keep the satire and goofy side of Fallout and didnt make it into a doom and gloom adaptation.

As dark and gritty the series can get in the story, in the end the real entertainment is in the comical situation the player characters are thrust into and forced to survive in this shitty world
@@Aliens1337 There is plenty of social commentary in it. Capitalism Critique related to power of the few rich but also who will survive in case of catastrophe (fill in nuclear war or climate change or whatever) and who has to deal with the fallout. There definitely is a anti war subtext as well.

Fun fact, bethesda released the stats for the characters in the show and Lucy sits at a nice 8 in perception, fitting with how well she’s able to pick up on surviving the surface.

My favorite Lucy moment is “Golden Rule motherf**ker”. I’m surprised that hasn’t become one of her biggest highlight moments yet.
Yeah, I loved that moment too. In my opinion, it perfectly shows that while the wasteland has hardened her, she won't let it make her as heartless as the Ghoul/Cooper.

"She steals dads!!" That got a hearty laugh from me and my parents, this show has such a great quality of capturing Fallout humour and blending their own take on it
Genuinely better comedy writing than Fallout 4. The Sole Survivor has too many “Erm, akshually, awkward turtle!” moments, while almost all of these moments are played completely straight.
Love how she never cried despite all the bullshit thrown at her, but shed tears when she learned the story of her parents.

Lucy is basically an Wes Anderson charackter, put into an world that is the equivalent to what would happen if Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez and Ridley Scott had a child. And I couldn't have wished for an better adaptation for Fallout as an tv series.

One thing i really love is that despite everything she saw and went through she never become a full on cynical person, hell, throughout the entire season she only ever said ONE curse word, it's like the other person here said, she's like a Wes Anderson character that got stuck in a Quentin Tarantino's wet dream

My favorite thing about Lucy is she's somehow the best thing that's happened to Maximus and The Ghoul in a very long time.

It's a really neat piece of storytelling that Maximus didn't even consider that they would just let Lucy go and the fact they did floored him, it speaks volumes for the difference between the real world and the vault.
One thing that I always thought was a bit funny was how in the games the Vault Dweller you play is always ready to just take on the world all gung-ho. Lucy I feel is a a more accurate example of how a sheltered vault dweller would ACTUALLY respond to the horrors of the wasteland
But in Fallout 3 you learn about the wasteland on the vault

04:42 i absolutely love this scenes, how Lucy naively gave solution and all of them follow it, give a hint of hope that humanity is there and HUMAN doing HUMAN thing in a apocalypse world, plus THE music gave the viewers warm and hope vibes, but at the end the opposite side shoot them make her get struck by reality of how complicated human is. What a great show....
She was the perfect casting choice
Lucy might’ve been naive and innocent but make no mistakes she always had that “drive” and determination. When the raiders attacked the vault she actually fought back. Then when her dad was kidnapped she insisted for them to go look for him. When they refused, she just looked for him herself and broke the rules. She’s definitely gonna become a baddie up on the surface with The Ghoul now.

I think her becoming more tough is inevitable. But I hope she retains her charming and goofy type A personality
I am looking forward to her becoming a "harden wonder", however doing a complete 180 in her personality won't be ideal. The best character development would be when she keeps her best traits and gets new ones and improves on some of the previous ones.

I really love the hands up on the bridge scene. Really shows what she's all about. It's an incredibly genuine effort to avoid hurting these people. It reminds me alot of a movie called "A midnight clear." And her frustration at the end. Why couldn't they have just gone on their way?

Lucy, with her hyper-competence, could have very easily slipped in to Mary Sue territory. Ella Purnell's spectacular performance elevates her, and the fact that despite her hyper-competence she always has bad things elevates her further. Add to this the fact that she refuses to 'learn' from her mistakes and maintains her optimism in the face of all events and even reason and she is easily one of the most likeable and hopeful and good characters in the past few years.
Helps that in tough combat she isn't going lone wanderer.

Thaddeus made a terrible person in combat and Maximus made a terrible squire in support, but oppositely Thad made a great squire and Maximus a good knight. I wish they had spent more time as the classic duo of brains and brawn.
In the end, Todd Howard still found a way to come out on top.

And what’s weird is I preferred her over angelina jolie. The movie itself was Decent. yeah, I wonder what season 2 is gonna look like?🤔for fallout tv show. Imagine if the first scene of that season was the battle of anchorage. Because that was kinda the war between usa and china before the nuclear incident happened. in the fallout story timeline of course. That would be a fascinating take in season 2. the writers should try to have a flashback scene.
So part of the reason fallout show is successful is because the people and writers were very good. why are alot or videogame adaptation mostly mediocre or plain bad? Is it because they don’t follow the source material.
Change in her 'okey dokey' tone from the first to last episode...kinda summarizes her journey so far.
Doesn't happen often anymore for me, but once in a while a show makes you fall in love with the actress.

I need to watch this. Its been pure fallout every second of the video, companions and all.
I feel like the only reason Fallout really translated to TV is that the entire game isn't about graphics or epic combat. It's about the story, the setting and choices you make. The show which is basically a main storyline quest can rely on what the games have built for themselves. They can play around with stuff and make new things, but the WORLD was built by the game writers. It's a miracle that Bethesda did a pretty good job of continuing the story as well (Fallout 4 def falls flat a lot of time, but all the old guard there writing left a few years after 3). The writers of the show are just as talented as the dev's/writers who worked on the games and you gotta give them props.
I love how her “Okeey-Dokeey” changes as the show progresses! That last one though speaks volumes ❤

I knew something fishy was going on when I saw the prologue, I just want to see Codsworth go ape s*** with a saw and flamethrower, was not expecting something whole to go dark.
The scene of Lucy asking them to let maximus stay in the vault then him beating them up is pure gold.
3:20 - 3:36 is the single greatest moment in the whole series so far.
I was shocked how much I liked this series. I'm just used to everything Amazon puts out to be absolutely terrible and poop on the source material.. but jeez, somehow they nailed Fallout of all things. Awesome series, GREAT main characters.
