This video I wanted to be a bit shorter than recent ones. It meant I could make it more fast paced, but also more polished.
Like I made and re-filmed the ending coil-head sketch 3 times hah, but I'm super happy with it now.
I'm gonna keep this shorter style going this year for a while, it’ll mean I can make more videos too.

The horror deff hits. Saw a short that was a few players debating if a monster could climb stairs, only to find out it can as it comes stomping up at them. The rest die in a flash as the creature catches up, with the lone survivor running for the door as this thing is right on his tail. He dies at the exit, and we only get a flash of teeth and a glimpse of the shark/man creature that's all mouth killing him at the last second. It's the perfect 2 minute horror movie.

I have seen a clip of someone playing with the skinwalker mod. They are facing coil head and ask their friend if they are looking at him so they can move. Their friend's voice goes "Yeah I got him." And after a pause "I got him, go".
Player runs, gets murked by coil head and realizes a skinwalker mimiked their friend.
It was truly a horror movie type twist.

The Mimic mod for Lethal Company is insane. Records tiny snip its of everyone's voice and plays it back at random times during game play when ever the mimic is near. Hearing your friend ask if your mic is on a brand new game is terrifying. "Wait, we don't have mics" oh shit i gotta get outta here. Or when a friend says he see's a mimic. and i say "cool, I've never seen a mimic before yet". the mimic kills me and chases my friend playing my voice"I've never seen a mimic before" friend says i seen you kill my friend your a mimic. Mimic repeats "I've never seen a mimic before."
You are refering to the skinwalker mod. Mimic mod is the fake fire escape mod.

Skin walkers is what your thinking of, mimics is a lot less fun and creative.
Unfortunately we tried the skinwalker mod but after installing, we couldnt connect with the servers anymore. Hell we also had to do a clean reinstall of the whole game lol
This is an absolutely brilliant mechanic. It must be made a part of the core game.
It can run fast because it's rendering on a really low resolution and then being upscaled; this both helps with its grungy effects, while also meaning that running a multiplayer smoothly is easier.
I play it in 4k...there is a res fix mod.....looks great

The caddy Jumpscare in the first few seconds both was a massive surprise and not at all, your video styles work very well together

I love the yippee mod it makes the game no less scary but a lot funnier
I still remember my first bracken encounter, I was on the way back to the ship and as we neared the door I heard a soft crack. by the time I had turned around their body had already been dragged off.
I was so goddamn sure I was going to hear "A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON" At 2:20.
Some of the best clips I've seen from the game are from people who are in their first few days of playing it and encounter the Braken.
In the way that the Braken snaps someone else neck when the other player isn't seeing it and then it gets eerily quiet and you can hear the panic building up in the person being alone and quietly calls out the person who have just been killed.
It is just PERFECT.

I remember when one of my friends played it for the first time. We all split up and about 4 minutes in we heard a faint girl scream. Well they are extremely Arachnophobic and that was him a 30 year old man screaming like a little girl.

Just got done playing this game with my cousin and some buddies and my god it's so good. I'm not a big fan of horror games but I can play this just fine. Every time I play it there's a new horror story I can tell someone else. Just this session we had 3 members of the away team all heading back to the exit. I didn't have a walkie just a flash light, so I bumped into a dead end. I then turn around to find my screen going horror mode and saw a coil head standing over my cousin's corpse. Had I not hit that dead end we might've all gotten wiped. Thankfully I was able to get back alright, but it's the sheer variety of how different each run can go down that makes this game so great.

Got an advertisement around the 5:44 mark where they were talking about the scary ambience, then I immediently got an advert for 'honkey star trail' with very loud circus music.
Only time I wasn't annoyed by an ad because that was great comedic timing.

There's a mod for some of the monsters, called "Diversity". This mod changes some of the mechanics surrounding the monsters, and makes them scarier (in my opinion). The bracken for example, turns off all the lights around you before he strikes, so: 1, you have a way of knowing when he's around and 2, you're scared af before even seeing him.

Once I was playing lethal company with a friend (who was dead) and we were both in a discord call and muted, however when he died and was spectating me he had a brilliant idea. I was being stalked by one of those blind monsters and his idea was to yell into the microphone so loud that it echoed from my headphones into my microphone and alert the monsters. His idea worked.

I think this is the first time I've watched one of your videos and not been 7 months late to the party.
But the greatest challenge of all was Up trying to count...
Tbf, I don't think the bracken is an unfair enemy. The whole point is it's SUPPOSED to be one of the only enemies not to have a sound cue because it's a stealth killer. The counter to bracken is simply glancing over your shouldder constantly in the most paranoid manner ever, and taking corners slower of wider to avoid stepping into it's path. It DOES have a fair counter. Enough so that once you know one has spawned, they're semi easy to deal with. (But still one of the harder interior enemies for sure). Like was pointed out in the video, all the enemies have different ways to deal with them and having one enemy that doesn't have sound cues so needs players to be aware of their surroundings is really fun for me. It instills a level of paranoia even in veteran players. I play solo sometimes and rather than just blindly run around in comfort knowing I can rely on sound, I still need to nervously glance over my shoulder like a newbie.
Fuck giants tho. Fully agreed on that one. I like the idea in concept of an enemy who only attacks on sight and not sound, and in concept breaking line of sight to avoid them seemss fun. But exteriors in this game don't usually have enough to really hide from them (except maybe forested planets, and even then once they've seen you tree hiding barely works), and the giants can see waaaaaaay too far, and they're too fast and too big. A giant camping the ship on a map like Titan is basically a death sentence. Sure, stuns are a counter, but the base design just seems more unfair, when literally other monster in the game has reassonable ways to deal with em without any items (avoid spider webs, stare at coils, avoid thumper pathing, bait slimes, glance at brackens, quiet for dogs, sprint when u hear worms etc).

Wasn't expecting to see a wild caddy on this video, colour me impressively disturbed while stepping on a blood-red rectangle known as a Lego piece.

I think part of what makes the story of lethal company work is that it fully embraces the concept of 'cow tools'. (if you've never heard of that befoe please look it up, the story of the name is hilarious). Essentially, theres enough bare bones of information that makes some sort of sense that players and the community can build their own story/theories around it. Zeekers didn't NEED to make a full coherent story, just give the players enough to make their own assumptions and theories.
It also works pretty well with the horror/fun elements of lethal company, which rely pretty heavily on learning as you go, not knowing whats going on, and generally making your own story as you play.
Idk, I just love how despite having next to no story its still managed to be a masterpiece in storytelling in it's own way.
My favorite part of the game is how some people saw the animated short where bracken kills their friend and they rush forwards 'give him back, he's mine!' in real gameplay, only to realise at last moment that 'oh yeah, looking bracken in the eye and rushing towards him makes him aggressive.... OH GOD N-' and then both people are dead.
