- Bell Rogue Helmet Review
www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/be...
In a word, Badass. The new Bell Rogue helmet is like nothing we've ever seen before. The Rogue conjures images of menacing characters like Bane, Sub Zero, and even Cobra Commander. The Rogue helmet looks like a half helmet, but offers more protection against the elements than most 3/4 helmets. The adjustable and removable muzzle has been optimized to provide rider comfort against road debris, bugs and even cold wind with the separate breath guard in place. The molded TPU structure of the muzzle is not designed to protect against impact, but would certainly be more protective than an open face helmet. Multiple shell and EPS liners allow for a better fit across the entire size range and the removable and washable interior encompasses more of the head than most 3/4 helmets. A unique Fidlock magnet makes for easy installation of the muzzle and can be slipped off by raising the muzzle. For those who typically ride with an open or half helmet and a bandanna, think of this as your half helmet and bandanna on steroids. Offered in 4 color options and in sizes XS-2XL. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
This helmet compliments my Suzuki CL50 magnificently.
Harry Callahan You have the best profile picture on the CZcamss...PUNK! -Hi-Viz Brian
Hahahaha
If I bought this, I would feel required to speak in my best Bain voice, at all times.
Thank you for the feedback. We always show a new helmet on a model and in this video, we show it on James at least 3 times. It was a miss on our part to not show it with the muzzle removed, however, and moving forward, we will try to incorporate more b-roll of the helmet on someone. ~Ali
We are very anxiously awaiting their arrival! From what we've been told, it looks like a late March, early April release. You can always add your email address to the size and color you want and we will notify you via email as soon as it is in stock. ~Ali
This goes perfect with my Harley 883. Just a great biker look.
safety is shit .. but it looks good yea
Headshapes differ quite a bit from person to person and aren't really determined by location or nationality. The Bell Rogue is an Intermediate-Oval. You can reference the size chart for more details on fit. -CK
HJC has several helmets that come in larger sizes, some even up to 5XL. Try the CL-Max II, or CL-17. -CK
I have the Bell Rogue in Matte Black, love the look and convenience of the removable mask. I Removed the rear pad for a better fit. Overall very happy
The magnetic clip is designed by a German company called FidLock. They make a variety interesting tech components like snaps and buckles. ~Ali
The Sena SPH10H would be your only option that I am aware of. Bluetooth is tricky to mate with half helmets due to the lack of mounting space. -CK
You might find the Rogue to squeeze the sides of your head a bit more. Its hard to know whether that will be a game changer until you try it on. -CK
The Bell Rogue is pretty true to size, but I would base your decision on head shape. If your headshape is particularly round, I would recommend sizing up rather than down. -CK
There isn't much in the way of wind protection on this helmet, so you would definitely have more road noise to contend with. I think Sena or Cardo both have enough volume to compensate, but personally, I wouldn't bother with bluetooth unless I was using a full-face. -CK
i have wanted this helmet for a long time.. just haven't pulled the trigger on it. was going to get the shark raw but this seems a bit better quality and gets much better reviews.
Thanks for the feedback! Send us a picture of your awesome Rogueness. -CK
This is a great open-face helmet, as long as you are aware that you'll get plenty of wind to the face, and there is virtually no chin protection. Anthony just took this helmet up the Pacific Coast Highway last week! -CK
This is a damn nice looking helmet, can they make a full sized helmet with the same look?? It doesn't protect your face, which is very important. I'd buy it then.
Not easily. The space at the ears where speakers would go is not formatted well for a bluetooth headset. I'm sure it could be done, but I wouldn't expect it to be a seamless installation. -CK
I like it fast paced. I don't want to spend forever when I am browsing for a new helmet/gear, but I want all of the info I can get. Keep it up!
Hey Hans, these are super subjective questions, but I do consider this helmet to be quieter than a typical 3/4. I always recommend earplugs for highway use, especially if traveling longer than 20 minutes, but that is with any helmet. -CK
Yes! As soon as we get our hands on one! Soon ... I hope ... -CK
Hey illetrop79, these were just in and out of stock, but we are expecting more to arrive soon! Put your e-mail in on the product page to be notified for the size and color you are waiting for. -CK
***** How do you think it looks on Jason, our model? Does it look too bulky or proportional? -Hi-Viz Brian
+RevZilla I think it looks proportional.
To be fair, the chin guard isn't meant to be part of the protective design. Make no excuses, this is still a half-helmet. The chin piece is more for wind, weather, and a healthy doss of badass. -CK
great job on this, I'm hyped up and almost sold on it
It depends on their profile. There is certainly room for glasses and a smaller profile goggle. ~Ali
This lid is no doubt badass. I think one might be in my future as well. ~Ali
Just preordered matte black! Super pumped!
This was really comprehensive and enjoyable to watch. Thanks!
bought this helmet a few months ago and use it daily. I love it. My bike is incredibly loud and it gives me just enough ear protection.
Awesome review info - love the Rogue!!!!! Keep up the good work guys.
:-)
Hopefully I'll start riding next year. I look forward to checking out a sweet helmet like this. I'll be on a budget, RevZilla's free shipping sounds awesome.
Checked one of these out at the store. I found it surprisingly heavy compared to my half-shell. Better protection than standard half-shell for sure, but on highways where the speed is over 55mph the full-faced helmet is king. The open faced helmets either require a fairing on the bike or are only comfortable to 50mph before wind and noise become annoying. I wouldn't mind trying the Rogue at highway speed with goggles though, just for fun.
Ah, true. Bell doesn't have anything with both. Nolan sells the N43E helmet that comes with both of these features. -CK
Have had this helmet for a year, have worn it maybe 4 times...5 at most.
Heavy, and a bit cumbersome. Especially, in the rear quarters of the helmet.
Looks good from the front, but it's pretty clunky in real life.
As far as riding, it's cool on the streets...But take it on the highway and the front lip catches ALL of the air and starts to lift a bit..
Looking to replace mine w/ the Shark Raw.
Oh, and I ride a Street R and Rocket III Roadster
Appreciate it! Will pass that along. -CK
Thanks dude!
Hey guys,
Great video! I want to know what type of blue tooth device is compatible with this helmet since I do not see a cut out like other helmets have.
Thanks
Bane?
Exactly the same sentiments! This is the coolest thing I have seen in years.
Great review and an amazing spokesman
Looks like if you put them in first and then click the muzzle over them it would fit fine. I was thinking of doing the same thing.
Mortal Combat. Bane. GI Joe. Pretty much anything badass you can think of. I am a total fan. ~Ali
Getting my first bike and first helmet! Would you recommend this one? Id like an open face helmet that is also comfy for touring.
This guy is the best presenter ever!!!!Great informative reviews!!
Just want a bad ass helmet for a Harley 48 or breakout
I'm a full face helmet all the time kind of guy but that helmet is badass.
I hope they have this at the International Motorcycle Show.
I'm going to try it out there and if I like it, I'm of course buying it from you guys =).
Happy New Year.
Tell your product presenter there that he did a wonderful job. Informative, quick and articulate.
That would be the Bell Pit Boss helmet, my friend! -CK
Please do a review of the Shark Raw! It's pretty much direct competition
Just bought this helmet today. Can’t wait to use next weekend. Gotta wear the muzzle. Otherwise too bulky up top imo
Just for the record, my first helmet ever was a full face Bell helmet and I don't remember having any problems with it. But that was 30 years ago.
I'm right there with ya, pal. Love, Love, Love the badassitude. Not so crazy about open faces. ~Ali
Thanks for the great review, which would you recommend a better match riding with the new Harley Street 500, this Rogue or the Bullitt Helmets? Much obliged.
Xcalibur Prime You're welcome! Both are great helmets for the Street 500. If you like the ability to remove the muzzle, get the Rogue. If you want the added chin protection of a full-face helmet, get the Bullitt. -DrewZilla
I don't trust open-faced anymore. Just the other day I rode along a freshly laid road (mm, the smell of tar) and watched as a cage flicked up a piece of bitumen. I saw it almost in slow motion, smashed right against my visor, left a ringing in my ear and a scratch in the shield right in front of my right eye. Would have lost an eye if I'd been wearing open-face like this. Full-faced or no faced.
We're glad you're OK! Do you have any pictures of your helmet? If you have time, send us some pictures to cs@revzilla.com. Ride safely. -Hi-Viz Brian
No pictures, bought a new visor and rode on!
There you go. No time waisted. Again, glad you're OK and back on the road. Have a great weekend! -Hi-Viz Brian
Even if you ride open faced you're supposed to wear protective eyewear..
Re bel ..It's actually a law where helmet laws apply.
You can sign up for them to send you an email when they get one. I got an email today for that exact helmet and ordered it this afternoon.
Gotta have it. I'm loving the idea of being able to ride my Harley with an open face. I'm currently cruising around with a full helmet simply because of bugs and rocks. This combined with the t2 aviator goggles is going to look bad A
I I think I like this helmet and I like the Shark Raw... however, the noise level of the helmets seems always not to be addressed. Compared to a traditional half helmet, are quieter? At what speed will the average guy be able to ride before needing ear plugs?
Is there a way to reduce wind noise? That'd be cool if they made cheek pads that were firmer to block the wind.
Correct, as will any 3/4 helmet. -CK
Been running this helmet for over 4 years now. Its held up amazingly well, minus the black coating on the internal cheek pads and neck area has flaked off a bit. The year-round versatility of this helmet in new england is amazing (as most people dont ride winter). This is a great in depth accurate review. Great helmet for the price point. Have worn it with my Indian Scout Bobber and my Harley Ultra, looks amazing with almost any machine really. Its just got a great bad ass look that can go with a variety of bikes. Remove all the padding and face shield in the summer, and put it all back in during spring and fall when its cold - the year round versatility it what really makes this helmet worth the purchase. The added protection of the face shield when needed during the summer for highway riding with rocks and bugs, or acorns falling in the fall, is a huge plus compared to normal open face. Highly recommend it. About the order my second one, as it should be replaced every 4-5 years anyhow.
You sound like a typical sales/corporate man. Why on earth would you need to replace a helmet for?
Interesting concept.
I've always been a full helmet guy, but I have a severely degenerative neck problem, and after many long (and for her probably maddening conversations) my MD specialist and I agree that the weight of a half helmet would be a better to slow the long term, inevitable heat death that will force me off a bike.
Face piece aside, this seems almost a hybrid between a traditional half helmet and a 3/4. I'm torn between this and the Bell Pit Boss. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm mostly interested in fit and fitment of the bucket themselves, since the face shield is unique to the Rouge.
The Rogue only offers the impact protection of a half helmet, so if you're concerned about weight, the Pit Boss is much lighter. The Rogue is just over 3 lbs. If you want more protection for about the same weight as the 2.17 lb. Pit Boss Carbon, consider the Custom 500 Carbon or LS2 Cabrio Carbon. Even the full-face Nexx XR2 Carbon is lighter than the Rogue. -DrewZilla

This thing looks badass! I am totally going to order one!
We do, but our helmets are all US DOT rated and will not come with the AUS certification sticker. -CK
This is a bad ass looking helmet... I currently have an Icon Variant Construct Version... but I am getting this in the matte black... as soon as its released!!!
Need to see more of the helmet being worn with and without the muzzle. Actually, none of your videos show enough of the helmets being worn. Other than that, probably the most informative product reviews online. Thanks, guys.
I want one ,its very badass !!
Not even a Sport Classic? :-)
Great review! Convinced me to use Revzilla.com for gear. Question can you identify the helmet that the guy on the chopper in the Shakira "Loca" video is wearing? Been looking for it a long time.
We do! Please check out our international orders page for more details. -CK
I have this helmet and like it for the most part. The only caveat i have is that riding above speeds of 55 mph seems to place a lot of stress at the base of the skull. I ride a Harley w/o a fairing or windshield so that may be part of the issue with the helmet
I stick with a full face on my Ducati, but when I rode a cruiser and I was the only one with a full face helmet on... this would have been sweet. That being said, I wonder how much protection the face mask provides. Probably great while riding... a little less so in a crash. Still, it is really fun to see innovation in the look of helmets.
Broke my jaw a while ago and find no matter what full face helmet I try on it presses too hard down on my TMJD joint - causing it to ache. I of course can role with a half helmet but I’d prefer not to leave my face and what’s left of my jaw on the pavement. This looks like a nice compromise - I feel like it may not press so much on where the jaw meets the skull yet still could offer some face protection in the event of a fall. Thoughts? Could really use some otherwise I’m looking at an open face.
I am on size margin of Med/Large does this helmet run big or small? Thanks! And great Vid.
improvement suggestion..tinted or colored visor that goes up and down like my Exo1000
Agreed! ~Ali
The fit is great, easy to adjust straps and back dial, very lightweight
im prolly gonna be getting one....i jus wonder if the breath box would come slide off or come off in a crash
Hi John, we only ship from the US, but we do ship internationally. Visit our website for full details. -CK
Nice helmet I own the matte black .. Only complaint is the enamel Bell used is kinda cheap. I'm very careful and meticulous with my equipment and I found little chips in the finish the first few rides. Even if a few little pebbles hit the helmet it shouldn't be chipping so easily for the price they're charging.
I know you said it has a more oval shape, I have a more round shape like the pit boss, will this still be comfortable? I currently rock a large GMAX GM68 and it really fits my head perfect.
Any idea when they're going to let you guys sell them? It says they're still on pre-order. Can't wait to get mine!
Yeah, he says in the clip that the muzzle isn't protective for crashes, but more for rocks, debris, etc. Does look cool though.
Not a half-helmet guy really...but man that thing is cool.
Not really. This is basically an open face helmet, so wind noise is definitely expected. -CK
Are all the badges removable? I like a clean helmet with not badges or dot stickers all over it. If they are I'm 100% sold and I will be picking one up. I already ride with a bandana and a 3/4 so this would be ideal and a time saver to get up and go.
great for the summer
Would a bluetooth intercom system work well with this helmet? I know it does have the pockets for the speakers but do you think (or can you test) to see if the wind noise would be a problem since it is technically a half helmet? Thank you!
I wish you the rogue could somehow be incorporated with the DLX, meaning when the bane mask is off, its more of a half than 3/4 without the molding. Anyone know of any other helmets on the market like I've described?
Best reviews
Thanks
This will look amazing on my Vrod Muscle
I love that helmet shape, is there one without the muzzle and the shroud? Just a half helmet but in that style/shape?
No, but the muzzle is removable, so that's the closest you'll get to that look. -DrewZilla
great helmet rogue bell hope to get one soon
Reminds me of killzone
You guys are out of stock of the matte black medium. Any ideas when back in stock?
I'm looking at bluetooth headset for mine, I love the idea of mounting my Sena 10c on the side, it makes it look like a combat device but placement is a bit tricky. Has anyone managed to get the Sena SPH10H to work with this? I'd be interested to see how it looks if possible too
The matte black matches my new Road Glide. FNA
wow you have a road glide your so lucky dude
Is this available in the UK? I cannot see on the site where shipping is available
Hey RevZilla!! Do you have OR stock the Scorpion eXo 500 helmet?? PLEASE RESPOND!!!!!
Just bought this helmet and I love it!
does it make a lot of wind noise from the front vents?
Less so than an open face helmet, but you'll get noise for sure. -CK
