i don't connect to her music but i really admire how she withstood the bs and horrible things public has been sending her way, for years! i am glad she is with us today because i cannot even imagine how stressed and hurt felt since a young age. many others would have gone the wrong and destructive routes.

She went to my high school (first saw her around when I was a freshman, maybe sophomore?) and I recall always seeing her so upset/mad all the time. It's good she seems a bit happier now and just wants to move on for the good. Wish her the best!

However, I love the way Anthony conducts interviews they're very concise and respectful and I like hearing him talk about other things.

Honestly I feel like the reaction to Friday would have been a lot different if it were released today considering the sort of ironic meme culture that exists now. I hope this interview does her well. It's convinced to check out her music and I hope that happens to other people too because she deserves it. She's so genuine.
I was (am) her age when I was shitting on Friday. I was a bully. Alot of us were because we saw ourselves in that. Like "If i did that, i'd get bullied so let me bully this person" and its sad. I wish i wasnt that way. I wish a lot of people weren't lmao. She was thrown into the music industry at a young age, and while loving music, she wasn't able to make what she wanted, and she was 13. bruh. the songs i made at 16 are way worse than friday.
I really think this will do her a lot of good. It sounds stupid but having a Fantano interview is just the thing she needs to get a bit more of a break. Her 80’s pop falls right into the wheelhouse of a lot of modern indie fans too

Her mom bought her a $4k 'star in my own music video' package from Ark Music Factory, after Rebecca saw one starring a fellow *8th grader* (!), and it was meant for friends and family, and to learn about recording and video processes (plus Ark, not Rebecca, wrote it). Then comedian Dan Tosh unearthed it from the bowels of Internet obscurity and made fun of it on his uber-popular 2011 blog, and suddenly millions thought it a fashionable pastime to follow the trend like lemmings and hate on a 13-year-old little kid, who had the 'audacity' to subject their little eardrums to something they didn't love (something they never would have heard of if not for Tosh!). Considering the dozens of excellent original and cover videos, solos and collabs, that she's done since 2011 (readily available right here on YT), I have no doubt that if Friday had never happened, we'd know of her today, and in a much more positive light, given her pleasing vocals, compelling songwriting, and amazing look. It's just too annoying to see people seriously comment on not really being into 'her music', and then you realize they're talking about a grade school vanity project, as if she recorded it last week or something. She's a good artist. People need to get over a tween's effort that released the year Game of Thrones premiered!
