I tried to understand life in the west from a capitalistic viewpoint. Unfortunately, without history, most major corporations can’t be explained from a “produce profit, re-invest” viewpoint. You need slave labor and environmental destruction to create a system where some people fly around on private jets to their many homes around the world, while others drink muddy water outside their hut.
We don’t need “society”, we need the planet and human cooperation. It’s obvious politics aren’t designed to enriches the people or bring them together but maintain old hegemony gained through enslavement and violence

The US is starting to adopt a mindset that other countries must step back for the US to succeed. The US wants to seal itself off from the global economy and produce everything within its borders. That is fine but the prices Americans will pay are less selection of goods at higher costs. Living outside the US for years gives Americans a broader view of the World. If the US continues to insist on trade agreements that only benefit the US, other countries will slowly isolate the US and develop trade agreements without the US.

For the US, Europe, Japan and a few countries with a similar political and economic system the international trade system has been pretty much rules based and ordered. More than we've ever known. For countries with a different political system participation always brought chances and risks because of certain ideas of people's sovereignty and "private" property baked into the very system of international relations created by "the West". If the countries who feel disadvantaged in the current world order are able to create a system of international relations based completely on national sovereignty that will be more equal, more ordered and more rules based, why not trying? But that's not what I see. I do see blunt national interest, complete disinterest in creating a binding legal framework and lots of arbitrary decisions, while there is no sign that any of these champions of multipolarity does respect national sovereignty more than the US if push comes to shove.

@@careyfreeman5056 Yuan will not replace dollar, especially not in the next 10-20 years. China themselves doesn't want to make their currency fully convertible anyway because it will only harm their economy more than it helps as the biggest exporting country in the world. But one thing for sure will happen and is happening quietly right now is - that many countries are very slowly moving away from dollar by making bilateral arrangement with their respective currencies for trade. This might be a very small % right now but it will only grow bigger as the years passed by and if US continues to weaponizing the dollars against other countries that they have problems with (Whether friends or enemies - no one wants their money confiscate by US at will). Also, Gold will likely to return back as another world reserve alternatives. 'BRICS Currency' might just be a wild proposal right now but could become a thing in the future if the west keep pushing the global south to the hard corner. So in short, Dollar will not disappeared overnight, but its dominance will certainly erode over the years from now 60% to less than 20% in the long run.

USD is also used as a weapon, and the IMF depends mainly on the USA and Europe - so the BRICS countries cannot count on fair and equitable treatment.
PS. USD, like other currencies, dominates the world for about 100 years, and then it loses value - and new currencies emerge. This was the case with the Dutch guilder, and it will also be the same in USD.

A few things need to be clarified. The global economic system put in place after WWII only lasted until the 70s, it was replaced by Nixon when China deepened relations with the US and the implementation of the petrodollar. Now, if Saudi Arabia decides to start using the Yuan as a reserve currency, that'll be a game-changer. But for that to happen the banking industry has to go through a series of reforms and create institutions conductive to this end. I don't see this happening in the near future.

The old world order and its vision of globalization might be dying but the new one will be stronger as it will hinge less on the actions of a handful of wealthy countries that only represent, at best, 20~25% of the global population. These changes will take globalization to a new level with better trade and better international representation where more nations and their nations will have a say in global politics.
Even though as an European these changes will greatly affect my countries economy negatively. Especially if our "leaders" continue to undying loyalty to the US. Luckily we see more and more action from citizens that are unhappy with the status quo that continues to ravage their economy, stability and the safety of our homes and lives.
Hopefully we can wrangle away controle from the warmongers in our governments before WW3 further escalates.
Better laws for journalism would be a huge step in accomplishing this. Journalism is dead in the west, it is now either outright owned by the ultra wealthy or relies mostly in Google, Amazon, Facebook and other advertisement companies that can conveniently point at their "black box" algorithm whenever you question them why a well researched article that is critical about the western elites gets no traction and no ads. Do it too often and you will simply not have the income to keep your business running. It's honestly a genius way to bypass any existing laws protecting journalism.

IMF’s basket of usable reserve currencies, ''the yuan’s share was just *2.3%* at the end of last year, according to the latest IMF data, down from a peak of *2.8%* in the first quarter of 2022." The yuan may one day live up to the global role once envisaged for it. _It may one day even rival the _*_American dollar._*_ But first it must eclipse the _*_Canadian one._*

Understanding what the panel of experts mean exactly requires a background in economics and being involved in global economic growth at some level. Having a large vocabulary understanding helps for gleaning meaning yet what is required is much speculation based on rantional linguistic deduction. Nonetheless, a discussion well worth both the time and mental effort.
