Received my Key 37 on Thursday. Zero regrets. Coming from a Kronos 88 and loving it. It may not be for every style of MPC producer, but it's hard not to be making sweet vibes within minutes of opening the box.
The X is my favorite because I need the extra buttons, but the Live II (even though I don't care for it) is the best MPC. It is the only MPC that can be used straight out the box IMMEDIATLY! Portable, no cables or monitors needed, and if power goes out, the battery will kick in.
bro sell me a course on how to get my setup like your everything from camera, visuals, lighting, audio etc like yours. Your joint is on point.

I would start my journey
With the Akai force definitely, especially for producing EDM MUSIC.
Fam you are correct all the MPC are like have 4 sport cars with 1 garage .. lol .. 1 MPC will give you the same result .. What I work like .. After using song mode .. a 16-24 multi track .. to record vocals . Punch In / out .. features.. Demo vocals . Before I export to a Daw.
I hear ya, I had three MPC's, but I got rid of the MPC one because I'd rather have the MPC key 37. I already have the 61 and I have the X SE but those two units are downstairs and they are too big to be taken up and down the stairs. Every time I want to jam in the kitchen or while I'm watching TV, so the key 37 is perfect for moving around the house.
I have the Key 61, the Force and previously the gold Live 2 and the MPC One...The Live 2 is the best all-around. I mean you can be ANYWHERE (Park, Subway, Car, Side-Piece Crib) and create music with it.
@@defcreator187 Actually for a studio setup they’d probably get the Key 61, the bigger more capable larger memory version of the Key 37. I own a Key 61 and it’s amazing.

As a MPC Live 2 owner I bought the MPK Mini Plus about a month ago and it has more than fulfilled any piano key need that I could ever wish for. For me, the MPK Mini Plus with its 37 keys hits the sweet spot between mobility and playability. And the combo with the MPC Live 2 makes it a better and more versatile setup than the MPC Key 37 IMO, although the latter has its price going for it.
The 2 is groundbreaking definitely the best one.

The MPCs with the 4gig ram are better than the ones with the 2gig ram. As a heavy plugin and multi sample user, certain songs that are in my key61 (4gig) will not load in my X or my Live2 because of their lack of ram.
Take the MPC One+, add a 3-octave key bed. Profit!
Seriously, though, it's a sweet package in and of itself; a stand-alone MPC that can easily double as a midi controller for several DAWs.
About the only gripe I have is not having a 2nd USB-A plug like the Live has so one could run an external drive while adding in a class compliant interface or mixer on the second so one doesn't have to deal with dongle hell.
I do wish you could update the internal drive like some of the other MPCs but they did put a bunch of features into and an SD card can achieve roughly
What controller would you recommend for a Live 2 (would love having onboard speakers and a battery; thinking of adding a batter pack for my K37) with 37 full-size keys and aftertouch?

I think Weeeee need the big update not more gear with low spacs.its 2024 the aranger in the mpc standalone like the live 2 .. will make the the diference to other companies.becouse of the Touchscreen at the mpcs .i love akai and the mpc its everyting buid in but at the end we have to open the other daw.

At first I had a lot of questions and désappointement.
I use an mpc live 2 with Arturia microlab keyboard, and wished that it has a built-in keyboard instead of speakers.
I was upset the mpc key 37 have no battery (in addition to other missing features), then I realized that it wasn't a portable unit, but more studio oriented.
In this situation it appears that it is a good, affordable product.
Despite everything, I'm impatiently waiting for a portable mpc with battery and keyboard. A mix of mpc live and lpk 25 (with wheels) ?
Be careful, don't pimp it out too much because you might ruin its resale value. I've got mines on order, I didn't wanna buy the first batch just in case it had any issues, but I'm waiting for the second batch and hopefully everything's gonna be OK.
I don’t see the hype behind the 37 other than the price and the color and stripped it down and made it portable. I’m not sold on it because they haven’t completed the issues and sound quality on the earlier MPCs.

In my honest opinion ( i had the live 1 , mpc one and now the mpc live 2 retro) the best mpc will be the mpc one with built in speakers and battery

I’ve gotta go with the Force. The 64 pads is more than a full sized keyboard, and you can play it in a different way. Force is the future. Gimmee an updated Force with MPC style I/O. Also, minor thing but why did they take away individual outs on this MPC Key 37? They were already being stingy with those compared to the older units that had up to 8…16 if on a rack. You almost need to hook this thing up to an interface now, which I have to do with my Force and don’t like. It’s dope, though.

Yeah. Too many MPCs for sure. They need to put out a Force SE or a Force Keys 61.
The best MPC is the the MPC that’s best for YOU. For me it’s the X, I don’t make music on the go, ALL the buttons are laid out I hated all the multiple menu dives on the Live II.
Coming from a 2000XL & Fantom-S…then to a Renaissance….I believe that Akai did something special when they went the hybrid route 2012 (REN > Studio) to 2017 to current (Touch > X > Live > One > Key). They were falling behind N.I. before that…but now they’re back on top! The current top 3 to me are: Live II (bc of it portability/ built in speaker) > Key 61 (bc of it’s design) > & Key 37 (bc of it’s form factor…even tho I hate the color 🔴….this isn’t a NORD or Akai MAX) Lol. The 37 is so practical bc of these reasons: reach out your arms in front of you….that’s the width of the key 37. 37 keys are also the width of your computer keyboard. It’s literally the “sweet spot” kb length to me. 🎹 PS Thanks 4 teaching me Reason 4️⃣ back in the day! 😁 💪🏾
Also the Akai mpk mini plus is just about a inch wider than the Live II, so 37 is KEY! 😉
I understand you have the akai force they are hard to get rid of. Mine is still brand new in the box. If I can’t sell it and no one wants to buy it I might want to get some good use out of it. How do I hook up my Akai force Together with the Akai MPC 37 key. Let me know what your thoughts are.

@@marcuselbow how do I incorporate it with everything I’m doing with the 37 and the force. so my understanding you said don’t sell the force correct? I’ve been playing in church for 25 years. I play piano for a long time and I play every Sunday I play every day because I have to learn songs all the time so I know how to go through the process of making music from beginning to end and some of the stuff these guys are doing as producers. I can do a lot better because I learned how to make songs from beginning to end because I have to play them that way in church. I looked online and see Zaytoven and I was like wow I said I can do all that just like him so I have my post video and I will keep the force and work with it and I get my 37 Key in couple days. and don’t let me forget I play bass guitar that’s my main instrument I’m playing that since I was 18 so I’ve been playing both for all these years and I still have my first keyboard the ensoniq sq1 plus . So me buying the 37 key wasn’t a problem I bought keyboards workstations from 1990 EPS 16 Kurzweil 2000 how old every one of the motif series. So right now I have my FL 61 my Yamaha motif XF7 my little Patty moog MPC, renaissance MPC stand alone2 Akai force I do have a full studio and I hope it all is well with your wife when I saw that I start praying for her. I dont care for the Live II. Not worried about that speaker. Just ordered the 37, but i still dont think its the best unit. Right now the best unit is the X in my opinion,but everybody likes each unit for their own reasons.
