John and Catherine are a husband and wife team from Southern Connecticut. We grow food and flowers on the new 40 acre farm we just bought and are building from the ground up using reclaimed materials whenever possible.

That's a great idea! We really should have a wood stove around here. We went with pellet stoves instead but maybe need to reconsider.

Paper stove is a far better choice

At 9:11 - You are not sharpening into the Gullet at all. That curvature is part of the Cutting Edge. There is a fine line between cutting to deep and not cutting deep enough to fully sharpen the tooth. Hope you have learned more since this video.

Are you able to discern whether that is a shortcoming of the unit or the incorrect grinding wheel or just operator error? The video doesn't show an adjustment which would let the wheel touch the tooth and gullet simultaneously.

@@roseymalino9855 Not sure what you are referencing. the Error I was pointing out is - User Error. the user has the Stop set to shallow and is only striking the cutting edge of the Top. Set properly the stone will clean the top leading edge and pass along the cupped edge sharpening it and opening the Gullet. The stone is rounded on the front edge, producing a smooth transition from horizontal to vertical.
      * thought the H.F. sharpener is very cheap and limited in design compared to professional sharpeners, patience produces excellent results. I have been very satisfied with the results on dozens of resharpened chains for my saws.

Adjust your hi and low screws on your saw while it's at full throttle that will solve the bogging problem with your saw it takes a splined adjustment screw driver for carburetor's
