  • Testing out the new EGO 2 stage Snow blower SNT2405 after 24hours of snow. I had around 11 inches of snow in my driveway and around 31 inches for the snowbank left from the snowplow (wet compact heavy snow and ice). I had no issue with the chute since I have installed the self fix kit from ego!
The snow blower worked perfectly 👌
I almost did all my driveway with one set of 7.5ah but I was a lot on turbo mode so I needed to use my extra set of 5ah to finish the job.
The sun came out and melted the left over snow in the driveway. #ego #powerbeyondbelief #egopowerplus #2stagesnowblower #SNT2405

Great video. Have been watching videos of the new battery powered snowblowers and none of them show a snow berm from a snowplow. The berm is usually wet compacted ice and snow and the first path through is the hardest. Your video was a good test to show what it can do. Usually the videos are of the blower going through 3” of snow on a paved surface. I still like my gas powered Ariens because it is heavy and throws snow 30+ feet.

Just purchased this year. Love using it at eco on the sidewalks, when max throwing distance isn't necessary. Definitely turn up the power at the end of driveway, but the batteries last a long time. Keep my ego single stage in trunk and use it often, too. The only issue I've come across is the chute direction controls are very stiff, yet chute still moves itself. Not sure if the moving fix will make the controls worse. It is just as powerful as the Ariens gas powered I use at work. Only thing missing is the heated handles. This was my first Ego purchase at Ace vs Lowe's (since HD stopped carrying brand). Ace Hardware has superior service - free setup and delivery in my area, including loading into my vehicle. Also found that warranty issue on a single stage was quoted 8-12 weeks turn around at HD. Ace exchanged the single stage same day - no wait. This was for a three year old machine - they gave me a brand new one - same day!

Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. czcams.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

I was getting rid of municipal snow and ended up covering my path to my garage in the back. With now all the municipal snow. MY EGO shut down in eco so I threw it in turbo. Turbo threw it so far that i had to redo some areas I already did lol.

Great video Ego Guy! I picked one up at the end of November 2020...used it maybe 5 times so far. Am extremely pleased with its performance. I have not had nearly the amount of snow to go thru as you have at this point.
One tip I may mention to others is to make sure the excess snow and ice slop is cleared away before running the snowblower/auger the next time. If you have a heated garage, it'll probably melt off, but mine is not heated. I make sure the auger is not frozen and spins freely before I start using it.
Overall, I think this is the best snowblower I have ever used. Especially the chute direction control and the height of the chute. Very well designed.
I would recommend their chain saw as well. And the leaf blower if you already have multiple batteries. Oh..and the self-propelled lawn mower too!

In towns and cities, the snow plows create those darn snow burms at the driveways. The toughest snow to get through is there. Glad to see the usage in tough conditions. This video will do more to sell ECO snow blowers than the ones showing the petite female clearing a driveway with 3” of snow. I am still a Ariens gas powered guy as where I live, my 300’ driveway and all the paths around the house and barn need clearing in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where snow is a way of life. The ECO looks good though, just needs more weight to get through the thick stuff. Impressed though.

Just looked at a new 2-stager at my local Ace. This one has 10a batteries (new this year?) I think this vid just convinced me to spend a little extra for the 2-stager. With the 10a batteries, this sucker is pushing $1500. An Ariens 26” Deluxe is $1300, but after literally a lifetime (I live in Northern Minnesota) of gas snowblowers, I think I’m ready for the switch to all batteries. I really like how an EGO battery works in all their implements, so now I can finally start switching over to all electric. Really nice depiction of how well this machine does on EOD. I'm on the fence about battery longevity. Replacements are very expensive. The EGO uses 2 motors with direct drive to power the wheels and auger. The Toro has one motor and uses the same, well tested, belts and friction disc as their gas models. I'd like to wait and see how durable the EGO sytem is because if it turns out that the EGO design is robust enough to handle unusual events like frozen newspapers and chunks of ice it is definitely the way to go. That would mean near total elimination of maintenace. And that would be sweet. Other than the noise that machine rocks.

The value proposition goes away when the batteries need replacing at over $700, if they are even still available, which isn't a given since every manufacturer is proprietary. I've been hearing the claim of cheaper batteries for well over a decade now. What usually happens instead is that the replacement batteries are outdated and so expensive that people just buy new, better machines instead. Maintenance and gas are cheap if you do it yourself, and a good gas machine in this same price range will easily last 20-30 years if taken care of, not to mention handily outperform this. There are good reasons to buy electric, value is just not one of them.

Its doing a great job -- a little load(high pitch) to me. One of the reasons I want to go to electric is to get up at 4 in the morning and clear the driveway without disturbing others. Yes it is quieter than an ICE snowblower but still! The new Toro sounds much more quiet compared to this and the SnowJoe. I did get the Version 1 of SnowJoe and returned do to snow shoot clogging. Not once in all the years I have had my Ariens ICE snowblower have I had to dig out my shoot. I expect the same of someone bringing out an electric - or I will return it.

The Max you can run on a regular 110V outlet is 1,800 on a normal 15amp circuit. If you're that concerned with tire slippage, put chains on. Personally, I'm ok with letting the tires dig, it's what they're designed to do.
As far as speed and pacing, the speeds are for maximizing long runs, which is where hydro is king. With hydro you can adjust the speed to match exactly the max throughput of your blower, which varies with depth and type of snow.
