    Looks like old paint flaking off. Not a good look in my opinion.

    And now you have a bigger nightmare… exposed fiberglass

    Can you paint over the smear? And if you can. What kind of paint

      The mortar is permanent and is not easily removed--you can paint over it but I don't recommend EVER painting over brick. I know it's done a lot, but once you've painted brick, you've turned a relatively maintenance-free surface into one that requires periodic maintenance.

      I feel you. As a german, I take the naming of this as an Insult.

    How to make rough brickwork look even rougher. No wonder poor old George is hiding inside he just can't handle watching his wife ruin his house. This is one of the reasons my girlfriend is absolutely forbidden from touching my house in any way. From a UK bricklayer. ie just because something has German in it dose not make it good.

      Americans must seem like peculiar folks to UK people who have Standards. I was actually warned as an apprentice bricklayer that I was making this architects brickwork look Way too “ pretty “!and that Wacko Americans Don’t like “ pretty “ they often prefer the splashed up sloppy looking whatever It’s unfortunately An American thing And the guy who warned me was right That architect actually wanted the sloppy Broken bond splashed up shitty look!!

    What kind of sponge did you use to apply?

    • @jeffhildreth9244
      @jeffhildreth9244 Před 7 měsíci

      Large common artificial sponge.. cheap and durable.

  • @treatyourselfwithlove_nuskin

    Why using a white cement with fiberglass? I see other using cement mortar without fiberglass.

    I like it with the grout bag. Then use a scraper. Too much work going back and taking it off with the sponge.

    In the UK, we would think the house was badly maintained and the owners didn’t have to money to repaint. Not a nice look.

      Americans are literally engineered somehow to like sloppy trash awful no standards unacceptable work I was in the union for 3 decades and know exactly what I am talking about

  • @toecutter1015

    So someone took the time to mix up the colors of the brick and do a decent job So that someone later on could create that ugly splashed up sloppy look?? If I was going to buy that house I would have to take into account the amount of time and money it would take to Clean off that mess if it’s even possible?
