Can the horizon level stay on during recording? To my knowledge, the only Canon to allow this in recent memory is the R5C. Can the R52 (or even R1 I guess) do this? Jordan Drake says that it doesn't, but Paule Porter says it does. Any way to get the official confirmation on this?
The specs of the R1 are not that much better than the R3 to be described as a flagship, it’s very obvious the R1 is more like an R3 ii that makes more sense and would be easier to comprehend if the R3 was the R1 and the R1 was the R1 ii,
like i said before after all these years of waiting this R1 is a huge disappointment. To a great extent. Such a big failure that it threatens to knock the entire brand off my No.1 favorite for 4 decades. Epic failure.

There is no 30 min record limit on the camera. Limits are battery, memory card, and camera temperature.

R5 II:
Mechanical Shutter: 1/200 sec.
Elec. 1st-curtain: 1/250 sec.
R1:
Mechanical Shutter: 1/200 sec.
Elec. 1st-curtain: 1/320 sec.
Thank you! Was really hoping for a higher synch given Sony announced the global shutter last year (in the hands of photographers for almost 6 months).
Except for the Full HDMI and the improved auto focus, the R1 and also the R5II have for me a lot of unnecessary and useless futures
