  • The Advantage Manufacturing Super Vac II is a plug-in-and-play Portable Clean-up pump. No need to hunt for adapters or build your pump. Simply order the Super Vac II and you are all set to go.
It features a capable 1.5 HP pump and will give you plenty of power for your clean-up jobs. It has included hose adapters with unions and it also comes with standard 2” unions if you need to use the Super Vac II as a spare pump or temporary pump. It also has a 9 ft cord so you can easily plug it into a GFI outlet and vacuum out a pool.
What would be some of the uses of this pump? For green pool clean-ups at service accounts with cartridge filters or D.E and sand filters with the push-pull piston type backwash valves. In my area, very few filters have a multiport valve with a “Waste” mode. So in situations where you need to vacuum to waste this pump would be ideal. If you use the Floc method for your green to clean this pump is more than capable of pumping out all of the dead algae and floc from the bottom of a pool.
After a major wind or dust storm it might be impossible to vacuum all of the dirt into a cartridge filter or D.E. filter. Instead of vacuuming with the pool system just put the Super Vac II at the poolside and vacuum to waste. For special clean-ups, this pump would be ideal.
Need to drain 1-2 ft of water and add fresh water? Maybe someone added too much salt to the pool. Not a problem. The Super Vac II pumps 150 gallons per minute and will have that pool partially drained in no time.
The new wet end is manufactured here in the USA and it is a great design. The lid is super easy to remove and the pump pot is large so in most cases if there is only light debris you won’t need a canister in front.
You can order it direct from Advantage Manufacturing and they can ship it anywhere in the continental United States. The current list price is $649.00 but if you call and mention you are a pool pro they will give you wholesale pricing.

Could you use a sand filter/pump setup for this and just have the water go back into the pool?

You could attache a small sand filter if you like.

I was glad that I found the exact product for my pool. However, the product picture at the manufacture's website discouraged me. My pool has thousands of live oak acorns at the bottom, the small fitting throat will be choked right away, I am afraid. I need the sucking object diameter comparable to a Shop Vac. Any suggestions?

The Bottom Feeder Vacuum System or a Riptide XP Vacuum.

Not sure as they come with the pump. Maybe give Advantage a call and they can send you a set.

What’s the advantage to this? Normally when you use the original pump to vacuum the water circulates through the filter and back into the pull. Isn’t this wasting water? Serious question. Curious

For clean up situations - green pool, lots of dirt. Most pool filters can't take high volumes of either without having to be taken apart and cleaned. Under normal pool vacuuming situations use the filter system.

Hi from UK. I'm looking to build similar portable pump for my pool as the regular one use the sand filter and get's clogged very quickly due to dirty pool and so want to build a portable clean-up pump like that of yours with a cartridge filter. My pool is 1.7mtr in depth at one end. so was wondering what should I look into the water pump to do the job. I mean 1.5HP would be good, what else I should look into the pump before buying it. Thanks for your help.

Not sure if your electricity is limited like in the States over here. In most cases, a 1 hp pump can be plugged into 115v. A 1.5 hp cannot. This one in the video has a modified voltage. I suggest a 1 hp and make sure it is self priming. Also a check valve on front or a simple ball valve makes priming easy.

I have similar set up but the suction is really high and it makes the vaccum line squished up against the pump. Any ideas on how to fix it?

    • @SPL
      @SPL  Před rokem +2

Yes, you can instal a ball valve in front and reduce some of the suction.

Negative. It needs water to work properly.
