Dude talking about it like he miss it 😂
well he probably was making tons of money and living on the edge.. maybe not completely happy, but definitely most exciting times of his life probably
I would
Respectfully to Chief and to ct hoffman - we are looking at this as “normal men”. What I mean is, we have never experienced super ultra human experience as this man has. So, while I agree that he reminisces on his past romantically, here is a man that experienced something that, at least for me, (speaking as an average human), until we look at things through the lens of ultra human experience, let us not judge. Let us be gracious. And let us be observant that Lex, coming from Russia, understands danger at its greatest levels.
Oh, he miss it.
When dollars were green and cocaine was white
He’s reminiscing about the glory days
I'm sure it was an awesome part of his life, money, drugs excitement. His family would have been treated really well but it all may not of ended that way. He is a lucky one to still be able to share his happy memories
Lol . Hard out
He wasn't scared because he was honest.
Exactly. It's easy to forget that the drug business is just that, a business, provided the employees do their jobs well the bosses treat them with respect and if the employees aren't treated with respect there's always another employer. The only difference is in normal business if you mess up big time you get fired, whereas in the drug trade you get a different type of fired.
@@ddandymann You get fired at.
I love how Lex handles these interviews... Excellent work
Lexbot programmed to ask questions without character or soul. Like listening to paint dry.
Lex is such a great interviewer. Joe is great at listening, Lex is great as questioning to further the conversation. Neither lack the other skill, but each have their strengths.
Great observation 2 of my favorites awesome and interesting info for free
there’s nothing like listening to an old man weave the best tale ever told
Such a true statement
could listen to this man all day , what a voice
Love this beautiful man.
@@stellalush4547 Are you referring to the pilot? He was importing death into his own country, and seems to show no remorse whatsoever
@@perugugic if it wasn’t him it was somebody else. The ppl buying it were doing it to themselves. Weed and coke really aren’t that bad.The man was just making $
@@RangerStew if you don't consider Coke bad then I really don't know what to tell ya. And I've gotten to old to buy the argument that "if not me then someone else will do it"
If they ever make a movie or TV series based on his life, he needs to be the narrator.
Bless him . He misses that life . Give the old man a plane and a ton of coke . That's one proud man .
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
lex replaced joe rogan for me
Facts.
Same.
Yep
You guys are back stabbers. Fake jre fans
@@ashmandu3309 ill still watch a clip here or there , but Joe introducing Lex was one of the better things to come out of the jre , all due respect im just not gonna listen on Spotify
It is very simple to me:
Do not lie and fuck around,
do your job good and be on time.
I like Lex branching out
He is the real oldschool OG.Hard times create strong men.
ok joe
"to live outside the law, you must be honest" - Bob Dylan
Nope.
Escobar sent his people to set a bomb in a church to give defiant message to the government of his country.
Many of his co-citizens died in that church.
Don’t make the same mistake many Mexicans have made:
Thinking that drug dealers are on the side of the people.
They are far from that.
Exactly. I knew about that one too.
Drug dealers are not “the rebellious with a good cause” like many people think.
If you really want to overcome corruption; educate yourself and be a good citizen. Work for your own good. That’s it.
this is a reference to the pilot, not the monsters he worked for.... so save your judgements for a rainy day... thanks have a great day!
Great quote, coincidently Ive been learning and listening everything about Bob Dylan the last few days. But I didn't think I'd find him here lol! I went into the city today to get some books on Dylan from the library and near the library was a band playing a cover of Knocking on Heaven's Door! It just shows how widespread his influence is still
Bob is out of it.
he lived life without scrolling thru tiktoks. perfect!
and was responsible for so many deaths.
hes spent 30 years in jail
@@laoch5658 when there is demand there is suply, no one is forcing nobody to do drugs
@@deanborisov Well sure, everybody makes their own choices in the end. But when you consider- to offer a metaphor- that a suicidal person more often than not wont go through with it, statistically... unless you leave a gun on their table: then that outcome is far less certain. There are many many people whose lives wouldn't have been ruined by drugs, or who would never have gotten involved in the brutal business of them, had it not been presented to them as a temptation over and over. And guys like Escobar are responsible for presenting it. It wasn't just a product they were supplying, but the death of a dream. And its farcical to appeal to market principles in order to conclude that there is no guilt complicit in being a drug dealer, much less a drug kingpin.
@@julianmarx2002 Don't waste your time writing long comments on the internet that nobody will read, go outside enjoy life and stay out of drugs.
I have a story about Pablo Escobar when I was in the military we were going through a I T and I met a guy to grow up in Medellin and he would tell us stories about Pablo you could tell he still had a lot of fear for Pablo Escobar but he also had tremendous love for Pablo Escobar because of what Pablo has done for his community and his Family he said when Pablo built his school for gym class they would often run down to Pablo zoo and jog through the zoo and then Pablo built down a football field and provided him with football equipment he also told stories about how families would rarely go hungry because Pablo would put food into their kitchens as long as you Never spoke how about Pablo and his business or his people
Always an excellent interview w/ Lex.
What a fascinating guest. Wow. Thank you, Lex!
You can be my pablo wife
I won't be able to hear "Treetop Flyer" by Stephen Stills without picturing this dude singing it from now on.
He misses his old buddy and the money he was making. 😅🤠
And the women. Lots of hot women in that city.
Dude makes me want to re watch narcos for the 5th time
Narcos is disgusting. Watch “El patron del mal”
These stories are just so engaging.
Very entertaining to hear him recounting these experiences 👍🏻😊
Lex is a good listener and asks good questions-good Job!
This was one of y our best podcasts yet and thats saying a lot considering the quality of your podcasts
Lex podcast is fire. I find myself listening more to Lex than Joe nowadays.
What a wonderful interview
Am watching this channel for the first time and I already love how the host let's his guest talk
Happy to see U made it brother from dadybenny Byron bay NSW Australia..
Nice part of the world
I heard a first hand experience similar from a guy who rented him trucks a couple of times and said Pablo was very professional and friendly.
Excellent brother
He made it sound like Pablo Escobar was the Mr. Rogers of South America.
Why, even Hitler loved children and dogs!
Roger is the man! Great guy.
As a kid from Medellín in those times I saw so many dead bodies and witnessed so many shootings it became normal. The city is really cool now but I live in the US ha!
Parcero
Glad you made it out alive, brother!
U r living in the belly of the beast congrats lmao.
@@nikamegrelidze908 Latin America is by the most dangerous continent on earth you silly person
@@elingrome5853 Lmao the irony of you calling someone else a silly person as you refer to Latin America as a continent.
My Colombian wife was quite disgusted by his attitude towards these mass killers acting like they were gentlemen. After living in Colombia during the brutality, she has an insight into the situation that not many in the world can have. These men were pure evil, killing anyone that dared to jeopardize there drug sales. Gangs and hitmen roamed the streets and it was unsafe for most to even walk to the neighborhood stores without fear of being a casualty of drug turf wars. The residents of that time lived in fear every time they opened there doors to go outside.
Thank you for speaking the truth. We are facing propaganda daily.stay strong.
That doesnt mean that they dont act like gentlemen themselves personally
Ok. Emotions aside, it was business. It _is_ business still today. Supply and demand of a black market product made that way because they won’t legalize what the people want. It’s a sad reality but it’s just business.
He also mentioned how many people were murdered in Medellin every year during this time. People have selective hearing and get so emotional they can’t hear the entirety of what people are saying.
@judge dred, easy to say that gringo when you weren’t there.
Lex is on another level. With these interviews
His family wasn’t really hostages but insurance.😂
If the song My Way had a spokesperson for it or a picture of someone to representthesong. It would be this guy.
💯
Fascinating guest
absolutely incredible
Very interesting.
The soap commercial guy sounds like Sean William Scott
Just do your job and everyone stays happy!
He seems like the nicest guy in the world!!!
Lex clips rocking that MIB - Pulp Fiction swag!
Real OG!
This guy is rad.
You can tell Lex gas never dealt with anyone dangerous before because he is in shock that dude wasn’t scared.
Please bring Jordan Peterson and Naval Ravikant.

When you work above the law, you have to be honest, and tell the truth about everything if not! You will have a short life!
Of course Pablo didn't rip him off, he needed him to come back and fly more coke. Does that mean he's honest ? 🤷♂️
awesome..
Ochoa was bigger than Pablo
Ochoa untouchable, he still living off cocaine $$ to this day
Functional sociopaths appreciate other functional sociopaths.
@@esltogo6898 well everyone else makes no sense
You mean people like in the government??
Alex finds it hard to believe that business can be done well with everyone. Including the most dangerous people. If you do what you say you do what would you get killed?
Precisely. He’s swayed by Hollywood. Business is business.
These guys do business on a handshake. The threat of violence and death is implied. If you cheat or get cute you’re gonna pay the price with your life.
Legitimate business entails pages of contracts , lawyers, and they still find a way to cheat each other out of money. So I who’s really the gangster ?
This is some insane shit at 4:18 I can only understand how tough living in those times would be
This guy is pure gangsta and honest. YOu don't get those two in one. Yeah, he did bad stuff, but very interesting to hear his stories.
Order in the middle of chaos is the only way to make it work.

@@s1dew1nd3r4 exactly they wont
@@Liqquidd he could go to europe
No you wouldnt. Youd spend your days thinking about making more
That’s leanard from da jango
3:00 SIMPLE ANSWER because that’s bad business Lex.
Exactly
I talked to a guy who had been in charge of drug interdiction for the Mexican Army for the entire Pacific region in the 80’s . He said DEA and Mexican gvt had to look the other way and even participate so as not to blow their cover and to keep the little fish under control, otherwise, the price would go down, drug use would go up and there would be total chaos and violence. That’s exactly what happened.
Why not go right to the source you can go right to the source it is very easy to meet Pablo Escobars brother Roberto, he runs a museum about his time and is very friendly and open talking about him and his brothers time he also sells phones, my friend went and met him.
So true - if you are completely honest you never have to worry about the lie you told
I am the greatest there ever was
Honesty is a much better way to stay alive when you're moving millions of dollars of contraband every day. Especially for a murderer.
Wow what a time to be alive
Lol that's Wagner Moura in your thumbnail, an actor, not Pablo, though he did play Pablo in Narcos.
It actually is Escobar in the picture, they used the real picture in narcos, google the picture and you’ll see 👀
if im ever in a position to meet al capone, pablo escobar or someone like a John Wayne Gacy. Im seriously in the wrong place at the wrong fckin time.
Dude put ur pride card back in ur wallet. Self righteous. Cone on- comparison to j w gravy? Isn't that a little too dramatic?
@@chuckmartin935 no i really think, if you are in a room with John Wayne Gacy with a drink in your hand, you really are in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Asking a bad man if another bad man is bad. 🤷♂️
Drugs are baad, mkay
Most people are bad
This old cowboy reminiscing about the good old days.
Brilliant!!
People some would call criminals can be the people with some of the most integrity you can meet and can count on their word.
We are trusting you with millions of dollars of coke, Mr. Stevens. Without your children, there is no deal.

Barry seal ?
The feds showed up at my uncles camp house, and called him and told him they needed his house to stake out the airport for a raid, (airport was in front of house) so my uncle let them in (it’s the feds he had no choice) needless to say my uncles house is the house the fbi used to get Barry Seal (Louisiana)
No I think that needed to be said because otherwise I wouldn't have known who you were talking about
@@stephen3762 your sarcasm is deeply unassuming and does not increase your brain cell count. No matter what, just remember how badly you wanted to comment those few worthless words - on some random comment you ran across on the internet. I’d suggest you sort your priorities out first before commenting with what you thought would be an intelligent response, whilst being incredibly undeserving of the condescension you put into the ether. Good-luck with your problems brother, your comment certainly didn’t make you a better man.
