I’ll be making the bases next so that video will be on the channel tomorrow 👊
Thanks man I love to see someone posting realistic models that wont take half a year to finish but still look great
Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching!
Thank you for the tutorial! They came out really good. I accidentally did Basilicanum Gray on the shoulder pads and helmet instead of Black Templar on my test model but it looked pretty good and used it on all of them.
Lovely job here, I really appreciate contrast paint videos that show results like this!
Thank you! Contrast paints are great and don’t need to be flooded on. I like the watercolour effect they can give and being able to just add one coat in most cases really speeds the process up. Thanks for watching! 👊
I just painted a guardsman following this tutorial and it turned out great!
That's awesome to hear! It's a great set to paint up.
This video was really handy, I don't have this box set but I have a bunch of 3D printed Death Korps corpses that I've put on the bases of some of my other models.
Great to hear, thanks for watching!
So good…
Thanks Eric!
Great content. It’s surprising your able to upload these high quailing painting videos as well as all your other content.
Duncan would be proud. I just got my set in the mail and can't wait to dive in. Probably go Contrast as well. Hope to see more of these kinds of videos.
🤣 Yes get those two thin coats on there! Have fun with the set, the models and scenery are brilliant. Loads more to come, the bases and the Orks will be on the channel today 👊
Wow didn’t know contrasts could look so good! Excellent video and I will be sure to paint mine similarly.
Thanks so much! I’m a big fan of Contrast Paints, they can give some nice quick results … plus I can’t paint the traditional way 🤪
It's great the bar of "tabletop ready" can be raised just by replacing your basecoats with contrast. I don't buy GW paints often because I'm an airbrush guy, but if I do some 28mm in the future I'll give it a shot.
It’s cool how one coat can get some nice effects. I’m a big fan and with a big pile of shame it’s great to get them ready for battle quickly! 🤣 Have fun giving it a go and thanks for watching! 👊
Thanks for the tutorial, I ended up buying and building two sets of kriegs to have all the options (also they will be handy for my imperial guard 40k army) the paintjob looks crisp.
Hey nice one! Glad it was helpful and thank you for watching 👊
looking good you do a wonderful job with the contrast
Thanks so much!
It was great and easy to follow, Thx!
Great to hear! Thanks for watching 👊
The color Schema I was looks for ❤ thx
You're welcome!
Awesome job!!!
Thanks so much!
awesome!
Thank you!
Starting mine this weekend!
Awesome, have fun painting them, they’re a great set. 👊
amazing, i didnt personally use contrasts yours looks great ,cant get over how beautiful the models are, i did alot of tweaking and managed to get the crouching medic to be a demolitions expert, gave the running medic the crouching ones arms and made the last normal guardsman into the spotter great vid
Thanks so much! That sounds awesome, this set has loads of flexibility. I love the idea of giving the medic the crouching arm.
This looks excellent
Thank you!
Looks great 👍 love the trench coat.
Thanks so much!
Great job! I will be doing mine in the greenish outfits. I build lots of tanks so I have tons of different green shades. :-)
Thank you! The green Krieg look so good. I prefer green for them but my boy is playing the Krieg and wanted them grey/blue. I am playing the Orks for this set so will not be short on green! 🤪
Now that new contrast are out any chance you have a recommendation for the color of the jacket that is not a mix like in the video?
I think I'd still go with the same mix.
Great tutotial
Thank you!
The bindings at the bottom are more correctly called puttees.
"A puttee, also spelled puttie, is the name, adapted from the Hindi paṭṭī, bandage for a covering for the lower part of the leg from the ankle to the knee"
Great vids btw keep up the good work.
Nice one, thank you for that and thanks for watching too! 👊
Great video. First time on your channel. Going for your other Octarius vids.
You might have a new sub : )
Awesome, thank you!
@tabletopskirmishgames on by the way. Officially a new sub. Love your vids!
I painted my killteam following your video and they ended up way better than anything I could have done by myself. Thank you! Also, what colour(s) did you use to paint paper for zealot and comms vet?
Great to hear, thank you! Skeleton Horde Contrast ill work nicely but you could also try a bit of agar earth shade over the wraithbone for a similar effect.
Getting the Octarius set tomorrow (regular tabletop is too expensive)
Awesome, it's a great set. Have fun getting it ready!
Great video! Do you have a video about how you mix the paint?
I don’t have a separate video on this, but I mix it in a plastic lid from a hummus pot. I add the paint using a brush but if you want precise measurements you could use a pipette.
Thanks for watching 👊
Hi and tx for your great YT-channel. I have a question, is there a special reason that you use wraith bone instead of Corax White?
Thank you! When I started painting it was advertised as Contrast undercoat so I went with it. I tried white and grey as a base but didn't like the finish as much. I always planned to try out some zenethal priming with grey and then wraith bone.
What is the thing that holds your miniatures?
Hey! Hope you still read these comments, just wondering how do you mix the paints in that 2:2:1 ratio? Im not having a good understanding of that. Any help would be great, Thank you!
Hey, Quinn! I dip my brush in and clean it off in between paints (I find it's good to moisten the brush first). You could also use pipettes for precision measurements. These can be found pretty cheap on amazon, here's a link ... amzn.to/409Pvgy
@@tabletopskirmishgames Thank you! I was shocked to get a reply so soon so I really appreciate the help.
Do you use the contrast paint straight from the pot, or are you mixing it with a little water on a palette?
I mostly use it straight out of the pot and can usually find the colour I like from the selection. I do twist my brush in the pot to get a nice tip, though. Sometimes I might mix in some Contrast Medium on a palette, but not that often.
@@tabletopskirmishgames Alright, thanks. Getting ready to paint my Kriegsmen :)
Quick question: what three paints did you use for the medals on his chest?
I used Gryph Hound Orange for one, Ork Flesh Green for another, and finally Shyish Purple for the third. Then gold Retributor armour finished with a shade of agrax Earthshade or Nuln Oil.
@@tabletopskirmishgames thank you! And amazing job!
Happy I could help. Thanks for watching! 👊
Could you also use black as a primer, or do you recomend grey or white?
For contrast, black isn't good. Grey works well and zenithal is highly recommended, though I don't tend to do that for the tabletop ready standard.
12:41 Why does this one Krieg Guardsmen have more blue than the others ?
Well spotted! I pointed that one first but didn't like the blue.
How long did it take the paint that little dude?
I painted all of the team at the same time and it took a solid day of painting to get them finished. I'd say around 7 hours plus the bases.
@@tabletopskirmishgames nice! I’ve started batch painting them in a very similar way. Wyldwood for the shoes, skeleton horde for the wrappings, and etc.
You forgot space wolves Grey in your Infobox :p
Nice one, thanks for letting me know. I’ve added it now. Thanks for watching too! 👊
@@tabletopskirmishgames awesome content you are producing here
Are you saying "rugsack"?
I know it's a rucksack but there is a good chance I am saying rugsack 🤣
@@tabletopskirmishgames If a word could have a smell Rugsack would have a distinct one.
Just painted the ork kommandos and now this looks like the perfect video to paint the Kriegs. Thanks
That's awesome, have fun and thanks for watching!
