  • In this video we talk about how long to visit Universal Orlando Resort. When you begin Universal Orlando vacation planning, this is one of the first questions that comes up. We get asked all the time, “How many days do you need at Universal Orlando??” and the answer is, it depends! Of course, the longer you stay the more you can accomplish, but it’s still possible to experience a LOT of the resort in a short amount of time. So in today’s video, we discuss what you can reasonably get done depending on how long your Universal Orlando vacation is. There are several factors that go into this, such as when you’re visiting Universal Orlando 2021, whether or not you have express pass, what you actually want to accomplish at the parks, and how hard you’re willing to go! Universal Orlando trip planning can seem like a daunting task, but it’s all worth it once you get there!
    If you’re looking for some tips and tricks to get the MOST out of your Universal studios vacation, check out our Universal Orlando trip planning guide! I think 4 days is perfect. As a team member, I encourage on-site guests to go back to their hotels, and chill at the pool, etc to break it up, and make it a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.

      On-property hotels are the biggest rip-off deal in theme park history. Paid $200 a night for a crappy small room with cheap furniture that was falling apart and hard beds (Cabana Bay). For $200 a night off-property, yet within a $3 uber ride of the parks - you can get MUCH nicer hotel experience.
      Yes, if you don't care how much it costs and just want the experience of it - I guess - but as a price conscious consumer - I have a hard time swinging the idea of the on-site hotels, especially after my experience.

    On our first visit, with a three day trip my girlfriend and I completed both parks in a day each. From open to close we rode every ride and visited every shop. We used the third day to see the shows we missed. Walked over 8 miles each, it was a blast.

    We've always done 1 day for each park plus Halloween Horror Nights and managed to do everything in that time and don't even stay until close. HHN gives you a good opportunity to do most of the major rides at Universal Studios with very little wait and taking advantage of early park admission and just having a good game plan really helps. Also going off season, weekdays, not having children, getting express passes, doing the shows and meals during peak times, taking advantage of short lines for indoor attractions during inclement weather, etc are all things that can help get a lot done

    • @ThePughTwo
      @ThePughTwo  Před 2 lety

    We had four days and it seemed perfect. Having unlimited express passes by staying at Portofino Bay helped a lot! We only used early entry once, on our first day, which was last Friday at 8am. The 7 pm early entry is just too early for us. Saturday we did early entry for Volcano Bay and even made it to both the other parks that same day.

    Every year, often twice a year, Universal does a Buy 2 Days - Get 3 Free Days w/ Hotel package. If you're not interested in an AP, then keep an eye out for this special. You can do everything, depending on time of year, multiple times & relax with 5 days at Universal with no need for Express Pass. (Although the UXP is a great thing to have if you can do it!)

    • @ThePughTwo

      They absolutely run some good deals from time to time! Our argument is that multi day tickets are usually close to the price of an annual pass, but without any of the added benefits. If you’re already paying that much, you might as well upgrade! They’re not right for everyone, but it can’t hurt to look lol

    When it comes to being able to do everything in the parks, what are your thoughts surrounding the VIP tours? Do you think it's worth the price?
    Confession - since I've never been to Universal I'm planning on doing a Private VIP tour on my first visit. I can watch a ton of videos and still get out there like a deer in headlights and not know where to start or become overwhelmed lol. So I figured the best way to go about it would be to have a guide. It's a healthy price tag but from what I've researched it seems to be worth it. So that would be 2 days both parks (of course the second day will have to be express pass lol) and 1 full day at the waterpark. Granted I reserved two days in between for rest and exploring Citywalk. In my mind it seems like a good plan just a little expensive.

    You definitely need a full day at Volcano Bay, especially right now because their hours are shorter. We got in at 9:30 for early park admission and stayed until close and still didn’t get everything done that we wanted to...even with being able to Tapu Tapu in for rides from our private cabana.

      @@ThePughTwo I should add, we had 2.5 theme park days. The first day, all Harry Potter and Jurassic Park took up our whole day. On day 2, we went quickly through IOA in the morning and spent the majority of the day completing everything at Studios. On our last half day, we repeated our favorites in both parks which was 5 rides total. We got all attractions done minus shows and we had Express Pass bc we stayed at Hard Rock. I was surprised at how much time the FULL Harry Potter experience takes up.

      Hi Raymond! We absolutely think you can do all of our top 8 Wizarding world things in one day! If you’re just wanting to visit one park, that’s really going to be a personal choice. We LOVE Diagon Alley, it’s probably our favorite area in either park, but the castle and Hagrid’s are in Hogsmeade. As far as the early park admission goes, Universal is currently doing early park at Universal Studios only. It is only unavailable for Islands of Adventure. We hope this helps! We’d be happy to answer any other questions, as well!

    • @ThePughTwo
      @ThePughTwo  Před 3 lety

      When we’re there for HHN and are doing like 20k steps a day, we’ll get ice from the ice machine and soak our feet in the bathtub. It HURTS but your feet do feel better afterwards. Also rubbing your feet at the end of the day can help. We’ve tried to “train” our feet by walking more before we go, but we’ve learned your feet are just gonna hurt lol. Take some Tylenol with you, too!

    How would you factor HHN in with regards to length of stay? We're going for 4 days in Sept, I was thinking 1 day for US, 1 for IoA, morning until 5ish for VBay, eat dinner, do HHN, then on day 4, first half of the day hitting things we wanted to do again then HHN in the evening again. Think 4 days will be reasonable for all that? Love the videos!

    • @ThePughTwo
      @ThePughTwo  Před 3 lety +1

      There are two things you have to take into consideration with Halloween Horror Nights: 1. HHN doesn’t happen every night, it’s only on select nights in September and October. You can find the exact dates on their website. 2. HHN lasts pretty late into the evening and you may need to sleep in pretty late the next day to recover. We always book a long stay during HHN so we don’t kill ourselves over 3-4 days, but it can absolutely be done in that amount of time. These are just things to think about!

    I'm looking at planning a week long trip (fly in Saturday, fly out Saturday) for either early September this year or early February next year. I plan staying in one of the on-site hotels but also golfing a couple days as well. I assume getting a seasonal pass is the best option just for the flexibility? Is there any reason to get one of the more expensive annual passes?

    • @ThePughTwo
      @ThePughTwo  Před 3 lety +1

      This is a great question! We made a series of videos breaking down the differences between the annual passes, but basically the two higher tier passes get you discounts on food and drink in the parks and Citywalk, as well as on merch. If you plan on visiting several times, it could be worth it to get the preferred pass. If you are looking to buy passes for multiple people, a great option is to get the preferred pass for one person, and everyone else get the seasonal pass. This way, you still get the discounts but everyone else has the cheaper pass. Another thing to keep in mind is that you can always upgrade your pass if you decide to come during blockout dates, etc. I hope this helps!

    • @ThePughTwo
      @ThePughTwo  Před 3 lety +1

      I think our suggestion would be to stay consecutive nights at the premier hotels. So for example, you could fly in on a Friday and stay at one of the Endless Summer resorts and then Saturday, move to one of the premier hotels. You could stay at that hotel for 2 nights, which gets you 3 days of express passes. Then you could move back to endless summer, or just fly out late the day you check out!
