2009 National Sportsmanship Awards: Grapevine Faith High School (Texas) Football Team

Hosted annually in St. Louis and produced by the St. Louis Sports Commission, the National Sportsmanship Awards honored the best sportsmanship stories, moments and people of the past year. The event showcased extraordinary examples of class and character by athletes, coaches and sports personalities from across the country. Representing all levels of sports -- pro, college, high school and youth -- award recipients were recognized for their integrity, selflessness, kindness, and perseverance.

Wow, Grapevine has total class. I went to Midland Trinity in 2001 and we actually played Grapevine in the playoffs. We won 28-7 and it was one of the most memorable games I ever played in. Grapevine lost with dignity. What a great team.
