- Surprise, surprise! Here it is everyone!! XD :D I promised I'd upload the video of our real-life backyard golf course and here it is!!
The course is about 10 holes altogether, took about 2 years to build (From September 2011 to September 2013) with occasional maintenance afterwards. Each hole has a unique name that I displayed in the video but didn't say aloud cause I forgot. :P Overall it only cost us about $260 ish to build and that was only for the carpet, carpet glue, screws, drill bits, putters and balls. All the wood and PVC pipes and things we got from scrap heaps people dumped or advertised on craigslist or random things we had lying around. :) My 2 little brothers are the demonstrators of this course and I must say an extreme thank-you to everyone who helped me with this project:
Zach, my best friend, helped tremendously on starting and completing this long, tedious, fun, strenuous, incredibly unusual project. He did a lot of construction, ideas, brainstorming, and testing with me.
Emily: Another one of my close friends (who used to be my girlfriend :( , but we're still friends:) ) , she wasn't able to come by as often to help, but when she did, she had a lot of fun and fantastic times learning how to build with us and the skills required in construction.
My entire family: My parents for coming up with a lot of the design and ideas and really encouraged me to start it and also helped build it quite a bit. My brothers play tested and built what they could with their limited experience and focus. And especially my cousins, Blake and Grant and their mom, Aunt Gloria, they had a blast with this and really enjoyed building the holes.
Kadyn: My brother's neighbor friend, he helped play test the holes and occasionally helped with other tasks.
And thanks all you subscribers and people on the e-net and CZcams for being supportive and extremely patient as I found some time to fit recording this into our busy schedule as we moved, and more things were demanding my attention. :)

That is one good full-size, mini golf course. You even used your connects pieces for the windmill portion
Yep! Sadly we've since moved and had to take it down, but we learned a lot for next time ^^
Wow I could never be this creative 👏🏻👏🏻
You should charge people to play on that course that's how good you did!
Yea I Agree!
ColoradoContraptions on hole 10 for the half loop make two long triangle boards and put them underneath the platform to meet up with the loop so it is faster to beat the hole:)
I first seen this a long time ago and I just realized that there are adults now
Very creative, nice job boys
On the holes with the smaller holes in them, hammer the area around them to make a small dip. This should make it a little easier.
Another way you could make the holes is build square panels that have different obstacles and one panel with a hole so you could rearrange the panels and make different holes. Cool course btw
WOW! that is really cool! wish i had a good garden layout like yours!
Thanks! Lol, it technically isn't a garden... Before we put that golf course in it was just a dirt yard! XD But yes, it definitely made everything cooler and nicer when we put that in. :D
This course looks cool.
I even got my hole into a game.
The info is on my video list.
Such a cool golf course :)
i am a mini golf super fan, and I LOVE this.
Thanks! :D
ColoradoContraptions your welcome!!!
This was surprisingly entertaining I watched all 37 minutes. Good recording also, most people would just upload a vertical shakey camera the whole video and nice editing 10/10.
+zdog 240 Thanks! I've definitely been working on improving my editing skills. It takes a while to get it just right though. :)
Hey my friend I just recently made a temporary mini golf course in my yard similar to the type that you originally did with the 4 holes except I made 9 holes. And yes it is temporary and will put it away when the weather gets bad but yeah if you're interested I can video tape the course and show you what I came up with. I will plan to post it on my CZcams channel.
Ooooh! That's awesome! I'd love to see it!
@@ScarletFury Ok the first video of it is already up and I am currently in the process of uploading the 2nd video which is the playthrough of the course. It might be already up now by the time you see this message so when you are able to go ahead and check it out!
That's great!
You should make a hole that there is a tunnel you have to hit it under and get it in the hole.
Wow if that's all made by you that's really cool
If this is still in existence I would suggest some hole signs with numbers other then that it's awesome!
K'nexBot Yep! I actually did add those a bit later, it definitely needed them. :)
+ColoradoContraptions good I really wanna do a DYI project where I build something but I don't know what and my neighbor hood sucks we can't do fun stuff like build a huge thing in the hard or a fence of anything so I'm limited to indoors unless I do it on the drive way but well cars go there!
golf is awesome
i love it love maddie
that's really cool
+Calvin Evans Thanks! :)
But still good nice job at making it
Wonder if it still holds up today...
Yeeeeaaaah.... Unfortunately it didn't. We did have to take it down. I think if we'd designed it with more regular maintenance in mind it would've lasted longer.
for the windmill u should add another motor :)
+ethan demelo I actually modified the motor mechanism later on and replaced it with one of the stronger AC K'nex motors. It definitely improved the performance of the windmill. :)
Cool
The green stuff on the slide would make it a lot harder because it adds friction it would never get up
It would because judging by my sort of good eye site its made out of plastic the slide which means friction travels up then hits the top which then means the ball MAY JUST make it up! :-):-):-):-):-)
Really creative mini golf course! I am currently in the process of thinking of some ideas of building a mini golf course..... Just curious, if I were to get mini golf green carpeting, where would you suggest getting it and what kind should I use?
Well what we ended up using was this green astro-turf outdoor/indoor carpeting from home depot and then we glued it to the boards using outdoor/indoor carpeting glue as well. This worked pretty well, though I know it's not what most official mini golf courses use. Sorry if I can't be more specific as to what brands, I can't remember what we used at the moment. Hope that helps! :D
+ColoradoContraptions Thanks a lot.... I will keep that idea in mind. Hopefully in the future, as soon as I make my full course, I will put it on youtube and I'll send you the link! Merry Christmas and may the Lord be with you! :)
You're welcome! Merry Christmas! :)
It's up to you, of course, but I am curious to know and see what the mini golf course looks like now..... I was wondering if you've made any changes and updates with it.
+Matthew Stenzel Sorry, but the course fell into a bit of disrepair and several holes had to be scrapped due to flaws in our original design and weathering. :( I'm sure I could fix up the ones that remain, but at least I've learned what we should've done to make it last longer. If I can ever make another course or update this one, I'll definitely try and get another video up.
Ok... cool. Wow.... it is unfortunate that a lot of the holes had to be fixed up because of the weather.... sorry to hear that. I am now aware that when I make my potential mini golf course that I will expect some huge repairs of it within 3 or so years after it is complete. That was some helpful advice you gave me there...... Thank you.
+Matthew Stenzel Yeah, biggest things we learned. Don't build using particle board, and make sure you weather proof the wood. Hopefully that's a bit more encouraging. Let me know if that helps yours last longer. :)
Yeah.... I can do that. We will potentially start construction with our mini golf course hopefully this coming summer in 2017.... we will probably just do one or two holes at a time depending on how long it takes us to make them, but in the end, there'll hopefully be 9-10 holes. We recently bought golf balls, putters, and 9 mini golf cups. The tenth hole will hopefully be a rolling ball hole that will take the ball back to a bucket that stores all the golf balls.
+Matthew Stenzel Awesome!! Can't wait to see a video of it! :D
i like golf.
I'm your 1000 th sub!
+Mr Noodle You are?!? YAAAAAAAASSS! XD THANK YOU! I'll upload that music as soon as I'm done with school today! :3 :D
I remember helping build this. Never got past hole 8 :(
Yeah.... you know if you wanted to help on any other projects feel free to call/message me! I'd be excited to have you help more, and honestly wish you could've helped us finish this up. :)
Thanks
Thanks
Finally! Oh and first if anyone cares.
The "testers"sound like the chipmunks
You should make the holes bigger
That is definitely one of the design improvements I'd implement if I were to tackle a similar project again, good point. :)
2019 anyone
at 30:38 he said daang ittttttt and threw his golf ball
1,125th Sub
Thank you so much! :D
Your welcome :)
Also I like the concept of a homemade golf course.
Did anyone notice his hard breathing?
Im your 900 sub
YAAAAASSS You indeed are!! Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!! xD /)
Who won?
I don't know.... I didn't keep track here. :P I just wanted to demonstrate the holes and get the video done ASAP before I forgot again. :)
I love cats.
+James Ackley So do I. :)
I'm glad you do, ColoradoContrapions.
i whant one love maddie
this is easy
My name is seth😱 there can only be one!!😡🔪
Why is his voice so high
Wow this is sooooo cool! Amazing work on it!
+Kreeperslayer137 Oh thanks! xD I love doing projects of this scale when I can.
The Kids voices are so cute
u should sell tickets and make money from this course
We do do that for garage sales, but it's not insanely popular then...that and having a large crowd of people coming in our house constantly wouldn't work too well, lol. XD
@@ScarletFury You live in Colorado?
Yeppers! ^^
Wow.. that old name ColoradoContraptions makes sense now.
@@ScarletFury I live on the other side of the country.
Could I possibly get your email so I can show you the photos of my course? I thought it would be easier if I did it that way before I post the video of my course.
+Matthew Stenzel Sure, my email is on my about page on my channel to make it easy. :)
3 3 3 3 3 3 not 4
April fools day so fake lol jk
Sell tickets and make money
this video is fake with out the varevied tick just like dantdm said
+kevin Alvarez I have no idea what you mean by that.
Maybe would be better if your testers weren't little 5 year olds whos voices destroy your ears
Iamnotapotato Theborderlandsnerd calm down their 10 years old
you buit a course but u too lazy to clean it before u play ....
It's not _just_ that I was lazy. Colorado has a tendency for crazy weather, so why bother cleaning it if it was just gonna get sticks and dust blown on top of it all over again!? xP
JACKTUMBO universal hey, not everyone has enough time to do everything and make it perfect for prying eyes like you. At least compliment him for him working his ass off to make all of this possible.
Boring
No it not
Can you stop talking
Can you stop talking
+Jasmine Deloach Uh...xD haha, It's a video, I kinda have to talk in it to explain everything and how it works, that's the whole point isn't it?!?
