Did you notice how Nick Mason (drummer) takes off his headset halfway through 'Comfortably Numb' to enjoy it even more?
Just in time to hear the 1st Gilmour solo 😎
They were totally in a trance, aware that they were living for the last time an experience that elevated them to the rank of Music Greats of All Times.
There are simply no words to describe the genius of this band, they are beyond incredible. You can really see Roger was loving it that night.
I’ve been a life long die hard fan of this band, and as such lived every minute of their being separated over those 25 years. This 20 minutes of music in 2005 was a gift we old time fans never thought we’d see again. Imagine not playing together for 25 years, rehearsing for a few hrs, and then performing together like they’d never missed a beat. This was an emotional end of a 25 year wait. I’m not going to lie. I cried like a baby when the first notes of Breathe rang out through the night. I am so grateful they buried the hatchet for a day. It meant a lot to their fans.
It was exactly the same for me.
Agreed
100% agree. I’m not ashamed to admit that I got teary-eyed as well. As much as everyone (justifiably) talks about Queen’s iconic Live Aid set, all things considered, Pink Floyd at Live 8 is every bit as momentous/iconic/to me. The list of bands that could go toe to toe with Queen in terms of performance/quality of the material/backstory/songs is *very* short. Then when realizing in retrospect this would be the last time all 4 members will be on the stage at the same time, it takes it to an entirely different level for me.
What a musical lesson they give here to younger people.
That's the way you play in a concert.
Listen and learn.
Thank you Roger and David, for putting your differences aside, for this beautiful reunion performance. ❤️🎸❤️🎶🎸❤️🎶❤️🎸
AMAZING. Such a shame the original 4 will never be again.
@Gatto R.I.P. Syd.
You mean the original with Syd and no gilmour ? Because I agree.
This was the classic lineup, the original were 5 (without David Gilmour.) and included Syd Barrett and Bob Klose.
@@stuartallan9914I think he means Richard Wright is no more here
Geniuses on earth. Thank the heavens they arrived while we were alive. ❤️🎼
I loved when Nick Mason yanked off the headphones mid song.
It was like I gotta hear this.
It was like "This is the last time I'll ever hear this like this... EVER!"
Each time he plays this solo, time is standing still for thousands of people there
I love Gilmours choice in sound for this reunion, that guitar is just 🙏
To be honest I prefer that from Pulse or Pompeii, but yeah, this is quite different from standard Pink Floyd/David Gilmour and it adds an extra layer of drama, especially in the second solo of Comfortably Numb, which just gets louder and louder!

This and the Kashmir live from Celebration day proves the old adage that class is permanent, when you have this level of talent you never lose it, RIP Rick Wright, the world is a lesser place without your music.
Right on man...Rick was the forgotten member of the band but meant so much to the music up until Waters kicked him out during The Wall. SAD
Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin........You can't beat them!!!!
The mix on this was sooo so good. Sounds
almost exactly like the studio versions, or better. Dave's voice never sounded better.
That came out in '75 and thirty years later they still sound fresh. Absolutely a great performance. I think maybe your guys love for them renewed my appreciation. Rock on 🎵🎶🎵🎹🎹
they actually started in 65 and Gilmour joined in 67
@@hazzogaming5512 I was referring to this song but you are right about them being around much earlier. I enjoyed this video.
'73 was when this came out to be precise
I watched the whole day , as each artist/band played in anticipation for Pink Floyd. They were on 2nd last before Paul McCartney, by that time I was so emotional seeing them together , kind of knowing it would never happen again. Think tears ran down my cheeks for the whole 24 mins they were on . Absolute geniuses , in a genre and league of their own. Enough said
Cool reaction guys
Their ability to sound as good or better live as studio is amazing in it's own rite. R.I.P. Richard.
Thank you so much for doing my request 🎸✨🔥♥️ Love you guys!!! You made this old lady’s day ♥️ I am so happy you loved it & I got to see your reaction to it ☺️ Pink Floyd will never be duplicated ♥️ They are a once in a generation talent 🤘🏼
Good choice!!🎵🎶🎵
When Roger is speaking during the beginning of Wish You Were Here, you can tell he's hoping that David Gilmour will look at him and embrace the special moment with a smile. But David can't bring himself to turn himself towards Roger's direction, leaving Roger very hurt. You can see the disapointment in his face. Watch the way he shrugs his head and rolls his eyes when he says "Anyway" That moment always leaves me with just a tad bit of anger along with the sadness knowing that tension is the reason this band never continued. The body language spoke just as loudly as the PA system that evening.
For Anyone Who Might Not Have Heard It Yet,, I Have Some Bad News,, Dusty Hill Bassist For ZZTOP Passed Away Today At 72 Years Old..R.I.P. Dusty..Thanks For All You Gave Us. 🙏 ❤
I didn't hear. WOW, I love ZZZ Top. Thanks for the update.
@@aileenturrietta7553 lots of tribute reactions on CZcams.
It's time for Marooned 🙏 speaking of incredible sound of Gilmour guitar
I seen Pink Floyd live 5 times, Animals tour in 1977 once, Momentary Lapse tour in the 80s 3 times and once on the Division Bell tour in 93 or 94. It is much more than a concert when they play, it is an experience not to be equaled, ever.
Jammy sods 😎
Happy birthday 28 July to the gentle soul Richard Wright, you’re missed. Lovely to spot David’s wife Polly & their 2 children in the audience. Thanks for playing this video 👍
I’m glad someone has reactors to the reunion concert, so thank you for doing so! In my opinion they all lived in the moment during this short set. During Money I’ve felt that David was trying to see if Roger could match his output during the song, which they both killed! I also feel that this live version of Comfortably Numb is the best live version because it was the last one with them together, David had already perfected his closing solo part and again, they all were in the moment, as seen when Nick tosses his headphones aside, as if they knew it could very well be their last time playing together which unfortunately it was.
I wish the three of them could do one last show, but that’s selfishly asking for too much. Thank you for the reaction video.
Happy birthday Richard Wright, rest in piece master🎹
Little fun fact: The woman you see waving her Hands at 22:00 is Polly Samson, Davids Wife, with two of their Children.
Congratulations bros! You’re now Floyd vets. I’ve been to scores of concerts here in Los Angeles but by far, the best was the Floyd at the Rose Bowl in 1995. I saw Roger at Staples about 2-3 years ago. Both were as gratifying as you can imagine.
I was lucky enough to see this lineup twice in my life! Once in 1974 for the "Dark Side of The Moon" tour & in 1977 for the"In The Flesh" tour! I've seen close to 100 concerts in my life from AC/DC to the GREAT "ZEPPELIN" and just about every great band in between alphabetically!! Although some of those concerts had GREAT music and were AWESOME!! nobody ever came close to putting on a show like Pink Floyd!!!! We got to see and recognize Mozart in our time! The incredible Brilliance and depth of their lyrics, the gargantuan mind-bending visual brilliance is simply un matched!! In a way, actually a good way Pink Floyd kind of ruined all subsequent concerts by other great Acts! I also saw them in 87 and 94 and even without Rodger Waters were still phenomenal! I just consider myself lucky....
PINK FLOYD FOREVER❤❤❤❤
Damn. I forgot how great they are. What music I grew up to. The 50 60 70 and 80s. Unbelievable the talent with all the music. No auto tune!!! No lip syncing!!
Great to see David and Roger both smiling here. Being a long long time fan it was so cool.
WELCOME TO THE RIDE WE ALL CALL "PINK FLOYD"
Worth it just to see Roger smiling again , Well ever ,,
Absolutely sublime performance. Crappy Director forgot that the great and unique Richard Wright was on stage… Richard’s performance was out of this world good. The four of them played a blinder. Nick played with such feeling and emotion. Roger was clearly very very happy to be there. and David well what can I say? It should be made illegal to be that good The guy is an alien from Andromeda.
It was emotional back in 2005,and it still is in 2021. Perfect timing for this reaction as it was Rick's birthday yesterday. He would've been 78 😪 Nobody knew he would only be with us for another 3 years, but this special moment will never be forgotten. Yes he played on David's tour the following year but with his 3 bandmates, this was extra special. I went to the Pink Floyd Exhibition In 2017 In London, and at the very end in a small room,This version of Comfortably Numb was played at the very end. With lasers and added sound,it felt like you were there with them at a live concert. I cried lol. And let's not forget Tim Renwick (guitars/bass) and Jon Carin (Slide guitar/keys) helping out. Both Legends from the 87 and 94 Pink Floyd World Tours.
I'm 50 years old and u guys put a smile on my face enjoying music I grew up with!! Pink. Floyd Metallica Van Halen Journey Black Sabbath then Tool and Pearl Jam..What happened to music my friends??
Young people! 1967-1977 - Explore and embrace it!
Did you get to see them live? I know they played in Gdansk, maybe other cities, when Russia opened up. I hope you had a chance to experience the best band in the world....PINK FLOYD
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to see them live, then David Gilmour as Pink Floyd live about 10 times since 1970 to 1965, then once or twice
in different cities. They are my favorite as a band, they connect with you on an emotional level,
stimulate all your senses, and mind. I have been back up singer and my husband was a musician of many instruments guitars, keyboards, saxophone, flute.
Keep enjoying all styles of music
Thank you very much, good night
Pink Floyd forever!!! Great reaction guys
OMG, GOD EXIST. AND PLAY THE GUITAR
I AND IT'S CALLED DAVID GILMOUR,,,,, Perfect.
the guitar is Black Start sold for 4 million dollars.
react to in any tongue live in pompeii please it is magical what Gimour does with 70 years.
Pink Floyd will be and is the best band in history by far.
Dick Perry..... Same sax player on the original recording.
People get lyrical ( and quite rightly so) when they talk about the performance of Queen at Live Aid in 1985, but this is just as great and magical from Pink Floyd in 2005. Sad to think of what could have been, but at least we have this to remind us what a great band Pink Floyd was. RIP Richard Wright.
I was privileged to attend Live 8 in 2005 as a front of stage photographer plus I sat in on their rehearsal. The reaction for me was the look on the faces of the audience. Well done boys.
First and last Re-union ...
The performances of the four mature performers created an infinite space called "Pink Floyd," which instantly dominated the venue.
A performance full of power just like a Big Bang…
An unmistakable legendary live concert!
I was there. We all made a donation in the UK and lucky ones got tickets from a lottery. I got lucky. Musical history.
Its so sad that whenever a band has two exceptional musical masterminds like Roger and David they tend to fall apart. Like they cant get to fit both their egos in one band. Genesis is probably the next best example. This performance however pleased so many die hard fans that have been waiting like forever.
So wish I would have got to see The Wall at Nassau Coliseum in 80 was just too young. Saw them in Tampa Stadium in 87 and again in May 94. When they played in Tampa they had to close the airspace around Tampa airport because pilots were complaining of the light show and being rerouted. Classic!!!
If they'd played like shit it would still have been an amazing reunion. Bit the fact that they CRUSHED IT after so many years of animosity and not playing together???
This was a gift to fans. And proof we can all put aside ourselves differences, come together, and make something special happen.
FABULOUS! I love Nick Mason …the most unlikely rock star ever….looks like a farmer!
Many will disagree, but I think this performance of Comfortable Numb is the best version they’ve ever done live. Pure emotion and the perfect goodbye
i couldnt click on this fast enuf , I love your reaction to Floyd Big up lads x
Boys, I've hoped for months you'd do this. It's both brilliant and heart-breaking at the same time since it really is their last appearance together (RIP Richard). But boy, what a way to underline your careers. Thanks PF for the music. BTW...look closely at drummer Nick Mason at the solo in Comfortably Numb...he takes his headphones off to hear it as the audience are, being the last performance together.
Shine on you crazy Diamond Live 1990
Thank Pink Floyd for existing in my life
When is Old-Timers tell you that Pink Floyd is the best band ever is because this was psychedelic rock and roll to us and we didn't know any better. BTW we were there
I always thought that little look Gilmour gave Nick when Roger started singing on Wish You Were Here, was like “yeah this guy still can’t sing for shit!” But that’s probably just me being an arsehole! Great reaction guys ❤️
I concur Mr. Arsehole🤔
maybe he not got so good voice but its still unique and adds something, but guess hes better at writing songs.
when I see their concerts it's the only time I wish I was 20 years older to be able to go there
On the planet Earth are two phenomenal bands Queen and Pink Floyd ( it's my opinion)💛💛
Happy to see you saw my comment. 😉
Gilmour is playing with his Fender Stratocaster.
His Black Strat is his favorite and it was modified for him from Fender.
After Roger left Pink floyd, unfortunally to me, I never fully enjoin again the live performances of Confortably Numb. Without Roger in the role of Pink... it's simply not the same.
And, as their albuns were a story, to me, they shouldn't play only some songs; to be truthly to their own criation, they should play their full albuns!
Rock forever and greatings from Portugal
So, this live performance was really a fantastic dream to me!
Thank for your reaction and for sharing it with the world
fearless pink floyd
Really great of you guys to react to this particular set. I've followed them for over 40 years, their music never tires. Absolute Masters of their craft, a very emotional concert. Keep up the great reactions!
The old saying what do kids ask for Xmas a guitar and what do guitars ask for Xmas ..David Gilmour
You two choke me up...! I watch you and I get all emotional as well..There were tears in my eyes at the end of that spectacular reunion..I'm sad that I had no idea this happened 80 miles away from me in London 2005.. If I had known I would have gone to it. Nothing would have kept me away from it..Pink Floyd rocks..🥳
Oh. Pink Floyd completely caught your heart.
I'm so glad.
Global petition for Pink floyd reunion.
Four guys standing together on stage was one of the most iconic images of 2005. It's sad that less than a week after this event, London was hit by a pretty major terrorism incident and 52 people lost their lives and over 700 people injured. The good and the bad in such a very short space of time.
I cried that night. 🎸❤
In a 100 years. Do you think people could still be Pink floyd fans?
AAAAA I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!! Love you guys!!
Comfortably Numb... Nick rips off his headphones 😁
Thank God that David's voice is spot on after 40+ years!
Solo gracias! Sin palabras
Did the director and cameramen know that Richard Wright was actually in the band? I think I spotted him twice throughout the whole thing
hey guys, i'm originally from georgia as well. just wanted to tell you that you have a very good taste in music.
I watched this live on the internet, which was like a big thing back then.
You GEORGIA BRO's are always on My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my mind - when it comes to great music.
Siete dei grandi!!!
Love you guys for doing so much Pink Floyd. It gets right down to your being....
More Pink Floyd, please!
Greeting from Argentina!
There simply are no words to describe the joy of seeing them playing together again simply the best of any band ever and I am a beatles fanatic but they outshine all the rest for the feeling in my heart and soul emotionally no one moves me more
Thanks for doing this! 🔥🎶🔥
Didn't manage to get tickets, so stood by the fence of Hyde Park with hundreds of others listening
I saw it live. There were so many rumors around. Will Roger really join? Will even Syd come? And then they came up and I was crying through the full show of them. As a long time Pink Floyd lover I could not imagine to see Gilmour and Waters again on the same stage. It was so emotional.
Watching it live the first time was chills the whole time... Of course, getting to see The Wall live in 2012 was even more incredible...
un-fucking-believable. this is the first time i've watched since the original airing....watching this when it happened had me in tears the whole time. this was no different. they are all talents in their own right, but together.....amazing. i sure wish roger and dave could put aside their differences and make music but...
Great review & reaction, as always! Long Live The Floyd!
Another great live solo to check out is Chicago at Tanglewood 25 or 6 to 4. Maybe not Gilmour great, but very good... if you haven't checked that one already. Great job guys! 😊
I effin love you guys!!!❤❤❤❤ George you are just like me man I’m always goin on a new trip when I here Floyd !! And for all who do the reaction to the video PLEASE WAIT TO AFTER THE MAIN PART ALL THIER SONGS THAT WOULD BE AFTER THE EFFIN SOLO FOR GODS SAKE JUST FOR ONCE SOMEONE LISETO US FLOYD FANS ESPECIALLY ME AL BOUT THE MUSIC
I assume you don't mean that these guys go on during the solos?
You must do a video for live in Mexico from Rodger waters. Trust me. It's my favorite band. Live in Mexico is unreal.
I had tears in my eyes seeing them together was beautiful i wish my favorite uncle who introduced me too pink Floyd was here to watch this with me i just not the same without Roger is it not right!
Thanks Gentlmen!!
If you ever feel like doing one more version of Comfortably Numb, you should check out David Gilmour and Richard Wright featuring David Bowie. It was one of Bowie's last live appearances.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Music is EVERYTHING &
Age is just a number.
Put aside all differences and come together to celebrate the time we have. ❤️✌️
And that lady's and gentlemen is Pink Floyd the best musicians on the planet.
Showing these kids today how I used to be done! Real musicians!
Amazing concert, the originals one last time.
How good was it to see them all play together again? So emotional.
I remember watching live 8 all day so i wouldn't miss this i was 18 seems like yesterday
