He pushed the button to switch tanks. Thats why its moving fast. This car has two fuel tanks, selectable by driver. The gauge shows how much is in the selected tank.
Would you say the engine is rather bulletproof or something? I'm thinking of buying a very well preserved one soon and I'm wondering if I should go for it or not..
I had a 71 XJ6L ,royal blue With wabasto roof ,I reupholstered the seats black conolly with dark blue inserts ! 4.2 freshened up , converted into manual (Getrag 5spd) I paid $4500au in early 90 s and spent another $ 16.500 building my car not to sell my car ! Driven sensibly 16 mpg Driven like a man possesed 9 or 11 mpg ! I loved using every gallon ! Until sadly A large gumtree branch fell onto the shed resulting in an Electrical fire eventually burning every thing to the ground ! And yes I still miss that car ! But the memories of Blowing SS commodore's And turbo rice burners away Keep me happy ! I am now building a replica Jag broadspeed ! P.s You use that much fuel And the odometer hasn't moved You better check your fuel Line's and the ground 😂 !
Don’t know if you’ll see this and can help me. But I’m in a fix. I have aJaguar XJ6, which is on 4 flats, no keys, stuck in a garage. My mother and sister made the impeccably stupid choice to have it shoved in there. I want the car gone. But because it’s difficult to get it out, there’s no paperwork, I can’t seem to get anyone to get it out of there. Also, I do not care what happens to it. The front faces outward. At this point, I’m considering hurling a boat anchor through the windshield and yanking it out myself. Do you have any advice?
find a way to pick the lock and chuck it into nuetral, should be able to find a tow hook underneath from there man. if not i reccomend just chucking it in nuetral and strapping the hook onto somewhere solid and skulldragging the fucker out. had to do it on a few of my old cars

Not even a tow company would pick it, unless I made it more accessible, get it out of the garage, down the driveway, past the ac unit poking out of a window, because a tow truck couldn’t get back there. I drive a Touareg, which would likely have decent enough tow capacity to tow this XJ6 on 4 flats. But, the day before I was about to get under and attach a recovery strap, a guy at a local pizza shop told me his brother might want it and the rest was history. The only dark magic question is how my parents got the vehicle, as a gift to my mother, probably after an argument, when she never had a license and, although it was facing nose in, in the driveway, it was nose out, once in the garage. Well, she did have a ouija board, I need to search for and toss.😆

I had a 4.2 xj6 in the early 80's it used to average about 15 m.p.g. and I drove it fairly hard as well

If you can get in it, it’ll go into neutral without a fight. They don’t have any safe guards in place to stop it from rolling lol
