I recently purchased this due to my battling rheumatoid arthritis. Great weapon all around! I took it to the range fresh out of the box and ran 250 rds. through it with 0 issues. The ease of loading the mags, releasing the mags, slide action and grip safety are excellent for my crippled up hands and fingers. Also wanted to add that the recoil is extremely minimal! Many thanks for the great review!
I own one. First time shooting it I had two malfunctions, both related to my grip. First, during recoil my thumb must have moved the safety into position which locked it. Second, recoil shifted my grip enough to engage the grip safety locking the gun. Keeping a firm grip is particularly important with this gun.
Just purchased this weapon needed something EZ due to carpal tunnel ,arthritis & ulnar nerve transposition surgery. I only fired it ounce to see how it felt I had no issues I will be spending more time with it now that I know I can operate it safely. Thanks for your video.
Just got this gun and am a first time shooter. Took it out on Saturday and I love it. It was easy for to handle. I even made a couple of bullseye shots on the target. I highly recommend it and so glad I got this one.
I bought the EZ .380 and absolutely love handling and shooting this pistol. I’m thinking about trading my 1st Gen Shield 9MM and picking up the EZ 9mm. Smith and Wesson have a real winner on their hands with the EZ series weapons.
I love it! I had a Sig Sauer P320M18 and found it difficult to load as well as using the slide action. I heard about this gun from my instructor (he had one) and just got it. Can't wait to get to the range. Great video!
thanks for showing great close ups of the pistol. a buddy at work wants one and after Christmas going to let him watch this video so he can check it out
He won't be disappointed. Shop around for the best deal because I got this one for almost a hundred less than I originally thought. The dealer ordered a large volume and passed the savings to me.
Great video clear, concise, and to the point. At 70 years old and arthritis in both thumbs, I could no longer reliably handle my full size Ruger P85 MK II. I had convinced myself that I'd have to get a revolver. But then I saw the EZ so I went with that instead. I'm glad I did and I've had no problems with racking the slide or loading the magazine. Perfect choice for those who might have age related issues yet still want a firearm for personal protection. Getting old ain't for sissies and obviously Smith & Wesson realizes that and provides a solution that works.
These guns are great for anyone who has problems with their hands and manipulating the action. Even loading the magazine is easier. Thanks for watching.
Great video. Great gun. One point worth noting for anyone who finds even the magazine side-posts a challenge. Whether by design or good luck. The hollow end of the chamber flag fits perfectly over the magazine follower post and makes reloading a breeze for even the most arthritic fingers.
I have a 9mm Shield 2.0 for my EDC and I love it. After seeing this video I'm interested in the 9mm EZ. I just turned 70 and getting a touch of arthritis in the hands. I think this will work very well for me. I'll want to shoot one to see if I like the grip safety although I've shot many 1911s with no issues. I also like that it has a rail so I can mount my laser light for home defense....
Just got my first semi auto s&w m/p ez Love the ease of this CC firearm, got the grip extensions makes alot more comfortable grip for fat hands ease to load mags very sweet little hand gun, thank you s&w for manufacturing for those who have hand issues.
S&W makes some really nice guns. I have a 45 Shield which I really like in every way. The finish on their slides are very nice. I may have to add the EZ to my collection.
Excellent video. I have two S&W M&Ps. One EZ 9mm and one 22 LR compact. I really like the EZ a lot. Easy to handle, rack and magazine loading is super simple. Plus great accuracy for me @ 7 yards.
When I went to buy a gun,I told the clerk I was new at this and he brought me right to this gun,I've really enjoyed shooting with it,and we all know it's not a toy so to feel comfortable and confident is very important to me
I’m 74 years old and have been shooting for about 68 of those years, and this is my new CC. I have arthritis in my hands now and can have problems racking some pistols. If you buy one you won’t be disappointed. Have always love S&W weapons(my nightstand gun is a S&W 40 caliber. Great review!!
I got me one too. Took to the range and FTF 50 out of 80. Sent it back to S&W. Have done it this way 3 times with no fixing. Before toss it to trash I decided to take it to a local gunsmith. He was able to fix it. Now it works good but I lost my faith in this particular firearm and S&W. The .380 one I have works perfect.
I seen my gun smith today cuss his at least 7 times. But when I shot it zero issues with my ammo. He is a master gun smith and 88 and can shoot but he was having issues and one that I never seen before last shot ejected gun went into battery but we couldn't move the slide to rack it back. Shook the hell out of it and handed back to him after 3 minutes of trying different stuff and he pulled it back and it opened. Had some hollow point feed issues too.
Thank you for the video! Just purchased mine and my fathers, his with the added laser redguard. Love them both. Do you have any suggestions on owb holsters until we get our ccw? Having a difficult time finding ones since its such a new model.

DeSantis has three OWB holsters for the S&W 9mm EZ .. Thumb Break Scabbard, Speed Scabbard, and Mini-Scabbard .. I have the Thumb Break Scabbard for my .380 EZ. Best holster I've ever bought .. and believe me .. I've bought a bunch of holsters for various pistols.
I have one of these. The one problem that I have with it is that, it shooting off a rest at 10 yards, it shoots several inches low. I called S&W and they sent me a lower front sight. It helped a bit but it still shoots low. Is anyone else having this problem?
Yes I have one and it shoots low even when I try to compensate. I have considered filing down the front sight. Perhaps I will go the route you did and contact the manufacturer for a different front sight.
was at the range and my wife was shooting my .40 and the girl next to us lent her her 9mm ez ... didn't think she was going to give it back !! as if I needed an excuse to get another gun . slide release is a mofo , otherwise real nice
I have that M&P .380 EZ and love it. Just small enough to carry but has enough heft for great balance and minimal recoil. (I’m small - 4’11”- so that’s important). As you said, it’s a breeze to rack and clean. I love that S&W came out with this Shield in a 9mm. You nailed it when you said the name (EZ) was perfect for it.
If you think about stepping up to 9mm you would make a great choice with one of these. However, your holsters won't work because of the difference in thickness
I never understood the insanity of stuffing as many rounds into as small a gun as possible. If you can't end the threat with nine rounds, you have no business carrying a gun. The military and cops MIGHT need fifteen rounds, but civilians surely do not, as most gunfights are settled with 3.2 rounds having been fired.
That's nonsense. Pure nonsense. Do you work for the Biden administration? That's the exact same argument used by people who don't like guns at all. People should be able to protect themselves from one lunatic or a gang of hoodlums. The number of rounds is a moot argument anyways because everyone carrys multiple mags.
I have the 380 ez , hate the grip safety. like the thumb safe. If S&W came out with 9mm, 40 or45 ez without the grip safety I would buy( if cost is around the same.) My 380 is very easy to operate shoots great and no problems with different ammo. I had cancer an surgeons had to remove a lot of muscle in my left arm along with most of my veins. So that I need the Ez type action pistols. I have a CZ 75 p01, I no longer can rack, I probably send for a 14# slide spring, hope that works. Anyway love the S&W EZ 380. the end.
Shot my Brothers Glock 19x really enjoyed it! So I got myself a smaller Glock 43x. Fit perfect in my hand, loved it until I had to shoot it. Went back to Smith & Wesson.

Smith did a great job on these.
