Once I had migraine and while trying to find relief I accidentally strangled my brain (please do not hold on something like a pull-up bar while totally relaxing your neck and shoulders, letting your head fall back!!! IT IS DANGEROUS YOU CAN DIE) because I accidentally closed the main arteria that gives oxygen to the brain and then I fell, hitting my head with every single stair of the wall bars. The room was dark and my parents were watching a movie in the other room, so one one found me.
I've been unconscious for about 10 minutes, although it felt like infinity and a short moment at the same time. I felt... So good. I didn't feel any pain. No discomfort. No desires. It was the best time of my life.
Then the thoughts, sounds and pain started appearing like some annoying white noise and then I slowly faded back in the reality. Reality full of pain, emotions, thoughts. I hated it.
Less than a year later I tried to off myself, but now, knowing how peaceful and nice non-existence is, it would be very selfish to k!ll myself and make my family and friends suffer, while I'm in heaven. So that day I stepped back and a giant truck didn't run over me.

I think it’s because certain chemicals get released in the brain. You’re pretty much on drugs the moments before you die.
Your body is pretty crazy, pain is only a thing that developed to protect the body. Fear just to save you from scary situations. But at some point your body “knows” there is no point anymore and it will just make you happy instead. That’s I believe how it works.
Ofcourse your body isn’t necessarily right, luckily you made it out. I think it’s some pretty strong effect, sometimes it makes people see stuff too I believe. That’s also where I think religion likely comes from. Someone or multiple people having similar effects but no explanation. Therefore contributing their survival to a god.

It'd be like a whole setup of things, would need a lot of places and I'd probably have to buy some machinery to do stuff automated (can't really do anything by myself if I'm already dead). But if everything works out well, it should reduce the trauma and disgustingness that other similar situations have. Like, you know, if it's just bones, they're far less disgusting and bothersome to clean up and probably also a lot easier to look at. I mean, I'm not even fully finished with completely planning the whole thing out but I'm pretty confident that it'd work out well and make the whole ordeal one of the least unpleasant experiences that police and medics can have in such circumstances.

You know I was under anesthesia once, I was unconscious for an hour or so, it was so blank, and I had no awareness of myself. It's all... EMPTY, VOID, BLACK, NULL, NOTHING. No feelings no thoughts no awareness.
I'd argue that's what happens after death and believe me it's so calm you want to experience it again.
Many people get sui*idal with these thoughts. What I learnt from my experience is that life is a box, spanning ~70-80 years and outside that box there's nothing, So you've got this precious span of 70 years(nothing compared to cosmological timeline) and in this span of time, you're entitled to the best gift this universe has given you, consciousness. And with this gift, you can either off yourself and waste it, or you can live a fulfilling happy life forming meaningful connections with other conscious beings, perceive and experience this universe, indulge yourself!

My mind was still “alive” but I could feel nothing, hear nothing, taste, smell nothing, remember nothing about who I was or where. It was pure calm and tranquility. When I finally came to consciousness, I just wanted to go back and as senses came to one by one, it was so overwhelming.

I'll never understand getting to that point she had other things going on in her life and maybe that also influenced some of her choices but i couldnt help thinking she was kind of crazy for it. If you or anyone is struggling like that please seek help i dont know if that woman is even still alive but she has family and children who i know had to witness those things and your "high" is not worth chasing at the expense of your life and those who have to witness it that care for you. I hope she got the help she needed and found something better in life and i hope anyone going through something similar also gets the help they need. @ZdenekMicke69 Před 2 měsíci

When the human body experiences extreme pain or faces the prospect of dying, it can release a variety of substances that serve to alleviate pain and induce pleasurable sensations.
Endorphins: Often referred to as the body’s natural painkillers, endorphins are released by the hypothalamus and pituitary gland in response to pain or stress. These peptide hormones not only relieve pain but also create a general feeling of well-being. The term “endorphins” comes from “endogenous morphine,” indicating that they are produced within the body and mimic the painkilling effects of morphine.
Norepinephrine and Cortisol: These are two major stress hormones released during traumatic events. Norepinephrine acts as both a hormone and neurotransmitter and is important for attentiveness, emotions, sleeping, dreaming, and learning. Cortisol, often called the “stress hormone,” regulates a wide range of processes throughout the body, including metabolism and the immune response, and it has a very important role in helping the body respond to stress.

Most people that have seen the other side don’t want to come back but it’s not their time. Some stay mad, others don’t remember and then some tell everyone that will listen how beautiful it is and how everyone gets to go there. Animals are there all your friends and relatives that left before. Our time here is so short and seconds there are like days

As someone who’s also been half dead once before. I can attest, it was literally the most calm, relaxed and stress free I’ve ever been in my life. Going out I remember telling the medic urging for me to stay with them and not go to sleep I was assuring him I just wanted to take a quick nap, I’ll be back just let me sleep. I remember saying “I’m fine man, just let me sleep. I just want to sleep”. Full relaxation then waking up exhausted beyond measure with the IED leads on my chest. Apparently my heart rate dropped lower than most of them have seen from someone who didn’t completely die. I think 20 - 25 BPM for about 10 minutes.
They said if I hadn’t woken up when I did they already had the IED machine ready to go off 😅
This legit fucked with me for the next few years. I didn’t fear death anymore, but really hated that would probably be the last time I was truly not stressed or worried. Such a tease to know that level of calm.

Met a coworker who had been dead for a couple of minutes. Caffeine overdose, then was revived a little while later.
He described it as euphoric, the best sleep he’d ever had.

No we would do anything to feel nothing. That's the point of what the guy in the video did. At least in the context we can take from this small clip. He did it to feel nothing. No happiness, no depression, anger, love, loneliness, we would feel nothing.
