The charter change during the Duterte time is really about economic reform and federalism. And, the trust rating of Duterte's governance is high at that time because people knew that it is not about him extending his term. This time, the problem is clearly about extending the power of the seating political people. And, the PI is also not truly a people's initiative but an initiative coming allegedly from Congress. Moreover, come on, any ordinary Filipino who is worth their salt with no agenda can clearly see and feel that nothing is happening with this current administration that improves our quality of life. All we can see from the start are the breakdown of the Unity alliances, the prices of agricultural products have tremendously increased, the peace and security went down and almost all the criminals went back into full force, the airport's management mishaps, the bureaucracy and red tape came back, the failed tourism AD, the numerous questionable expenses like his frequent traveling, confidential and miscellaneous funds, Maharlika Fund, the Okada scandal, etc. There is not single thing I can think of that made my life better as an ordinary citizen since BBM became the President. So, you don't have to be a political analyst to understand why these things are happening with BBM administration.

It's a one thing I sided neither.. but I am neutral to sides.. and sometimes.. problems caused more than pint of gallons.. sure, world leaders sometimes don't do much for their countries sometimes but people often sometimes don't do much to contribute more for Philippines. which people should do at least more.. and not to cut each other's throats as advantage.. It's insanity.. I already had cynical views on society today.. as I only like it when people gets straight to the point and at least prove it.. not cause problems out of thin air. nor going on some ridiculous crusade over things..

It's simple, the Dutertes just dont want drug addicts running the goverment, especially for the top echelons of government The population get it, hence the persistent high popularity of the Dutertes in all surveys. This is not a tough subject to analyze, and it does not require an analyst who does not understand it at all.

The Dutertes raised valid issues, not merely to grab the headlines but to bring to the attention of the current occupants of Malacanang that is causing a lot of hardships among the people. The fact is..tho both of them push for chacha,FPRRD did it the right way. He composed a committee to tackle chacha, first by informing the people about it, In fact even before he became president he was already roaming the country talking to sectors. And when he found out that the people were not yet ready , he pushed it aside. Unlike this admin who does it thru PI the wrong way. They at once collected signatures of which even the presidential sister attested that initiatives all come from the office of the Speaker, and that people were bribed for signing. And wouldn't we all wonder why the 24 senators now suddenly come together to stop this PI if things are on their proper places? Not all Filipinos are knowledgeable about chacha, but if you are a keen observer you can already theorize that something is wrong because many rational people have aired doubts about this PI.

So, what is it Digong, is a charter change good for our country. Did you change your mind because you are no longer the president? Yes, there should be a debate about charter change. The debate should focus on whether there is a need for charter change. The pros and cons of such a change should be thoroughly discussed in Congress and in public forums. According to a number of pundits, the people's initiative will lead to a shift in our government to a Parliamentary system. However, retired Supreme Court Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban contradicts this view, stating that only minor amendments that are "clear and certain" are allowed through the people’s initiative. Panganiban also asserts that major changes, such as shifting from a presidential to a parliamentary system or from a centralized to a federal system, cannot be achieved through a people’s initiative. Instead, such transformations require a constitutional convention or a constituent assembly, involving public hearings and debates in Congress and the Senate. Following these debates, a plebiscite is conducted for the electorate to approve or reject the proposed changes.
In essence, charter change is a lengthy process. The current focus on the people's initiative, which can only bring about minor changes, seems misplaced. This is possibly due to the influence of certain pundits, often self-proclaimed legal experts, who are spreading fear by suggesting that Speaker Romualdez will become prime minister if the people's initiative succeeds. The ongoing hearings in the Senate appear to have a singular objective: to criticize and vilify Speaker Romualdez.
I feel bad for PBBM, he wants to have a balance system and become neutral on all sides. The DDS got mad because he didnt adopt their style of government the tokhang, anti drug war, DeLima case, Pro China and Russia policy and red tagging. And on top of that Imee is still spiteful with the yellows or pinklawans because of her traumatic experience during their reign post 1986 and wants to go on a revenge tour in which PBBM doesnt wants to be part of. And on the other side we all know the yellows are hoping for his downfall.

The Constitutional Commission formed by du30 succeeded to craft am amended constitution draft which recommended for a federal govt, as wanted by du30. But why did du30 not endorse the draft to Congress? Was it because of the draft's tight provision against political dynasty, in effect affecting his political family, let alone all political dynasties at the local and national levels?
With this past chacha initiative of du30, it really looks like the rant of the ex president vs the current chacha move is out of order. Perhaps, the du30s are simply afraid the people's initiative will lead to a parliamentary form of govt which will destroy if not make their chances to win back Malacanang impossible.
