    So, if a thief knows to look under the side cover to see if that plug is in the factory location. And if it's not, they know the siren is there and know what to unplug. I watched a video by Opa's Garage and his siren seems like a better idea AND it's cheaper!!! Although it takes more time and effort to install. But it's cool that your video shows how to stop that stupid chirp!

    Hi. Great video. I bought a brand new 2022 Road Glide Limited last summer and was told it had an alarm on it, which I said was fine. So after a few days of driving, I tried to get it to make chrip. But discovered that something was wrong. I contacted my dealer and was told that there was only a silent alarm on it. They said that HD stopped delivering alarms in 2020 or 2021. Then I was pissed!! So I ended up having to buy an alarm and install it myself. And thanks for the video. I haven't fitted the alarm yet, as the bike is still in winter storage. But I will watch the video several times before I will assemble.

    Thanks for the video buddy,
    Works 💯
    I was so pissed off with the H-D dealer, took my bike in for 5k service and just found out that my siren wasn’t chirping. Thank you
    I just got the chirp back
    I don’t understand why dealers do that
    $129.00 an hour for that
    Thanks again

    Personally I like the chirp.. it gives me assurance it is armed or disarmed..

  • @MinnowMoto

    That is a pretty cool upgrade. Especially if you want an alarm. Plug and play. I do appreciate when manufactures build in little hacks like the chirp killer. Little things like that do not need to clog up the service department. Ride safe!

    PERFECT, been trying to do it per the manual which says once the red light turns off turn the switch and once light goes off turn the switch 3x never worked. did the 1 thousand 1 count and works 1st time. ! awesome.

    I think the instructions say to put the siren speaker facing down.

    If you are not going to use the antenna/pager feature, why not just buy the siren 1 and save some money?

    Another stupid question. When you turn the chirp off and you move the bike does the alarm go off or turning the chirp off turns everything off?

    • @withPercy
      @withPercy  Před rokem +1

      Not a stupid question at all. Yes… the alarm still sounds with the chirp off.

    • @withPercy

      No. The security system is stock on the bikes. The siren has to be added.

    Great video. I have a 2011 RK. I took the side panel off. Mine is different. It does look like I have that plug. It’s just in a different location. I went onto Harleys site and it supposedly works on my 2011 so am going to give it a try. Would be nice if it sent a alert to our phone! I never understood why there wasn’t a actual siren.

      On your RK, if your bike don't blink you'll need the TSSM module before you install the siren.

    Does the alarm still blasts when the chirp is off?

      Yes, it does. The chirp you’re turning off is just the armed/unarmed notification.

    This is probably a stupid question but when the alarm goes off but you don't have the pager how do you shut the alarm off? By putting the key in the ignition?

  • @jimeasley6829
    @jimeasley6829 Před 7 měsíci

    Just FYI, when you disconnect the battery, it screams to let you know.

    So the only advantage of I vs II is the ability to turn on/off the chirp??

    • @withPercy
      @withPercy  Před 2 lety

      I'm not sure. Can't you turn the chirp off on the I? I would think you'd be able to but I've never had that one.

    Hello. I have a 2022 Road Glide Limited that I bought new last year. It had a quiet alarm, only warning lights that flashed. Then I bought an alarm which I installed today. I switched the ignition on, took out the main fuse, fitted the alarm box as I have been told, then put the main fuse in and switched the ignition off. Then I turned on the ignition and started the bike. But why does the check engine light come on in the speedometer (not on the screen) after the engine is running? It usually goes out when the oil light goes out. How do I turn off the check engine light? Thanks for reply.

    got a question - i just installed the siren on my 2021 rgs. it all went together fine. like you said simple. now to test i just rocked the bike some and really nothing happened. i turned the switch on and really nothing happened. if i really move it i get one big siren whale and that is it. i noticed on yours it did that twice then did it continuously. just curious why mine is not doing that. i did notice though if i removed the fuse the alarm goes off crazy like yours did. any info would be appreciated. thanks

    It does not make sense to me to pull the fuse while the bike is on that's a good way of blowing a fuse I don't get it. All the work I've ever done always turned power off then remove the fuse. I personally will not pull the fuse while the bike is on but great video by the way . Thank you

    • @withPercy
      @withPercy  Před 3 měsíci

      If you pull the fuse with the bike turned off it sets off the alarm/siren.

    • @Chilllybob
      @Chilllybob Před 3 měsíci

      Thats not true with my bike. I've pulled my fuse a few times due to work I've done and it never went off. I have a 22 RGS.

    • @withPercy
      @withPercy  Před 3 měsíci

      @Chilllybob The siren in my ‘21 goes off 100% of the time if I pull the fuse without first turning the ignition on. Many others have documented the same thing.
