Tonic is a remarkable horse. Since losing my last horse and not having the means to get another for a while, it has been a comfort and a great pleasure watching Tonic go through this metamorphis from a green youngster with a little bit of popcorn in his haunches, to an amazing and capable hunter and all-rounder (with a sensitive and calm rider too). You are so blessed to have such a genuine companion in Tonic and I hope that the future horse I end up with will be as adaptable and careful as he is. Thank you for sharing your moments with him and I look forward to watching his continued progress, right into the next season of trail hunting.

Excellent job training Tonic. I love how he moves and the confidence you’ve instilled in him by being firm, consistent and giving him loads of praise. He likes pleasing you, what a great team you make!

He’s so like my 2 yo ID sport horse Ted…. He even has the same pattern on the back of his ears!! I hope we have as much fun as you two when Ted is older

I have to admit that watching your videos makes me want to return to jumping. I used to jump when I was younger, but got away from it because western lessons were more available where I lived than English, and my instructor had exhausted her knowledge. I might have to go take lessons again now that I’m not living where I used to.

You’ve turned that horse into a star. Just letting him have his head and figure himself out over a fence. You have super super hands and a super glue seat. So amusing to watch him tackle anything natural then completely melt down about a pole on the floor. He’s a good looking chap and I reckon he’d event no problem now he’s had his education in the hunting field. So many eventers miss this opportunity. You really learn very quickly to ride across the country. Well done.

I love how you had a healthy balance of being firm but compassionate with him over the poles. It’s easy to see you’ve given him so much confidence. Good to see loose reins too. I love how you speak to him & I love how he responds to your voice, I’m seeing the really successful riders do this. Great to see his progress 🎉 because I’ve only viewed Tonic from 9.23 onwards on other videos & I think the first one.
