- Hello and welcome to my review of Inkblot vol 1 (#1-6) Emma Kubert and Rusty Galdd. This adorable fantasy comic follows a woman and the black cat she accidentally conjured through multiple realms and back in time. What did you think of this comic?
This looks like such a fun read! What do you think the age range would be for its readers? I have a niece (13 years old) who prefers graphic novels, so I’m thinking of ideas for gifts for her, but I don’t want to accidentally get her something with themes that are too intense or not kid-appropriate!
That's a good question - the comic series on the Hoopla app (where I read this on) has the series marked as "Teen" and I would agree with that assessment. Nothing is gory, adult, or 18+, but there are some fight scenes with monsters, and 13 is on the boundary between kid and teen. If she is already reading other teen graphic novels I would say it would be a good fit- otherwise maybe wait another year or two if she still prefers kid's graphic novels. Hopefully that helps!
