I love hand sewing, too! My hubby likes for me to watch tv for about 45 min in the evening, so i have ready my epp kit by my chair. It calms me.

My grandma taught me how to sew by hand when I was five and although I know how to sew by machine and sewing machines are wonderful inventions, I prefer sewing by hand because I have more control over the direction of the seams and size of the stitches, I can get the needle into places machine needles can't, it's meditative, it's quiet, and I don't have to worry about the bobbin running out of thread or birdnesting or adjusting the tension or the motor going gaflooey right when I need it most.
