Totally agree with you on that! This was not a "Mickey Mouse Ring" at all! To win this ring took more out of a team than a regular season schedule would have. Instead of a marathon of 162 games, plus the playoff rounds, it was to be a literal sprint to the crown. I don't think the average baseball fan really understood what this crazy shortened season took out of the players. True hats off to all the teams that endured this tumultuous season, and especially The Dodgers for coming out on top!

I'm a dodgers fan, trust me, I fucking cried my eyes out when they won. But this is a Mickey Mouse ring, they choked after this, hard! All this ring proved that the pressure gets to them when fans are in the stands, breaks my heart year after year.

@@zackerymurguia4957 bruh, don't let the haters get to you and doubt your Dodger pride. There were 11,500 fans at the NLCS and WS games, plus the team's families, so that's a bs reason among many to downplay the championship.

Oh, yeah. I was able to see only a portion of the NLDS and NLCS, but I was able to watch most of the World Series. I wore my Dodgers polo shirt that day, though I doubt that had anything to do with the team winning the championship. Anyway, I was happy to find out that Tommy Lasorda was able to be there in person before he graduated to a better place. It also was great to see the Dodgers' executive team--- Magic Johnson included-- celebrate the victory.

Jesus, I still can't believe that they pulled Snell when they did...he was doing great to that point. He had our Azul on the ropes, fooling them in and out of the strike zone. It was the World Series for God's sake! And what happens? After they pull him because of the analytics? Mookie lines a double down the left field line to open the floodgates. Then the passed ball to allow another run to score? It was all over then...I've been a Dodgers fan since 1969 and love that they won in 2020, but what a terrible decision to pull Snell when they did...

Looking back at it now, it was a tough call for the manager. Snell was doing great but his numbers in late innings and high pitch count were bad and the dodgers were extremely good in late innings. I can see why he decided to take the chance and take him out but the guy he brought in was having trouble so why him ? Regardless, happy af the dodgers won 😂👍

If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. If they allowed snell to keep pitching, and let’s say the rays won that game. They would then have to contact trace everyone who came in contact with turner, which would be the whole dodger team and staff, and possibly half of the rays teams. The World Series would have to be delayed, because those players would have to self quarantine for 14 days. There is no way the MLB would do that, so they told the rays to tank just to get it over with. I think if the rays were up the MLB would have told the Dodgers the same thing. Just look at the 9th inning at bats by the rays, the last two batters didn’t even attempt to swing at anything, but you would think they would at least try a desperation swing or something, but no they just left their bat on their shoulder and watched as they got struck out. It’s the World Series for fuck sake, and you don’t even make an attempt to swing? That’s why I think the MLB told the Rays to tank.

No, the league just dodged a huge bullet. Plus turners test was a false positive.

@@los_reyes9517 but they didn’t know that at the time. He didn’t get his second test done for a day or two after, and it takes a day or two to get the results back, so even if they found out let’s say 2-3 days later they would still have to pause the WS for almost a week. Do you know what I mean? Either way their would have been a stoppage, and that would send the WS at a minimum into November. Plus, that doesn’t include the testing that would of had to happen for everyone that came in contact with him, and who’s to say someone else would have had a false positive also. So, it’s either end it then, or potentially have the WS start up again at a minimum in November. The best example I can give for this type of thing happening before was the 2017 WS, that doesn’t include the cheating the Astros we’re doing, but if you go back and watch game 7 during the bottom Third inning, you could see it on the Dodgers faces. During the Bottom of the third inning they did a dugout shot of the Dodgers dugout, and you could see it on their faces. If you remember every game no matter how many runs they were down, the Dodgers were always high energy, and you could tell that they believed they could come back. But, during that inning in game 7 every player had their heads down, and you could see it on their faces that they knew they were going to lose. During that year Houston had that big hurricane that decimated the city, now I’m not saying that was the reason, but you could tell on the Dodgers faces that they were going to lose. The same goes for this past WS, the last 2 batters never took their bats off their shoulders. Why wouldn’t they at least take a desperation hack? The last two batters just watched every pitch, and struck out without even attempting to get on base. It’s the WS and you don’t even try to get on base? That’s why I think that the MLB told the rays to tank, so that way the WS wouldn’t get dragged out any longer, cause of the positive test of turner. If you read this then sorry for the novel lol, but tell me what you think?

@@BrokeJoker04 It was a false positive dude and a delayed World Series would have created more revenue. The Rays didn’t swing because they were fooled. If it was tanked there would have been leaked whistleblowers. Like Mike Fiers when he blew the whistle on the Astros. Also the Rays did swing, the last pitch the batter got fooled.

@@BrokeJoker04 There is too much money involved in professional sports for it not to be rigged in some way. There always will be someone on the take, affecting the game in some way. Look at that NBA ref! Aside from that, everyone makes too much money too early in their career(Life) to really care about the competition itself.Professional sports are not rigged, although I don't know if I can go as far to say they are fair and balanced. Nothing in life is fair, and officials do blow calls sometime (and sometimes they are corrupt as evidenced in the NBA). However, as a former pro athlete I strongly believe that leagues do as much as they possibly can to uphold the integrity of the game. There are just too many moving parts in most sports games for their to be rigs. Take hockey for example. There are the coaches of both teams, general managers who want to keep their jobs, owners who want their players and team to succeed in order to generate revenue, approx. 20 skaters per team and 3 goalies per team, not to mention 2 linesmen and 2 referees. There is just too much going on in many sports and it would be too obvious for a fix not to mention it would be angerly exposed by anyone who it affected if it were to happen. In a sport like kickboxing or MMA i can understand since there are only 2 players but any team sport with the rare occasional soccer rig is fair and balanced.Pro players make so much money, and make much more if they play very well, they never (or very close to never) throw a game or even shave points. I think at times officials are instructed to favor a team, but not in most games-- so it's closer to "fair and balanced" than "WWE." I'd bet everything I own, if the truth were to be revealed, that in at least 99% of games in major professional sports (MLB,NFL,NBA,NHL) all players are trying to win. I do say players; that doesn't mean officials are always trying to be fair.
What I think is underestimated though, given that college athletes in theory make no money beyond their scholarships, and since what money they're secretly paid is clandestine, make a lot less money than pro athletes, is that I think a lot of college athletes have a much lower price than a pro athlete does to shave points and even possibly throw games on occasion. I think college sports are probably not as clean as pro sports. However, top college players still want to get pro careers and make big money there, so college sports are probably mostly on the up and up-- but if you're looking for fixed games you'd find many more in college sports than pro sports.
This is coming from a die hard Astros fan, I am the biggest Astros fan and love the team but the Rays didn’t tank. I also work for the MLB and I can tell you that it would’ve been leaked that they told the Rays to tank, first you would have to contact the General Manager, 2nd, you would have to carry that message all the way down to the dugout to the manager, let’s not forget that the Turner was found positive in the 7th inning which was when the Dodgers had already scored 2 runs, 3rd You had the risk of the message of tanking being intercepted by news reporters, other managers, and even baseball players. Take for example Mike Fiers, Mike Fiers blew the whistle on the Astros because they were cheating, if such was the case that the MLB told the Rays manager to tell the players to tank, you would expect some bad reactions and players being whistleblowers on the message. What you are saying is illogical. 4th, the players did swing on pitches, Julio urias threw off speed pitches to fool the batters, anyone who has played baseball would have told you that the batters simply got fooled. They swung and hit foul balls, on the last at bat of the game the 2nd strike was a foul ball. So yes, the players were trying as indicated by them fouling off balls. Yes I am a diehard Astros fan who hates the dodgers, but to say this is staged. No. Untrue. At the start of the eighth inning of the Dodgers’ title-clinching win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night, Justin Turner unexpectedly left the game. Edwin Ríos entered as a defensive replacement at Turner’s position at third base.
After the game, news broke that Turner had tested positive for the coronavirus. MLB said it found out about the result in the seventh inning, leading to Turner’s removal from the game before the eighth.
Justin Turner got his results in the eighth. It was essentially impossible to tell the Rays to tank at this point because his test was found o to be “positive” after the dodgers had scored 2 runs. Your reasoning skills really show your lack of common sense and reason skills.

@@los_reyes9517 WHY DO YOU KEEP SAYING THAT?? The first test he took was inconclusive, but the second test he took showed that he had covid, and the false positive test you are referring to was the first test, but the second test came back showing that he had it lol. Also, how would an extended WS create more revenue? Lol, the MLB lost 8.3 billion dollars during the shortened 2020 season, and they are projected to lose upwards of 3 billion dollars this year. So, how much money do you really think one game would have made? It would have cost them more money to have a game 7, then to just cut their loses and end it. Seriously think about it, hotels, staff, meals etc, and they were only allowed to sell 11 thousand tickets out of a possible 40 thousand for all 6 games. Anyways, game 6 was on oct 27th, 2020, and he didn’t clear covid protocols until around November 6th. Also, 5 members of the Dodgers got covid, and it was contact traced back to JT lol, so yet again more misinformation blocking the facts. Ohh, and the first batter did swing, but the last two batters did not swing. Lol, plus Urias stuff wasn’t that good to have fooled two batters in a row.

This kind of thinking always confuses me. There’s no logic behind saying this season shouldn’t count, especially for teams like the Dodgers, Braves, Padres, Yankees, Rays, and even Cubs and Twins.
      1) The only way I could agree with someone questioning the validity of the World Series in 2020 would be if the new playoff format/requirements directly resulted in the winning team having a chance they normally wouldn’t have. Think Brewers, Astros, Reds, etc. Teams that didn’t have good records but made the playoffs because of the expanded format. The Dodgers were a 106 win team in 2019 and added Mookie Betts. There was no way they weren’t going to win the division, and really no way they wouldn’t have the best record in the NL.
      2) Since this is the case for all the top teams (Dodgers, Rays, Padres, Yankees, etc) logic only tells you that the shortened season and the expanded playoffs only provided a DISADVANTAGE for those teams because they had a very short, very unpredictable wild card round that no team has ever faced before.
      3) Every team had the same opportunity, the same chance, to win the World Series. They all faced the same challenges.
Any way you slice it, the World Series counts and anybody who says otherwise is just a salty little bitch, one who’s so immature that they cover their ears and just scream “lalalalalala” so they don’t have to face reality. Grow up, and good luck to your team next year.
