Great video as usual!!...also, Can you pls explain why undermining resorption causes orthopedic movement?

    • @dentistrymadeeasy

We know that movement is caused when we apply pressure through appliances and now if we want rapid movement that leads to resorption as pressure will stimulate osteoprogenitor cells to form osteoclasts that will lead to resorption.. it’s just rapid movement causes undermining resorption.. and now orthopedic appliances obviously require higher forces then orthodontic movement so it will lead to undermining resorption.. resorption is not causing the movement it’s heavy forces which we apply to move the teeth / tissues causes resorption.

@@dentistrymadeeasy thank you!..so to conclude, does that mean , undermining resorption is only a "side effect" of orthopedic movement, but the excessive force is what which actually moves the bones?
