Vložit
- čas přidán 17. 05. 2020
- I take a look at the new Enduro TrailRunner RTR from Element RC. This IFS equipped RTR comes with everything you need to get going on the trail, plus a list of bonus parts to really make this truck your own. I unbox, and reveal what's inside this box, and offer a personal review. And make some terrible Dad jokes.

Element is really making itself a top end competitor in the crawling market. Really great job Matt, love your channel!!!
I don't feel like the Element offerings are "better" than what we are seeing from Traxxas or Axial, but this offering is definitely unique, and that's great.
I couldn't agree with you more. But it's not surprising since they are an Associated Company. Associated has always made great stuff. That's exactly why I just ordered a Trailwalker. I was like...WTH? Only 250 (Back Friday sale) and it has all those features? Who the heck is Element??? Ohhhh...Associated. Ordered!!!" Hhahahaha. I need a truck to compliment my TRX-4 Bronco and Axial 55 Ford.
WHAT?!?! didnt even know this was being released as an RTR with IFS! These guys continue to impress. Decent approximation of the "not 4runner" too!
This might be the Element RC that joins my fleet
Wow, wasn't expecting it to have the 5th gen style 4runner body. Great review on it!
I can’t wait for knight customs to make this look more like a 4 runner
I don't mind IFS. Especially is scale is the look you're going for. I'd really like a 1/10 Hummer H1 Alpha with all wheel independent suspension.
A 1/10 H1 with 4 corner independent suspension with portals would be incredible!
I like it. IFS definitely has a place in the Hobby! Love the 1.55s!! The add-ons add a lot of value...
But OPAQUE WINDOW STICKERS!!?? That's a bigger faux pas than no inner Wheelwells.
Looks like a solid contender. Ifs trucks need love too. Scale doesn't always mean the most capable. That's what makes it fun is the challenge.
I do think IFS has a place in scale RC - so nice we now have options. I would love to see a stock Element vs stock Element with everything but the axles setup 100% identically (no added weights, same electrics, motors, tires and tire sizes, transmission gearing, bodies, etc) to hear feedback on how they compare.
Totally agree on the inner fenders. I bought them for my Sendero, and I wish they would have mimicked the TRX-4's molded plastic parts that also replace the shock tower instead, but they are serviceable and vastly improve the look of the truck.
Im building a IFS now. It definitely has a place. GM, Yota, Ford all have them. Many modern overland style trucks that see street duty push the envelope using the IFS. It is only natural that the scale rc side follows the 1:1 trend.
this is great, i can see plenty of 3D printing upgrades to come for this, The IFS is a great idea to have for scale points, Looks like it flexes better than the original CC01
Just ran with an IFS crawler for the first time yesterday. It surprised me. It hung pretty well on the crawling sections, but seemed like more fun on the trail. It handled speed better than a solid axle truck. I think I need an IFS rig in my fleet.
This is amazing, love IFS for scale, its something different and I need one I have enough solid axle stuff even working on a crazy Miata crawler, this just shows that they as a hobby still want to make things different and appeal to everyone.
Just picked a Trailrunner up myself. Have to say it's a pretty impressive RTR! Loving the 1.5 wheels and IFS.
I now have a reason to add an element to my already bloated fleet
Hahahaha I can agree with that😂
Duuuuude!!! This is a game changer. Element RC is doing it right. I’ve always been an AE guy and when I started crawling I was sad that there wasn’t any 1/10 scale Associated trucks. It’s like a dream come true with the release of element RC. I’m stoked on this rig.
I'm not a big fan of the IFS for myself, but I think it's a really cool option and looks great. I prefer solid axle. What I REALLY like about what ElementRC is doing is the clever designs on their box interiors, the option parts in the box, the ability to switch to solid axle front on this truck... Providing those options in the box is a big deal for me...I hate when I need to buy extra parts for something that should be part of the package... it really boosts the overall value for me!! Now we just need some sort of ElementFest event. :)
I believe IFS definitely has it spot in scale RC. Just because a lot of us call them trail trucks or rock crawlers, that doesn’t mean they have to have a solid axle. Solid axles are better in a lot of situations off road but I’ve seen IFS trucks hang with them in most cases off road. If it came to a rock crawling only situation I’d take a solid axle over a IFS. When it comes to regular trail running with some mud, dirt, water and some basic rocks every once in a while I’d be just fine and confident in taking a IFS setup on it. I have to say that Element is killing it with the trucks they are coming out with and hope that other companies follow with the ideas.
That looks so much better with the option installed in the end! In my opinion, it still needs plastic headlight and taillights on the body. the stickers really don't cut it! and your are right about the inner fenders it really should have a set.
Well brother, my daily driver is a straight axle 6" lifted XJ & I've had a TRX4 & SCX2 to match for me and my daughter to play with at events or just camping so I'm a solid axle guy for the most part... but... after I went to the sand dunes with a friend in his IFS toyota tacoma, well I hate to say it but I like the stability of the IFS in the highspeed environments... So I'm all for it in the scale vehicle applications. After seeing your video I think I'll be getting one and do up an old school PreRunner with the Tam 3sp trans & a brushless system... Should be good for around 45-50mph, not anything stupid fast but fast enough to have some real fun with...
Thanks for the video and all you do for the scale community...
And as I tell everyone with the full size rides out on the trails...
Keep the tires aimed towards the ground and all eyes upon the Lord...👍
Wow. That looks like quite the rtr. But I would totally agree. Inner fenders would have really helped with rigidity and as well finish the look much better. But all around. Really nice work
IFS definitely has a place in the hobby, and in the scale community. I personally prefer solid axels, but I recognize and realize that some people want the IFS.
I’ll be adding this to my stable. I was going to try to piece this together myself, but they did the job for me. Wonder if HPI Venture FJ Cruiser bodies are still kicking around.
just got this truck, moving up from 1/24 scx its climbing like a champ
On the presale list waiting for this. Yes ifs has a place in the scale community, if its been done to a 1/1 then its welcome to me in scale.
I’m not a fan of IFS but I spend most of my time crawling on big rocks. Nice to see Element RC bring something new to the market. I like all the extra “stuff”. Might have to add this to my collection soon.
I'd like to see a running video on this truck. I love having the IFS option. It adds to scale realism if not performance. The more options we have the better. I was thinking a plate reading FAUXRNNR would look great on the body. Always happy to have new vids from SBG to watch. Can't always watch the live streams.
Michael Hoyle clever......
8:17 - Including a bumper sticker that says "No Ifs, Ands, or Butts!" with a truck that has IFS seems...questionable.
It’s great that there is an IFS RTR now. Stiffer chassis is good. Inner fenders are an essential upgrade, but I can understand trying to keep the cost down. I feel like rolling this one down a hill would result in quite the yardsale, with the friction fit molded bits. Stickers for headlights are also not my preferred option, but again, I understand trying to keep the cost down.
Looks pretty good. Their most realistic body yet. Alot of nice extras included.
Finally. Bringing something other than a knife to a gun fight. Good job! Gotta have
1.55 tyres look really good and scale but there's no substitute for 2.2 when trying to be capable on the trail 👍 nothing worse than being that guy who is trying to get over an obstacle for the 500th time while there's a queue building behind you 😅
Good review Matt..
it’s been a while sense I’ve even looked at Rc trucks. Just waiting for that ultimate scale truck no one has done yet. There getting better but at a slow pace. The IFS is a very cool option. Body add ons a plus. The minus stickers for lights? Come on element!!!
Really? You want to make the ultimate scale truck let me know.. and fender wells would have been great also. Each is getting better..
Huge fan of 4Runners and this would be a great kit for my kids to run on the trails with my gen8 96 4Runner. Be a nice mix of old and new
Hi Matt, i can see the Tamiya CC01 coming back in vogue again lol , it’s definitely a great truck. Isn’t it great that Element actually acknowledge you with the nod to your bumper stickers. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧
I like IFS for true scale Toyota's great review I always enjoy your content
I bought one of the first released Element IFS kits and love it as an optional front suspension .
theres a lot of great Elements to this truck
Wow! Total surprise Monday. I’m digging the 1+3 runner looking body along with the additional items. I’ve been eyeballing them for a while and it’s looking like I will need to pull the trigger sometime. Great job Element!
i bought one of these because of your reviews, you are awesome
Thank you! I hope you like it!
I added the aftermarket trail honcho light kit to mine, looks really awesome, I'm running the ESC LEDs separate from the kit for day driving and the kit at night
I have real one in white....I think I will Fabri-cobble an aluminum front skid that angles to the bigger bumper. It will look cool and slide over rocks. I want the fenderwells too.
Love it! I hope it's priced like the Trailwalker, which was significantly cheaper than the TRX-4 Sport and the Enduro. This one looks more expensive, but hopefully it's still priced competitively!
he said in the video, street price of $ 389
You know what? That's not a bad kit there. Great value, excellent starting platform.
I love my fire red trailrunner. First upgrade I did was the element inner fenders set. Not sure what the difference is, but my red one came with the sc480x esc, instead of the sc400x that's in the white ones. Or maybe it was an update to all the element trucks? This thing is a fantastic trail truck. Great review. 👍👍
Very cool man. I like the truck and the look of the body. The fact that they included the option to change to solid front axle. That is awesome. Couldn't agree more, inner fenders are a must. I really like the tires on this thing . All these extras to make some of the changes to make it your own I really like as well. Great overview of this thing and defintely well with in the price range too.
So excited to get my hands on one and make it into a prerunner with a brushless system. 😍
If you want to costumize your chasiwith color and aluminium parts, Integy have all ready set and cheaper, and fit with in models before
Nice review. My wife wants one of these
When I first got interested in this the only IFS truck was the Tamiya CC01 and the SCX10 was still in its first version. Due to life getting in the way I wasn’t able to buy anything at the time. This one looks great tho I would rather the windows were clear and there was an interior in it. As for details I did see Knight Customs has some stuff in development for it
Definitely different. Definitely putting a deposit down tomorrow at hobby shop.
I really hope that the sticker starts a sticker war between Element and SBG. Like the billboard wars between car manufacturers.
Element looks very good with the accessoires, thank you very much for this comprehensive review, really enjoyed 👍
My pleasure!
Yup I'm buying that I need the fire orange one in my collection. Even though it's a not 4 runner I'm good with it as it looks so close it really doesn't matter. Sitting next to the scout ,bronco, not blazer , f350 etc etc etc etc . It will look really good . With all the iconic suv's out there being released by everybody how much longer do we have to wait to get a Dodge ramcharger on an RTR. Yes I know proline made the body It was very nice but they stopped making it very quickly. A surefire way to get me to buy your brand new RTR that you come out with would be to make either a nice real ram charger or a really good not ram charger.
Great chassis, love the 1.55s and IFS as a factory option. But that body is a no-buy for me. Non-licensed, stickers for windows and lights and a milky white paintjob. As the most expensive version of this platform the body looks like it should be the cheapest. The sticker do help a lot. A silver backing and some thin marker or tape for the panels line should help it even more.
The windows are smoked and not stickers.
Really dig my IFS setup, awesome for trail truck. Intense rocks not so much. Offers a different feel in the drive
I'd love to see a plastic axle VS4-10 to be able to get the best platform down to a lower price point. Outside of that I love everything U4 so more options in that area would be great; 1.9, 2.2, IFS, solid, FIS, all the things U4
That would be cool!
IFS is an old shoe.... Think Back 25 years or so, Tamiya did the CC01 which is so cool an nice to Drive with the Pajero body on it!
Great look! Bumper sticker for the win!
I would like to own one of that
Could u pls giveaway this to me
I've been trying to decide which ifs truck to get, with all the 1/1 trucks going ifs I've been wanting to do a modern build with ifs. It's down to this and the Tamiya, and with the parts included to switch between ifs and solid this will probably be the one
I have always vented my rims, but I have a new set of the 1.9 swampers and I have been running them without vents and they have been amazing. Yes I have custom weights and they are tailored to the foams but I am super surprised how well they are performing. I was shocked, since most folks hate non vented wheels.
it look real good for light trail but one problem i wish have rear leafs like 4runner.
Super awsome will deff buy one and have to find a body. I do like a Silverado but there are options super neat truck. I do like the stock body it comes with tho looks super aggressive toyota is awsome. Will be my first element rc. Rcs have come so far man i think it will deff become a thing and hopefully a class or be able to fall into a class.
One of the problems with full scale IFS off road is long gevity of all the moving parts.Geting freguent front end alignments. For rc driving IFS should be really good.IMO
Two things im not to crazy about about the truck. 1. There is no rear bumper and you are left with a faux bumper that is actually part of the body and hangs much further down then the front bumper. 2. And I agree that not having wheel wells on that truck was not the move. It becomes a huge eye sore especially if being a scale truck is your selling point but other then that I think it's another great option for people to start off with and sadly there will be people that buy this just to convert it to straight axle in the front because they have nothing else better to do then to get flex Friday points.
Great video. I'm gutted they have brought this out now. Bought the sendero and the ifs kit at the same time as I wanted something different from my scx10ii and my trx4. Its definitely different as it is currently sat with ifs and rear steering aswell now
Great video! Looks a lot better with all the add on parts. I was really hoping for a enduro dig unit...hope to see that in the near future.
I'm ready to see how it runs. I think the IFS looks too low. Like they didn't look at a 1:1 IFS. But I'm excited to see how this does. It may be my wife's entry into the rc world since it looks so much like her 4runner!
Plus 12.3 wheelbase is a bonus
I think IFS certainly has a place in the scaler world of rc. I would definitely like to get one to compare and see how it does. I know if anyone would EVER MAKE AN EXTERRA BODY.... this chassis would be a great starting platform, also would love to see a conversion to rear leafs with the IFS as that's what I would do to match an Xterra. 😉
dude once u added all the included extras it made this thing look so so good. might be buying a second element hahaha
IFS is fine for Daily Drivers and light trail runs.
I like it!
I think IFS is a great scale option.
That looks a hell of a lot like the HPI Venture roof rack!!
Would have been nice to see a pickup body since all of the full size half tons now are IFS and solid axle out back. Actually the Titian Warrior would have been an awesome choice.
I think its a great new rc, not another 3pete, 2.0, the third whatever,I don't know if i'll buy one but I' m glad its available, and the concept of lots of ways to make it your own without spending anymore money imo is great. And so it does"t have light buckets,or clear windows or ? change it,add it,make it, after all were rc hobbiests not just rc drivers. And for me the xtra included axle ,.why thats just the start of a new build.
Windows are clear under the decals, no light buckets.
Yes,the IFS needs to go on the TF2 4Runner.
26%?!?! Ill have to look into that! I put ar44's under mine with hot racing od in the front to get roughly a 22% od. It crawls like a spider. Hopefully the body and pieces comes out as a stand alone kit. Im sure knight will have trd stuff ready in no time
My math is probably wrong.
Great rtr
This IFS would be a perfect FJ cruiser option
I’m a Toyota fan even though it’s not a Toyota body it’s pretty darn close to it . Nice 👍 review
Looks awesome! I would leave it ifs and make it a overland rig.
I think this would look great as a straight axle with the pat 3 piece front bumper.
What do I think about independent front suspension?
"FORD RAPTOR"!!!!
Only problem is few other truck had ISF already. Hero was good one. Few other too. But I like it
Love your videos. The truck? Not so much...
IFS, 1.55s and a huge body. Somewhere Harley's mustache is upset.
Great review Matt. I do think IFS has a place for all the Trail type rigs, hence the name Trail Runner. It’s a great buy at $389...I’m curious to see what price point the complete body by itself will be offered at.
👍
Definitely going to get this truck! Nice video!
Tamiya CC-01 is IFS, and its RTR to
Wait does it include the solid front axle in the kit???? Did I see that right Matt?
This is perfect! My wife will have a reason to run with me!!
Definitely grabbing one
IFS is totally scale. Lots of modern IFS rigs on the Trails.👍🏼
7:00 you can make your own at home!
I really like it. Keep up the amazing work sir
I just bought this bad boy
