Andy mentioned back in the day you had to pair MPCs with sound modules like Motifs and JVs. Even with the new synths, I still do.
Yeah. - Some people still do. I still have my Motif Rack I use with all my other kit from time to time.

I really appreciate the thing he said about DAWs. I am definitely not on the DAWless life. I LOVE using a DAW. Ableton is my home. Haha. But there is room for an isolated hardware environment in the process.

I recently sold a Live II. Needed a keyboard with it and got the MPK Mini Plus, but the pairing just was clumsy to use. Wires on devices meant to be ultimately portable. And which device to put on my lap and which to the side? For a desk-based setup, that's fine. For my travel/sofa-lap thing, i just went back to the same controller plus the Macbook Air. But, this makes more sense. It would be so much better with a battery, though-like the Live II. No speakers, just a battery, please....

Mah. I mean it's a steal for the tiny difference from MPC one plus. BUT, 2GB ram vs 4GB? That's such a lame move by Akai IMHO. I have to dig into specs to really see what we are missing out from MPC ONE or Key 61.

Andy I suggest Akai release another version of this 37 key MpC loaded with a lot of stuff. It may cost more but there is a niche demand for more synths and drums.

MPC ALL have Bluetooth MIDI keep that in mind guys before spending on new gear if you already have live or live 2 or X whatever. No new advantages
Pro Tip: stop adjusting your levels with the faders. use the drum efx gain feature or the level knob in the sample tab.
All it needs is more ram and a speaker. Then it would wipe the floor with everything else.

So basically this is an mpc X/Live with a midi keyboard attached. The workflow seems just as bad as ever.
Very disappointing that there's no battery - and Korg didn't even bother to use USB-C PD to make it possible to use their new portable machine portably... ?? 🤔
My Akai Mpc Key 37 that I bought arrived yesterday from Thoman & not able to activate my plugins etc. like many other people , I put in the carton is going back to Thoman for a refund well done Akai I hope you loose Money like you made me loose money & time, because I had to pay customs on it that i will not take back , Bravo Mr Andy Mac, I think you need to change your name to Mr Andy PC IBM because you are full of bugs & not honest with these video you make , you are not responsible too
Also received mine and can't update it or try the trials
But the pads are shitty. Double hits here and there. Rubbish. Please also dont talk about the old days every time a digital instrument comes out. We know how hard it was its not like that anymore for a while!
