You make your father proud in heaven I have no doubt. Never stop doing what your doing man. The world needs more people like you.
Right in the feels. That's what sports is all about. Complete repsect to them both
I have nothing but the greatest respect I could possibly give for Demetrius. The world needs more people like him so badly, thank you for being an astonishing person.
Demetrius is a great young man that will continue to do great things in life. Unfortunately there aren't enough people like him in the world.
I love Demetrius so much and wish there were more awesome kids like him out there.
I read the comments on here. What this young man did was really great. My hats off to him. Although one thought seemed to be passed up by everyone. His parents did a fantastic job in raising him, and instilling his virtues. Though his father passed, both parents did a great job raising him right.
The problem with our country is there are less and less people giving their children these values. Even my own dad failed to do so. People think its so much cooler and funner to be mean and nasty. That's what all the "popular" and "famous" people are in our country. I bet no one remembers Demetrius now. People like Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian need to stop getting famous. People need character. We need to start caring about others feelings just as much as ourselves
Guys, don't say something like "I wish I had a friend like that", although that isnt a bad thing. Instead say something like "I need to be a person like that"
You both are exceptional young men. Thank you Demetrius for your compassion.
An awesome display of compassion and sportsmanship. Bravo, sir.
Wish more young men show more compassion and understanding for others as he did. A great example of integrity and sportmanship. Michael showed strength & determination and we are glad he got to experience being on the mat. Demetrius may the road shine for you in all you do..
Demetrius, you gave that young man something to smile about and that he will carry with him probably for the rest of his life. You, sir, are one of the great ones. May you be blessed on your life's journey.
If all young men were like Demetrius, this world would be sooo much greater to live. You've served your father well!
As a high school wrestler myself I can say that Demetrius is a great example for wrestlers and others to follow.
Sometimes I think the world is coming to an end. I think that we're destroying ourselves down a path to annihilation but then I see stories like this that make me love human beings and how compassionate we can be.
These are the stories the news needs to be reporting.
Not the death and tragedy that sells headlines and scares people but the heart warming tales and beautiful uplifting stories that remind people that we should be thankful that we're breathing.
Great job young man! You give this world hope!
I agree with Colby's comments. As a father of 3 wrestlers, you have made your father very proud. Well Done Demetrius!
How ? How ? How can someone be so compassionate. Demetrius de Moors! Hatsoff. Respect! - Respect from India!
you can always tell the size of a person by how they treat the handicapped - this young man is a giant in my book
My heart is full watching this video - What a testament to this young man's character and family. It would be an honor to know him. Wow.
Demetrius, your father is beaming with pride.
This leaves me speechless. Absolutely phenomenal.
as someone who wrestled for 3 years in high school this hits me right in the feels
I went to school with Big Meech and he really is one of the most genuinely nice people you'll ever meet.
Demetrius you truly are a respectable man and I'm glad I got to know you a bit through high school.
Way to go Demetrius! I applaud you. In a world that shows so much selfishness, you are a wonderful example of humility and compassion. May God bless your continuing efforts in wrestling!
wonderful... my only sadness is for the 6 people who disliked this video and act of selfless compassion.
He deserves this award. Keep it up.
You know the phrase you are what you eat? I think this kid ate a legend
we need more guys like this
Way to go, Demetrius! Our hero in many ways!
this story choked me up. hats off to both of you!!!
Faith in humanity restored!!
Awesome, that will be heard for eternity.
I love what wrestling teaches and this young man is my boys hero
Demetrius de Moors, a class act.
Great and amazing kid!!! Dad would be proud!!! That is what life should be and what goal of sports should be...love that he is humble
Thank you! And God bless you both!
Pure class! Well done young man.
okay yeah, teared up a bit.
yeah me too. i must be allergic to wrestling.
This is amazing.
Whomever says it's not a big deal, would have no inkling of doing such a good and selfless act.
What a great kid!
Comrades Supports this! this is a wonderful story
I recognized Mike's voice too and wondered the same thing. Then I saw in the description that this was a piece he did for the Musial Awards which they hold here in St. Louis. Perhaps there was a local story done in GA about this, but I think this says more about the young man doing a good act without having to let the world know. He may not have won a medal, but through his act of selflessness, both of these young men are able to inspire others.
Amazing Demetrius!
This made me happy
I'm speechless. Awesome.
So much respect:)
What a legend
Very sweet story.
God bless you, little man. You rock!
What a good man. Hell yeah to a great family.
Demetrius de Moors, you rock!!
so dope
awesome
Faith in Humanity Restored...
I love this guy. I'm a big fan, Demetrius!
Demetrius de Moors YOU are MY hero, a great young man
I DONT WANNA CRY!!!!!!!!!!!! :'(
Class Act...
God Bless to Demetrius!
Thank you Based Meech
i did a very similar thing my senior year, i knew it was the right thing to do
Why would anyone thumbs down this?
Internet trolls, miserable human beings! !!
Excellent news - this is what we should be seeing more of on news channels, not streams of constant bad news
Strong black nuclear family, raising respectable young men w/ heart and character. Father was an officer in the United States military and gave his life as a war hero in the service of his country. Yes America, this does happen but you'll hardly ever hear about it beyond the standard narrative about minority families.
Well done young man!
Men of character arise.
my allergies are acting up again
we are all human
Of course these aren't tears. I was cutting onions in a really dusty room...
I just got something in both my eyes. :)
Stupid invisible ninjas chopping onions in my room again...
why is my news anchor (Mike Bush) from St. Louid doing a story in Atlanta? Dont get me wrong, its a great story regardless, but where are all the crews of their fellow Georgians?
song?
I feel.useless compared to this lad...brilliant
Well...I am going on a feel trip...
Feel trip lmao
Just over here, chilling by this onion chopper....
LOL
Honestly though, would anyone not do what he did???
this family was on the mormon.org channel!!
This spam was on the shutthefuckup.org channel!!
I feel bad that people think this is such a big deal... Who wouldn't do the same? What kind of person would try and humiliate a kid with Downs?
I really don't get how what he did was so special. I'm pretty sure every single person I have ever wrestled with (save a couple) would gladly do the same exact thing. I agree with Demetrius here - what he did was nothing special...
So they staged a fake exhibition match with nothing at risk and a predetermined outcome? I guess that's something nice, but lets not go overboard.
Propaganda for what...?
OMG...really? Why do we make such a big deal out of this stuff? Yeah it was a nice thing to do, but so is opening the door for an elderly lady. I don't know why they try and take these things to another level. It's a nice thing to do, but not worthy of any special attention.
Probably the worst put together clip ever.
This is a pure propaganda piece...
