Hey Andy, I just upgraded my eachine Novice1 to x2 solid ph2 connectors & it made a great difference! Also how's my crash video I uploaded, the novice1 can take a beating! Haven't even broken a prop yet😀.
Hi Andy, in my opinion the voltage sag you keep mentioning does NOT ruin the batteries. The low capacity connector means a too high resistance between the battery and the electronics of the drone. The voltage sags on the electronics side but not at the battery. The result is that the battery stays intact but you lose power on the drone and also the connector can become hot. So while this is not good, you can stop worrying about the battery...
there is no opinion in this matter only facts. The connector creates a bottle neck / resistance. this causes the lipo to drop below 3.3volts on a punch out due to said resistance pretty much as soon as you arm. ergo polymer starts to break down and destroys it. you need to worry about this or should I say your wallet does
on 1s i like the walkera connectors i think they call them micro losie or somethink i use them on 7mm whoop with stock whoop fc and 300mah lipo with that connector more power longer flight times no more whobbel of death

Andy, love your stuff. Do Not bind the Tinyhawk 2 in D16. It constantly failsafes and drops to the ground while the RSSI value shows high. In D8 it works fine.
That for the review. I was going to buy it for the new mounted camera but now I'm not sure. I have the S version but every crash there is the risk to unmount the camera : it is an annoying problem...
Merry Christmas Andy! I just got my tinyhawk 2 and have logged quite a few hours of outdoor flying. I have a rather small yard and it performs very well in that environment. I haven't seen any Jell-O on 1S or 2S. On my new batteries I was getting as much as 4 minutes of flight time. The 2s is a nice option but I think it needs a little bit of work on the tune and a change in the connector. It has very few shortcomings and they are definitely out shadowed by how much fun it is to fly! Cheers.

Hi Andy. Thanks for great videos. You keep saying that voltage sag, caused by thin wires damages the battery, but i thought that voltage is dropped between the battery terminals and connector/board but not on the battery itself, so thin wires will only limit the maximum current but will not harm the battery... Am i wrong?

I raised angel limit to 70... I need to check my sky03o if it has some problem but on emax googles the top part of screen was cut out on emax googles.. so i couldnt raise the numbers,..

Hey Andy RC, question about the TH II, have you ever had it apart? reason I ask is it appears the connector you plug the motor into is glued to the board ( perhaps not soldered) as I was unplugging the motors they all were easily removed until the 4th one, the minute I went to unplug it the entire connector/plug came off the board...it has 3 contacts in front and one on each corner of the rear, BUT looks like it just lays on the board and is glued on...glue looks clear and shiny, I see no way to solder it, and I know of no soldering iron that small to be able to get under the connector to solder the contacts....any advice or help would be appreciated if you have any...Thanks in advance.

Hi Andy or anyone else who might be able to comment..... I usually build and set up my own quads.....However I've decided I want an indoor smooth quad to fly around the house I did have a mobula7 over a year ago but even with throttle taming on betaflight I just couldn't get on with it and got rid of it. Watching a few youtube videos i'm now thinking of buying the new Emax tinyhawk 2 flying on 1s battery looks like a smooth indoor flyer (im not looking to race just to fly around the house under the tables chairs etc)...So here's my question ? My TX is a Taranis X9D+ Special Edition which is a EU version and my four outside quads all have EU software R-SXR receivers on them bound to D16. My Tx had either D16 or LR12 bind modes....Ive just put the latest Taranis update on my radio not ticking 'eu' on Open TX when I flashed it so now I have the option of either D16 or D8 binding. I've read online that through betaflight in the receiver option you can change the tinyhawk 2 from a 'Frsky D for 8 channel' to 'Frsky X for 16 channel' so the real question is this.....Can I now bind in D8 Mode or D16 Mode and what would be the difference am I still getting full telemetry in both ? I only have one model set up in my Tx so all my quads are bound to that ie D16 mode so if I bound to D8 my other models wouldn't work unless I created a second model to bind in D8 ? Basically if I bound in D16 like all the other four quads I could then run the tinyhawk on the one model set up but would I still get telemetry ? I'm just trying to work out the difference between D8 and D16 ? The Emax tinyhawk states its a spi receiver compatible with Frsky D8 mode ? Thanks for any advice .
Is this thing worth it as a starter drone? I have a Mavic Air but I want to get a bit in FPV flying... I have literally no experience with fpv, only on my Mavic Air which is mostly flying itself :D So what drone can you recommend?
Suggestion from me and my experience is getting a nice radio and getting into some simulators like Velocidrone (racing based but you can freefly) and liftoff on steam. This will give you some fundamentals you would otherwise learn crashing an FPV drone over and over. I then bought a Tinyhawk and cheap box goggles from banggood.com and have been flying it in horizon mode in the house. I've now just switched to acro indoors and I'm flying relatively smoothly. I'm confident enough to now build my own 5" and start ripping. The tinyhawk line is probably the best starter FPV drone you can get in my opinion.
The tinyhawk s is perfectly fine of two s if you fly for only two minuets which is short but your batteries last a lot longer. Also could you do a review on the xilo phreakstyle???

Ok where should i start 1. much too expensive 2. much too heavy 3.Electrically, everything at or above the limit (motor connector only approved up to 3A) The Mobula 6 (Runcam Nano 3) incl. 4x1S lipos costs just € 67 (with code) and weighs under 20g.
Has anyone verified a voltage drop across the connector with a voltmeter? It seems more that it would be the current demand is simply too high for the battery.
I'm thinking about putting the Tinyhawk 2 board into my Tinyhawk Freestyle, for the VTX upgrade. Other than a bit of soldering, I'm guessing it would be just a matter of changing the FC orientation and changing the PID tune and other values to Freestyle specs. Can anyone give advice on that?
Less flight time... Pass. I changed my OG Tinyhawk with the S motors and it now flies at around 4 minutes, but the TH S is still the best I get a flight time of 5 minutes and can take 2s.
excellent informative review. I'm using this platform to learn fpv. I prefer to fly outdoors on a calm day but the original TH suffered range anxiety so I just order the 2 and glad to hear your statement on additional range. How do you increase the vtx power to 200? Is that done through bf?

Hello friends, I'm desperate. I have a Tinyhawk 2. The drone connected to "Betaflight". Entered the commands "set usb_hid_cdc = ON" via "Betaflight Configurator" and then "save". That worked too. Later I wanted to set the setting to "OFF". Now I get no connection to Tinyhawk. Can someone help me here?
You should not disconnect when the hid setting is set "ON". Always set it back to off before disconnecting the tinyhawk. There is some way to restore it as i heard of other people with this problem, have you fixed it?
Hi there just wondering if you can help I have a tint hawk 2 rtf kit as I'm a fpv noob and mid flight I lost rssi now when I turn my drone on I have 2 flashing leads red and blue and I can enter bind mode but cant bind the emax controller any help would be much appreciated thank

My tinyhawk s only got 3:00 to 3:20, no matter the battery. Do you have a PID dump for the TH2? My TH2 comes tomorrow (2 of them actually, want my buds to fly with me!). The AIO is the same for THS, TH2, and THfreestyle, aside the 200mw vtx in the TH2, so I am hoping for similar results. Also looking hard at the THfreestyle... I really enjoyed my THS until I broke the board...
just got my th2 . Binded quickly . Flies like my original th in rtf configuration the angle limit was set onto 60 on mine though for some reason BTW is smart audio enabled already on it? I think I'm able to change racebands on mine already . Not sure where to put the turtle mode though . Set to aux 4 and the arming angle limit was limitless

I've always found putting some solder in the pins to make them solid really help performance and eliminates alot of sag on 1S..

this is quite a nice upgrade.. love that they made the frame white again.. the black one was too hard to find in tall grass...and the leds are a plus.

Tinyhawk v1 kit has got at least 4 people I know of into FPV. Such a great package. Hope emax keep it up with the RTF kits.
Change the connector to a xt30 and flash the ESCs to Jesc 48khz and you will get about 30-40 more seconds of fun.

i would just change lipo connector i do the same with a whoop makes a big difference

What VTX mv setting were you using in the house? 25, 100 or 200? And as always great review Andy.
What are the steps to binding in D8 mode? Did you use a JR module d8?

I think it could be wifi interference. It also runs on 5.8G

My tinyhawk s only got 3:00 to 3:20, no matter the battery. Do you have a PID dump for the TH2?
My TH2 comes tomorrow (2 of them actually, want my buds to fly with me!). The AIO is the same for THS, TH2, and THfreestyle, aside the 200mw vtx in the TH2, so I am hoping for similar results. Also looking hard at the THfreestyle... I really enjoyed my THS until I broke the board...

Should I get the emax tiny hawk 2 set or the eachine novice 3 set?
Ehm i think novice bcause i only had the flightcontroaler on the TH 1 month, its total worthless when you are a bit of a noob flying 2S
just got my th2 . Binded quickly . Flies like my original th in rtf configuration the angle limit was set onto 60 on mine though for some reason BTW is smart audio enabled already on it? I think I'm able to change racebands on mine already . Not sure where to put the turtle mode though . Set to aux 4 and the arming angle limit was limitless
There's a good chance that when I reccomend changes to be made they make them. You can change bands they are just limited
