I would love to have smart shades in my bedroom, but it would be better if more companies developed a motor that could be adapted to your existing shades/blinds. The options right now are limited. Great review though, very informative!

Have you seen Soma Smart Shade adapters? They’re compact, battery operated, and come with a solar cell to recharge the battery. This makes the adapter virtually maintenance free, which is good for shades on high windows or a large set of windows.

@@JavierJimenezB I’ve seen a few different retro fit options, but one of the biggest down sides I’ve seen so far is that the motors in them are pretty loud. How’s the sound on the ones you went with?

I got two windows I can't get to easily, a set of these blinds was almost a cool g note. Even though the price was high they work real real good

I appreciate you said they let in a little light through the holes, but when fully closed, is light let in through the slats?

You can still see a little line of light on the blinds themselves, but light doesn't actually come through the blinds themselves, if that makes sense. - Josh

The control of Serena Shades are based on Lutron Caseta which integrates with Samsung SmartThings. On the Serena Smart Shades website www.serenashades.com/, scroll down to “The Most Connected Smart Shades” You’ll see they are compatible with SmartThings
