- In this video we unbox the brand new OMP Hobby M1 EVO! The M1 was/is a fantastic heli! The main frame was a weak point and the one peace tail fin/fount was troublesome when needing to replace. OMP listened to our Suggestion/recommendations and the M1 EVO has a simple carbon fiber main frame and a two peace tail fin/tail motor mount! Very excited to fly this model!

I progressed alot with cp helis on my original m1. Low consequence crashes are good. Ill definitely be getting this and the new m2 and every heli omp comes out with. Lol
I really enjoyed my original M1 and still enjoy it lol I’m hoping that the M1 EVO is everything the M1 is! I really like that they went to a carbon fiber main frame as well as a two piece tail motor/fin mount. I will own every model OMP makes as well lol

Or you would need frame sides,boom/motor mount and FBL mount and servo mount. Plus all the screws. I don’t think OMP sells a full kit to convert. The MicroHeli,aim frame would be the easiest way to get a carbon main frame. I did it on my M1 and made a massive difference in flight as well as durability!

Ah...I followed your link and saw the RTF versions...Nice. I sure like that "eggplant" color scheme though, Kinda looks really sharp! (And no, I'll never let you live that one down) lol
Annnd skip that comment as well. The RTF was for the older M1, NOT the EVO..
They should have the RTF M1 EVO version! but I do know that it took me a while to receive this because they didn’t make that mini on the first batch. For some reason eggplant kept coming out of my mouth so I will forever Call it eggplant! 🤣
@@westhobbiesrc8051 I've been doing a little more homework, and see on thier actual site, that you can get it with a choice of two transmitters, They have htier kinda low frills unit, and also a really nice looking one with a screen on it called the Zorro. Would have bought it on the spot, but I saw no way to actually add that to my order. ugh.
I know what you mean about the "eggplant syndrome" I once said "Farbon Kiber", and now I can't stop that either! lol (Instead of 'Carbon Fiber') I'm a Blade fan for now, as I got the NX-8 radio and just bind my helis to that, the satellite reciever concept on the T-15, which I first fell in love with, worried me a little bit, and the app on the phone was kind of a neat trick, although I'm hesitant to 'learn new tricks' shall we say. However, next to the M1, the T-15 almost looks a little goofy maybe? That M1 Evo is just a gorgeous little machine for sure, I don't even need to hit up Microheli for any upgrades! lol

No one seems to have these in stock right now. And yes, one "eggplant" is an error, the second time is a little funny..lol In such a rush to open the box, not really reading it! I'd love more than anything to find one of these in an RTF format.
No stock of M1 or M2 in the UK. Any idea what's going on?
They have been backed up on the M1 Evo for the last few months. I’ve just got mine and have been waiting on it for two months lol Radio set up is extremely easy and I have a video coming out tomorrow if you fly Spektrum. I don’t know why I keep calling it eggplant lol I know it’s elegant white but it will always be eggplant in my mind 🤣🤣
Of the EVOs? They were backed up for a while after the release. It took two months for me to even get this one. Hopefully they’ll start coming in stock soon!
So does it easily take an Spektrum sat? I have a Trex 150X and I used to love that thing but the servos were easy to kill and I hated replacing servos too often. But it flew fantastic, I did my first real life funnels on it. The only thing is the motor got tired and and the 3rd or 4th pack I could notice it didn't have the same power. It needed a tiny little wire to connect the sat. So if you install an Spektrum sat you need to buy that additional adapter? Also, when you test it since you seem to have a few packs can you test it one after another just to see if it takes the abuse? And finally, the metal geared servos alone make it a WAY better heli than the 150X just for that fact in my view.
So the M1 is 150 times better then a Align T-15 or 150X could ever be lol multiple reasons why it is better but the biggest thing is flight performance! The M1 is such an incredible solid micro little helicopter it’s almost unreal! My only actual complaint is if you run more then stock pitch at a high head speed you will blow the tail. But stock pitch settings in the FBL that it comes with I never had an issue! My original M1 I flew literately 10 packs in a row back to back on a hot 90+ degree day and zero issues with tail or main motor! It’s really an incredible little machine. I highly recommend them! Now that the Evo has a carbon mainframe really change the game because the stock plastic M1 main frame was very weak! But yes you just plug in a regular DSMX satellite into the DSMX port and you are good to go! The only wire you need is what comes with the satellite. I have a spektrum radio set up video coming out tomorrow.
Where did you mount the SPEKTRUM SBus receiver? Thanks in advance.
I use a DSMX satellite and took it out of the case and mounted on the side of the FBL/ESC.

Really!? The EVO didn’t come with a swash leaver? I heard someone else say that there’s didn’t come with any of the little parts bags either. I’m going to message them directly and tell them to make sure that they check each model before it goes out because it is supposed to!
I got it in early September. I havent been fly for few years but this is perfect for some back yard 3D. 10 out of 10 in my opinion. I did notice that yours has large washers on the tail fin compared to mine, maybe an update because I did shear off one of the screws in a crash. The screws are so small I have to get the whole block.
what are your though on the soxos strike 7.1? might start saving up to build one
So far I am thoroughly impressed with it. I have not personally flown one or seen one in person but a good friend of mine knows Danny very well and she swears by that model. Hopefully I will get one sooner or later and definitely do some flying and reviewing on it!
