My favorite watch in my collection. I had to sacrifice a Submariner and a Milgauss to get it. No regrets so far. It is a tank.
Legit one of the most impressive watches of all time, IMO.
Agreed
Beautiful watch. The best part is if I’m ever 12,000 feet underwater, I’ll be able to know what time it is.
...and it will be fine if you decide to take a shower with it on.
This is one of the best deepsea divers out there, IMHO. I personally would not have any issues with the size or thickness of the original one. It looks and functions like a true sports timepiece.
Perfect description 👌 Thanks Tim…
Just got mine in last week. So glad I got the 126660. Fits my wrist very well and absolutely love the story behind this watch. The blue fading dial is just stunning. Can't stop looking at it...lol. real shame Rolex did away with the adjustable bracelet while on your wrist but good for those of us who bought the 12660.. Best model IMO.
Got this as a birthday gift. Coming from my previous daily wear as a 44mm Chase Durer this feels just as comfortable. I actually sleep with it on and have no issues.
Love mine. Wears similarly to my Sub 41, just thicker. Glide lock allows for perfect fit.
🤣🤣
Cant compare this to a sub.
This is top quality engineering and the ultimate utility watch.
You couldn’t pay me for a sub.
@@anonymoushuman8962 damn why are you so bitter what did the sub do to you
@@anonymoushuman8962 exactly. I got bored of the Sub after getting the DSSD and never wore it anymore, so moved it on.
I just got a deep sea. Compared it to the display sub they had. No comparison, deep sea all day.
Sweet jesus indeed.
I own this piece. It’s one of my favourite pieces out of my collection of 20 time piece. I only waited 1 week for this too.
It’s superb on the wrist.
God I love Rolex.
One of my favourite watches of all time, such a beautiful watch I had to sell five watches I had to sell a omega planet, Ocean chronograph, orange basil and a Breitling chronomat , 44 GMT and a omega sea master 300 Chrono graph, and a Breitling super avenger And a oris chronograph just to get this one watch however I do not have any regrets it was worth it. Plus I have slowly started buying the watches as I have already sold. I think I just need to get two more and that’s it
Love your reviews Tim.
The Abyss is one of my fave films ever!
A monster of a watch in size, specs, design but looks marvellous and has a super clasp. Not really a practical a daily wearer for me, but that's why I wear my classic Sub Date 16610 more often.
What a beautiful piece
James Cameron is so inspiring that he managed to convince rolex to personalised this beast. Theres no other rolex watch that is fully dedicated to a person apart from this one. Thats why I love every metal of it and Im wearing it now. Bravo tim.👌🏻
The dial is definitely the selling point on this watch. Dark blue fading to pitch black like the deep ocean was a master stroke from Rolex
Beautiful watch I can only dream of owning!
The hummer of sports watches.
Love this watch. If only I had larger wrists I would surely own a Sea Dweller of some sort.
I saw there is a 136660 model. Do you know what is the difference between them ?
Nice blue dial
Do you know why Rolex got rid of this fliplock extension?
I absolutely love mine. My wrist is 16.8 cm and it wears well. Definitely the most original and unique Rolex in my collection
Aha ye def wears well. Sure mate ofc it does.
I seriously need to memorize this review and make a party trick out of it!!! Haha…absolutely amazing info…how in the world did you remember all this data? Incredible! Thank you
Love this beast!!
🤣🤣🤣
Seconds hand backlash (wobble) when setting the time anti-clockwise, is this normal for calibre 3235?
No
have a seiko deepsea mod, one day i will get this real grail watch
Everything is fine at this watch , but if they change the position of the date window
My favourite daily wearer, pure class
True grail of mine! Beauty @ A Beast!
Too chunky for mine, whereas the SD43 is the porridge that is juuuuust right.
Can't see the Laser edged crown at the 6...
This is a truly stunning watch. For anyone concerned about wearability, I highly suggest trying it on a Rubber B strap (the one with that preserves the use of the Glidelock clasp). Totally transforms the watch's comfort. I wear mine 23 1/2 hrs per day.
I'll bite - what happens in the other 30 minutes?
I wear mine on a cloth nato... It wears great.
@@1000lightyrsThe 30 mins is either for a shower or lovemaking.
@@jamess8175lol.
I have first deep blue love it want the challenge
Not sure which JC is wearing in 2023....this one or the new 50 mm titanium version.....excellent watches
How much Canadian?
Best Rolex dial.
Submariner best .
@@f.m2155 not the dial…
Apart from the essay on the bottom half.
While visiting in nyc found this in the wild kinda regret I did t scoop up now
Do you think this watch will hold its value or increase over the years to come ?
Beautiful watch but I would really love a simple 300m rated version - with normal thickness. It would be the best watch ever made….right now, the thickness is a bit silly
By the time you've read all the text on the dial you've forgotten what time it is and just realised you've ran out of air.
10/10
So - to recap -
•Deepsea Fliplock = discontinued
•Deepsea Glidelock = 1 system
•Submariner Glidelock = 1 system
•Sea-Dweller Glidelock = same as Submariner
Same “Glidelock” name but 2 different systems
Its more reliable than the Titan sub that failed miserably
Nice watch, your sound like James Hetfield 🤘
Sold mine and do not regret it. However I had a blast with this one. This is a beautiful and so unique rolex
A beast of a watch. No budgets cut here. Even platinum on the bezel numerals and indexes. 126660 will be more valuable than the new one that actually lost features as Tim said.
All subs have platinum on the bezel indecies. The Yachmaster bezel is solid platinum.
I wear it everyday. Wears comfortably for me😀
With heavy chunky watches, you can’t wear them loose. They have to be worn more tightly than normal, so it doesn’t flop around highlighting the heaviness.
@@piertechinc Apologetic🤣🤣🤣
So it's tough enough to see the titanic. Unlike a certain experimental sub lol.
I need a watch that will survive an implosion outside the Titanic wreck in a poorly designed vessel.
Land on the deck of the titanic LOL!
I'd hate for my watch to fall off my wrist and sink to the bottom of the ocean and land on the deck of the Titanic 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
L'unico Rolex che non si rivaluta nel tempo. Non acquistatelo!!!!!!!
I will buy it for 10k flat.
SD40 is the best Sea Dweller….but Sub no date is the legend
Be careful wearing it around London England .
316L steel doesn't have to be rinsed either. 904L is just a gimmick on a watch.
$199
Ultimate watch donkey= "you need Rolex deep sea to wash your hand with a watch on". Sadly there is plenty of these.
WAY too thick. Shame as the dial is beautiful
Best Rolly for me. Just the size for us bigger guys. I had a chance to buy a Submariner Kermit for a reaaaly good price. It looked like a toy on my wrist. Some ppl need a bigger dial. And Deep sea is it! Real men watch, imposing, it really does make a statement. I hope they will discontinue it soon, this one should be limited edition.
Such a thin practical watch! Haha!
I’ll give you $150 for it, best I can do, takes up a lot of space on my wrist
Why isn't there a lovely zit on the sapphire? What gives?
How do you guys even afford this? I’m young teach me
Don’t ever vote for a progressive or a liberal….work hard and don’t buy into multiculturalism and woke culture…then welcome to the club…52 year old successful white man here…semi retired
@@ugaais yes, you should be right . In Germany we have a red-multiculti-green-leftwing-woke government . Now it is over, they ruin Germany, Economy goes down, german tax-paying people get out of work, companies flee into other countries, crime increases, infrastructure breaks down. Game over soon.
Pretty women, smart clothes, exotic cars, exceptional homes in exclusive areas, and of course, Rolex watches, which makes you a very target.
Ahh yes the carpal tunnel watch.
It should be black
Funny the last thing I will ever do is buy a watch with someone else' name on it how ridiculous. I'll stick to me original three Deep Sea Sea Dwellers thanks.
I want one but almost 20k is absurd...please no one buy it at that price. Not worth it.
glad I stood by what I said. You can pick em up at 12-13k now.
Beautiful watch but I can't imagine anyone actually wanting to wear this giant hunk of steel on their wrist for more than a few minutes. Seems like it'd be terribly uncomfortable... 🤷
I wear it every day. Wears comfortably for me.😀
@@piertechinc Hey, fair enough. My wrist is probably just too scrawny. It's a beautiful piece, so more power to ya ! 👍
I was thinking the same thing until I got it on my wrist. I have been wearing it 24/7 and do not notice it. Wears very nicely and I have a 6.5" wrist. My poor two tone blue sub sits on the winder now.
It took me a while to get the fit correct. For me, removing the wet suit extension did the trick. Once i got that correct, I can wear it all week. Sometime I have to remind myself to put it away and give other watches some attention.
It looks normal on me and actually on the limit of thinking of it as small. I wear it everyday and it's very very comfortable.
Worn by the woke and weak who can’t even swim; let alone dive….woke jokes.
I hate this watch I like the black dial mine
Too much Grafitti rubbish on the Dial, I hate it.
Jeez such strong emotions over a watch…
@@omarion07 No . just being 100% Honest, it looks tacky and silly to me despite the brand. Ruins the asthetics completely
Not worth the price. Make a great life jacket though
I like it
To big. Too much writing on the dial. It’s horrible. Not worth the money.
