CULTIVATING THE DOULA CARE TEAM: Giving heart and meaning to teamwork
It is of the utmost importance to know who we are when we commit ourselves to this work with the call that it brings us, who we are in the container of our community, who we are as part of the body of the team, in order to be able together to provide support and offer the service that we intend.
Compassionate accompaniment work focuses on self-awareness, self-reflection and self-responsibility, grounded in intention. We cultivate and promote a way of being, of being in the moment, of entering into presence and thus being able to create and sustain safe spaces.
Loss, grief, aging, and death are human events, not medical events; they are not problems but natural conditions of human experience.
As Life, Death and Transition Doulas, it is our charge to cultivate, provide and defend the human approach, considering all aspects of the being - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual - in the care of the grieving, the dying and their loved ones.
