The Almanac is a thematic continuation of our 2013 EP "Excipio". It follows an unnamed traveler as he journeys through time and space. It is a story of discovery, humility, and rebirth.
The language, "Alunea" was written specifically for this album by singer Mark Garrett (Kardavox Academy).

Thank you for listening to our music!
We've got a new album in the works that you can listen to right now!

I cannot put my feelings into words. This is just utterly amazing music. Blastbeats, growls, insane screams and beuatiful cleans mixed with post rock. It's like Alcest with technical/progressive death.
Wow. That's literally the perfect way to perceive our intent. Thank you so much for your kindness and comparison to Alcest. :D
Kardashev and Unicorns of Love fan: didn't expect to find more of us!
I completely agree. I just found this band 11/2020. Love it so much. Its exactly how my heart and soul feel.
@@dragonturner1119 I absolutely feel the same! It just gives me such a calming power in my soul! Just found this band in April /22 haven't stopped listening since . Just about everyday.
This album is the perfect kind of chaos, so beautiful but powerful and dark... absolutely soothes my soul. To describe it would be an insult. Splendid chaos . My God the last song on here is PHENOMENAL! Wish you guys were touring.
Might play shows soon! Come hang in our discord!

I keep listening to Kardashev it's the most sublime music I have heard in decades I remember feelings like this when I first listened to Ocean Machine. Pivotal, groundbreaking and once again Sublime work. You have my deepest thanks.
Thank you very much for the love and kindness. :)
have u heard Alcest? I would also describe that as sublime:)
Late to the party, but came up on the algorithm, and after absorbing this album for the last 24 hours, I am VERY UNHAPPY!!!!
Unhappy with the fact it took 6+ years for YT to recommend this MAGNANIMOUS work!
❤️ Not gonna lie, you had me at the first part. Haha I appreciate the love.
Oh my god. The second song started and stood my hairs on end.....this is amazing. First time listening to this band and I am floored.
Listened to this album multiple times since 2020, and I still love it so much that I can keep listening to it for more decades...
Thank you for this message! It makes my day so special! Please keep listening whenever you want!
I just finished my first full listen and now I sit here, tears streaming down my face, breathing heavily and unsure what to do with my life now.

@@BirdOfHermes83 Hahaha! 😆😆
I love how it mixes death metal, post-rock and conlang in just one beautiful harmonious album
You nailed it right on the head. :)
What is conlang?
@@engracken4743 Conlang seems to stand for "Constructed Language", or artificial language. Basically just a created language
This is melodic deathcore
this is in no way deathcore lol
So spiritual. Nothing compares to this. It is me and is my soul. I wish I could see yall live my friends. It's beautiful Chaos
Thank you for the love!
Mark, great composition!! Fabulous vocals. This has to be my favorite of all of the releases you all have. Ethereal sound.
Hey Mark ..matt from now defunct Ultraviolent Rhapsody...you and your band are fucking amazing and wish you nothing but success and positive growth...
I deal with pretty crippling anxiety, and this album is lately one of the only things that makes me feel like everything's going to be OK. Such an amazing gift.
Jay, please accept our gift. It can't fix everything, but if only a moment; maybe a moment is all we need. With love, Kardashev.
"All things that I have lost I can now find again." ;-) Thanks guys.
Well I'm SUPER late to this comment but I wanted to hop into the discussion anyway :) When I wrote that line, "All things....", I was comforting myself through a period of the worst depression and anxiety that I've ever gone through. It helped me a lot to write those lyrics, but its even more awesome knowing it helped you out in the same way. Anxiety is tough, but we're tougher
@@markgarrett7428 It is, I also suffer from it, especially for the last half a year. Your music helps a great deal, though, and I'm so grateful I found your band 5 years ago. To Jay, I hope you're feeling better!
Honestly.... after a year of listening to your albums, I can say without a doubt you are in my top 3 bands of all time. It doesnt get old.
Great stuff, just found you guys out. Big Opeth fan and you guys sound similar but different. Keep it up!
Hey welcome! Thanks for the love!
15:27 man I love this kind of vocals. I'd love to see Mark doing an explation on those
SAME! Was just gonna comment this
I can't seem to get away from this album. Have been listening to this for a month now, even requested it at a bar, thrice! I can't get enough of it. I'm in love with this album. I have unfathomable respect for Kardashev now, and I hope your careers as musicians, artists, teachers, youtubers and fun lovers may ever prosper.
This is masterful and beautiful.
Excellent work, very well mixed, beautiful vocals, ethereal cleans.
Great song structure and composition skills.
Respect. respect. respect.
Without question, one of my favorite albums of all time.
conceptually they remind me of Indie game Devs...not AAA and not popular but NOT lacking in talent.
Just came across Kardashev Recently!!! this stuff is mindblowing!!! AMAZING!! Behind Vines and Leaves... the double bass in that track is absolutely incredible!!! I cant stop listening to this album!! What a journey!
Thank you for taking the time to listen!
@@KardashevBand ANYTIME!!!! One of the Best albums I have ever heard!
Just discovered this yesterday and I'm immediately in love with the atmosphere around this. I can't wait to listen over and over!
Thank you for the love! Please take a moment to tell a friend about our music!
@@KardashevBand Done aaaaaaaand done.
I love this album so much🥰 Great work🤩
So depressed this album only has this many views. Been listening to it nearly everyday for a few months in its entirely. Not a lyric or a note out of place. Lovely work gentlemen.
Wes Thompson woah! Thank you for the comment! It makes my day knowing that you enjoy the music and lyrics! :) speaking of lyrics, have you heard of Genius? It’s a website for lyrical analysis. ;)
It's only a matter of time. I just discovered them recently. I'm super late to the party. This is music the world has been missing.
The amount of people this music touches....in the long run doesn't matter. For those of us this music has touched though....it will never leave us. A year ago I found this band and I must say I want this song played at my funeral. It conveys me(who I am) in so many ways..I would love for this band to speak for me to my loved ones as they say goodbye. Peace my friend...
this album is a masterpiece, I'm shocked that I didn't find this a few months ago.. its a truly wonderful album and I am sure I will be playing this forever!
Thank you so much. :) Very grateful that you took the time to listen! :D
I've never heard anything so perfect. I hope you guys bring the singing into the next album. Really completes your sound.
Thank you for the feedback! We were really unsure about going, "softer" with our sound, but I think it brings the whole thing together quite well. :)
You really seem to have a great sense for when cleans work. I've enjoyed your music for a couple years now but this is just on a whole new level. Not that you need my approval but holy shit keep doing what you're doing!
It almost doesnt work for me... but you managed to pull it off pretty well in some parts..... it is a fine line for me though, so many bands are getting kind of a clean vocal boy band feel to them and I cant stand it. I love this album and all of you music, but it is delicate terrain in my opinion. I like the ambient, emotional side of it though.
blows my mind how ahead of the game this band is
:) That means a lot. :) Thank you!
Wow! I know I'm two years late to this video, but this is an incredible album! This is like when I heard the new Wilderun album veil of Imagination for the first time. Absolutely blown away!!
That intro
Those words
They literally made me trancsend with emotion
You may surpass Nirvana and enter Shpongle...... ;)

I was enjoying this album. It was nice. Like a solid 7 or 8/10. (which isn't necessarily to say it is, I just had it on in the background and wasn't paying too much attention)
BUT. THAT FINAL TRACK. HOLY FUCKEN SMOKES. That shit hit me like a rocket-propelled brick to the jaw. And usually when that happens I listen back and find way more of the album to love, so I'm gonna do that, but damn, what a finale to grab me by the throat.
Yep, sure enough, I was too in the zone and hadn't been listening properly. What a fantastic album, although that final track is still a real showstopper. I'm glad it hooked into me enough to get me to pay attention to the rest too. Fantastic work on this. Tomorrow is binge time, methinks. Thank you for making this beauty.
This album gave me this good sad feeling like when you finish watching an amazing film and think about it for the whole day. I can't believe this has so little views. Amazing music
Thabk you for taking the time to listen and reply. :)
WTF!
I found you and this album... two hours ago.
This album (and you guys
This album is so beautiful but also so sad at points, but even within that sadness I hear beauty. Definitely my favorite album thus far.
Thabks for taking the time to listen!
@@KardashevBand thank you for making such amazing music to listen too!
I'm overly upset and yet filled with boundless joy to have finally discovered this absolute treasure. Bravo.
I swear I had an awakening listening to this. Every now and then there's a work of art that just touches you on a deeper level. This is it. Thank you and I can't wait for more!
Damn. Thank you for letting us know. Very grateful for your feedback. :)
YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Havent even finished listening yet and I already know this is going to be one of my favorite releases this year!!!! Yall never disappoint!!!!
Thank you so much! :D
I cannot get over how fucking awesome Beneath Dirt and Stone is, it feels like such a beautiful ethereal experience after the previous song, like everything that's led up to it has just been this incredible journey and now you're left to just... feel.
I keep coming back to this Album. it is such a masterpiece!
Thanks so much for the love! :D
I went on a Spotify deep dive months back and chanced across “Between Sea and Sky” months back and holy shit, it changed me. So hauntingly beautiful and plays in my head constantly to the point that I’ve gotta make art for it, haha. Love the cosmic/celestial feel of this album. It’s so dreamy and intense and I am so excited for what you guys do next. Your instrumentals are incredible and your vocals are amazing and almost siren-like.
Thanks for creating and sharing what is easily one of my favourite metal albums!!
Tha k you for taking the time to listen and comment! For a while we playfully used the tag #celestialgrindcore haha
It's pretty rare for an album to give me the chills from start to finish. This is an amazing listen.
Without jokes - The Almanac the best album of 2017 I think. Deathgaze, Djent, post-rock, progressive. Kardashev, I’m waiting for the new LP 🙏🏻♥️ Greetings from Russia, Moscow
Greetings from Arizona! :D Thank you for the love!
Just found out about you guys today because Between Sea and Sky showed up in my Spotify Discover Weekly playlist this week! I listened to the whole album, and even though it is only 30 minutes in length, there's so many elements to it! By far one of the most unique and best metal albums I've ever heard. I was speechless by the end and blown away. Definitely going to check out more from you!
Yo, much love and thanks for the kind words! We're so glad you like our music!
the most beautiful album I have ever heard, honestly blown away by the production, the story and the atmosphere created here has set a standard. My only complaint is that it ended.
callam opacic ...”do not worry little brother, there are more.” ;)
Repeat bruh!
this Album inspired me to make a Almanac themed DnD campaign about a traveller that brings life to new worlds along his journey and ive never had so much fun making some thing based around one of if not my favourite album of all time even going to try my best to learn as much of the language that Mark made for this to add flavour to it all wish me luck people
This is super cool! We have a dioxins in the works if you need help with the language. :)
@@KardashevBand for sure i hope to get my hands on it as soon as its available to get :D

+TheAlbinoskunk very glad to hear. :)
This album takes you to an all other level, this is a musical journey and experience that I wish I discoverd way before. The sound of this band is so unique bringing angelic cleans part with evil blast beats together. Love your job guys !
Thank you so very much for taking the time to listen! :D
BEST BAND EVER.
I want to officially apologize to everyone as well as myself for discovering these guys so late!
😩😂
Came here from Snow-Sleep on Metal Blade. This was a great album, and an instant buy!
This band is a new favorite!! It's like Krosis with clean vox! Incredible atmosphere, intense metallics, such beautiful stuff! Thanks for the upload! I found them looking for "experimental deathcore," and that's what I got! haha
You got yourselves a(t least) one new fan, after the review/analysis of Snow-Sleep by TCV.
Much love! Elizabeth (and Kirk) are great!
Beautiful Metal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes. :) welcome!
Yet another great album. I must say I was bit sceptical about "Between sea and ski" but after listening the whole album through, I find it amazing. The depth and way the album progresses is masterful.
Thanks again for the great music, and keep up the good work :) Hope to see you preform live one day.
Oliver Ethelfeld thank you so much for the love and feedback. We were skeptical too. Didn’t want to set the wrong standard. Haha
How am I just discovering this band today. This is beautiful!
Beautiful flow! Wich is a relief at this day and age. Not to be negative, but everything sounds like compiled riffs poorly sewed together and released as music these days. Thank you for the breath of fresh air
You are so very welcome. :) Thank you for the kind words.
Please know that your music is soul scorching.. and please, never stop making it.
Mark Garrett, now one of my favorite male vocalists, along with Thomas Helm from Empyrium. But thanks to the whole band for such beautiful music!
i love your music so much!
Tout se que j'aime: technique, violent et émotionnel. Vous avez cet sensibilité qui fait votre originalité. Après cet écoute j" vais écouter Painkiller de John Zorn . Merci pour cet écoute.

This is unbelievable. Amazing..
Wait until you listen to the new album. AOTY….if not the decade 🤘
Holy shit boys. Well done, seriously.
Thank Ye! :D
wtf is this sound so sweet yet so aggressive & modern
On future albums you guys should really stick to having softer parts, this guy's voice is so amazing
Oh yeah? ;)
Beautifully mixed, every detail is perfect... been watching Mark’s reactions for a little while and now I’m questioning why I didn’t find this earlier... I love the screams and growls obviously, but like many other people have said, the cleans and harmonic tone really did pull me in, I do have to say that some cleans give me Ghost B. C. Vibes and I LOVE ghost... need to check your other albums but I’m truly blown away! Epic work guys 🤘🏻
This is amazing i only started to listening this masterpiece, but I'm ready for beautiful shits
