    When you said the upper part would be painted at the end....I was like....painting over walnut veneer?
    You must do a decent amount of veneer work to have the confidence to seam that front panel in the middle. No way I'd nail that seam lol

    Love your content. The only reason I think your videos don’t receive millions of views are because the processes are beyond that of an intermediate cabinet maker/ carpenter. I have been building cabinets for a few years now and work a remodeling contractor and I’ve learned so much. Would like to see a video on how you go about decorative toe kicks and applied toe kicks.

    Great video.
    I was watching to see
    how to trim veneer
    on the curves.
    Unfortunately that part was skipped??
    But i learnd a lot thank's.

      I actually just trimmed it with a razor blade then sanded . So that part was easy it was the laying it down without getting any wrinkles that was hard which was why I wasn’t focused on that actual filming . Will do better next time !
      Thanks !

    Looks like you do great work, but may I suggest that if your goal is to monetize CZcams try slowing down the time lapse to 2x speed. Makes the video much more comfortable to watch.

    Another cool video and concept. I’m glad to read that it’s held up for eight months or more. I’m curious if you used a special finish for it? I imagine it would get greasy over time, like any hood.

    • @cabinetwise
      @cabinetwise  Před rokem +1

      Thanks ! Yes it’s been in over a year now still looking perfect which I expect will be the case for a very long time to come
      It’s finished with conversion varnish
      Yes regular wipe down cleaning would be beneficial . Grease won’t stick to conversion varnish the same way it would to regular paint it can be wiped down more easily at least in my experience.

  • @justinmarr9926
    @justinmarr9926 Před 2 lety +1

    Hey! Why’d you chose mdf instead of plywood? I’m looking for reasons as I’m getting mixed advice. Also what glue did you use for the corners and laminating the mdf? What glue for the veneer? How well has it stood up to moisture and heat?

    • @cabinetwise
      @cabinetwise  Před 2 lety

      I actually just wanted to try it out . Both ways would be fine . I used tight-bond glue which I rolled on with a paint roller . That was about 8 months ago now and it’s installed and has held up great so far . I don’t anticipate any problems .

    “ that music is amazing I mean I threw away all my music and replaced it with that!! I mean I never thought hey you a pro craftsman you can learn so much faster watching videos at 10x and attached to just hardcore blazing music”!
    I know it’s boring to you however; that’s how ppl like me who are licensed and bonded learn by watching a pro and picking up tips & habits of a pro carpenter! I do finish and some cabinets but would like to expand my knowledge base! I hv done range hoods but was all jacked to see this then wow?
    I know I can fly a kite ? But really I want to learn? By the way almost all your teaching channels skip the music or severely limit it?

      I really try to make everything simple so it started with sketching out a template on 1/4” plywood then refining it to get the right shape . Then everything is built off the template
