    I remember when I was sexually assaulted by 2 men during the first “let up” of COVID in June 2020, when restrictions started to wane. I was drugged at a restaurant, taken to a house, and assaulted, I had bite marks and bruises all over. The officer that stayed with me in the ER was a young man, probably younger than me by at least 5-6 years, who was very kind and respectful. Didn’t talk unless he had to, didn’t touch me. The nurses took pictures of the injuries, and he stayed in the room but looked away when needed. He never touched his phone, was just acting in a professional, strong presence to help me feel safe but at the same time, he took the situation seriously. I never learned his name, but I still appreciate his work during that day.

    • @Ghosts1129
      @Ghosts1129 Před 6 měsíci +349

      People react differently, her reaction is due to trust being broken with men. When he went to give the tablets PTSD took over and she reacted due to fear of being hurt again.
      Some people can have major attacks, they can "relive" the experience over and over again in their heads whilst on the outside you'll hear them screaming/shouting for help etc.
      It's a disgusting act to do to a person, it takes their life away, they feel vulnerable, they feel like they have no control, they feel like their lives are worthless. People who do this act should get the same time in prison as murderes because simply put... They destroyed someones life and it's irreparable. You can live a happy life, but you will always have your head screwed up.
      I know due to a friend who I was able to talk out of PTSD attacks, it's quite scary to see one when you are not used to them... For me, I could feel the fear in my friends voice, and she couldn't hear anything as she was far gone. Over time I was able to build a trust where even during a PTSD attack if I was to constantly ask questions and talk to her she was able recognize my voice and come back then answer said questions to keep her mind away from the shit. This worked as I was like a "safety net" for her, she saw me as a person she could be safe with and her mind recognized my voice as a protective figure.
      My other friend wished the person had let her go to the forever sleep afterwards... mostly after the system only gave the guy 2 years when he did it to an underage 11 y/o.

      @@insankamil2909 After experiencing sexual assault of any kind, it’s not remotely uncommon for the victim to develop an aversion to physical contact and intimacy in general. They may also consciously or subconsciously avoid people who are associated with the perpetrator or share traits of the perpetrator. Victims of sexual assault often develop PTSD and may never truly feel safe again because of the trauma that was inflicted upon them.
      In most cases of sexual assault, the perpetrator is someone who was close with the victim such as friends, family, significant others, spouses, family friends, etc. It is recommended that the victim and those close to them cut off all contact with the perpetrator and do everything possible to prevent the perpetrator from getting into contact with the victim.

    Idk if someone posted an ep summary but i believe the way things go is house gives her a very flat no nonsense forward answer about what happened to her. Shes in shock at how he talked to her. After this scene with Cuddy the woman actually requests House as her doctor. Its a way for her to try and regain control of her life. He refuses her and says he will get a therapist for her.
    She tries to kill herself (again a control thing) and ultimately house does say he will try to help her.
    It’s a big house growing moment because he hates interacting with people instead trying to solve their problems through lab tests and medical procedures but her problem cant be solved this way. For him to cure her he must connect with her emotionally.
    He then gets sorta blackmailed into a situation where she wont discuss the rape situation unless house tells her about his leg issue. House gives a big long speech about a past trauma but she doesnt believe it. In the end it turns out his story is partially true but that he swapped the characters. Finaly near the end he tells her who the people really are in his story and she opens up about the rape incident
    It is found out that the woman is actually pregnant from the sexual assault and house says she should terminate but she says no on the grounds of even a fetus is life and it would be murder (she is religious)
    I could be wrong but i think by the end she does agree to end the pregnancy despite her religious views.

    I honestly loved this moment. House knows for a fact that he is not the dr. For this rape victim.
    Some people cannot help themselves from being assholes. He, as everyone knows, is onenof those people. He knows it and he's honest about it. He also JUST insulted her like three times, he's already scared that poor girl to death. Any further treatment will have to be conducted by someone else, she wont comply with him because shes probably more scared to death of him. She wont even let him touch her, rightfully so.
    He just knew that someone else needed to do the job. But there's also something else, and its a testament to how good of an actor this guy is. The way he looked at her when he realized, the way he said oh my god. I dont remember many moments in the show where he has the kind of empathy he had in that moment. Its such a subtle, yet loud look, and it shows how he is still human and still has emotional weakness. And how emotional weakness is a strength, because he immediately stopped his quips (which we previously assessed that he is nearly incapable of doing) and demanded she be treated by someone else.
