- BIG Surprise for Cambodian Village Family 🇰🇭 (They make $5 a day)
In this video, I headed off of my moped to find a remote village, just 30 minutes out of town I stumbled upon a village which looked like something from 50 years ago in a time machine! Most of the locals were shy and the village was extremely unique, something I hadn't seen before. However just at the end I found a local who was willing to show me around and show me his house. He has a wife kids an baby living in a small shack on $5 a day so I gave him a donation to help out!

God blessed you, Marco!! Cambodian people are humble, hard workers, and most importantly they are kind and caring.
Such a humble experience to see how the majority of the Cambodian populations are still living under these circumstances. Bless the local man that you've met, he seems like a determined guy and with that English speaking skills, I hope that he received better opportunities.
You have a big heart to help him and his family. You’re a great person my friend.
Cambodia has the nicest people i have ever come across in asia. They are less likely to scam you from what i experienced. Humble people. Noiiice video cuzzy!
Definitely. Cambodian people reminds me of Japanese people a bit. Very honest and humble. Will never scam people . They love tourists visiting
Marco on the little scooter in Cambodia: Nyaaaaww 🛵💨
Despite poverty they seem to be very friendly and healthy. We could learn a lot from them over in the West where we are wealthy in money but poor in health.
This was great, love these type of videos!
Thank you for helping our cambodia people 🙏🏻
Hey Marco that guys wife was so suprised whe you gave her husband some money. I am not soft but it brought a tear to my eyes. There is so much good that could be done in the world, but not enough people who would or could do it.Your video made me think.
All the best to you Marco. Thank you for the great videos and be safe!
Oh wow! You are too kind ✌🏼🥺
God bless you and the gentleman show you around the village
very good, it gives me the same vibes as where I live in northern Thailand
Good for you to have an assistant for your tour in that village.
Good man. Thanks alot. Proud of you. Respect from Mongolia.
Thank you man 🙏🏽 🇲🇳
These types of videos are my favorite ones of yours. Just raw footage of you doing your thing amongst the locals. You’re a very genuine person and I can see why people open up and share their world with you ❤
Great video showing a glimpse of the lives of the people in the village.
that was alot of fun very nice people great you helped out. cheers.
I love this little town with. houses on stilts..back2 baasics makes happy & real families.❤
great video! shared!!❤
Love your videos, Marco. Keep them coming. Happy Christmas and have a great New Year.😊
Awesome to watch bro! merry christmas to you and everyone else in the world!
Good on ya Marco, seeing the real lifestyle in Cambodia ❤
Merry Christmas Marco ! Great video again! Wish you all the best from California !
Hope you have a Merry Christmas wherever you are in the world right now Marco. That was such a cool guy and that place was amazing with people smiling all over. It might not look like much to people in developed countries but honestly that way of life seems better then some big city grind in america.
Merry Christmas Marco, Hope you stay safe and keep those Vlogs coming bro.
I really look forward to your videos. Been having a rather rough time with things, and watching your travels has brought me joy and relaxation. I love your attitude, I love seeing all the different places that are out there, it's all great.
Hope you know how appreciated you are, mate. Happy travels.
Thank you brother!! I get like that too, my life is a rollercoaster of moods and up and downs but I get through it, hopefully things get better for you!
I’m really glad you get some enjoyment and peace out of my videos, it makes everything worth it ✌🏼
@@marcoroams Thanks, man. That's all we can do. Just persevere thru the rough times and be fully present in the good ones.
Cheers 👊
you are the man, thanks u bro for this vlog 💚
Aw yeeeeahg!!!! 🎉legendary stuff . Kk you make it look easy 😅one love brother
# 5 that little raft is quite good, not sure if I would have thought of something like that. Cheaper than a boat but
works fine for the area they are in. Your guide was very nice.
Priceless thank you for showing the world
Brother , welcome to cambodia! 😊❤🎉🎉
Merry Christmas, Marco!
Oh, we went to this place a few times, giving treats and playing football. Called Phnom Krom. amazing Angkorian Temple at the top :D
Merry Christmas, Marco! Loving these rapid uploads.
Much love from the US of A, mate!🇺🇸🤘🎄🎅🏽
Thank you! Merry Christmas 🎅🎄🎉
Nice gesture with the gift to the young man.
Great stuff!
Merry Christmas mate! 🎄
Love your videos dude.
Hey man, love the giving, when have you seen simplistic happiness here in Siem?
It’s like 1/2 floating market in that village. The houses are on stilts due to flooding issues with heavy rains that come with the rainy season. You’ll see this in parts of the US where flooding and marshes exist. Merry Christmas 🎄 Marco. I love how you met with the animals and children which are often overlooked in Asia. You are blessed.
Ahh yeah that makes sense man! Still don’t understand why they are not built on higher land?!
Merry Christmas buddy! 🎄🙏🏽
@@marcoroamsin some places there isn’t higher land. Take Florida for example, the flooding from hurricanes and tropical rains repeatedly flood certain areas, plus there’s no higher ground to build on. So the tolerate repeated flooding and finically put their house up so as not to flood out.
🤘😎 Awesome!
Goodman 👌🏻
Once again the guy that has nothing is the nicest person. He invites you into his home and introduces you to his family. What a great guy! He is humble and happy and a salt of the earth man. Im amazed at his kindness. I bet the mosquitos are a nightmare and no doubt would get you sick there. Toilets...so to speak go right into the brackish water. This is a great video seeing how others live and man, you found the roght person to show you around! Cheers
Did you try Kaww yet? It’s the best comfort food of Cambodia! 🇰🇭 ❤
Not yet! but I should have haha
That was shower awesome
Good deeds brother good deeds
Such a nice dude!
So much poverty in the world. Puts everything into perspective. Took a swim with my doggo yesterday , clear beautiful blue water, white sand, we are so lucky here in Oz , good food , free health system ! We do take things for granted thanks for opening my eyes. Keep up the good work , its appreciated.
Maybe they build over the water bcoz it's cheapest land given by the government ?
Totally! I known what you’re saying …
I realise how good we have things in Australia after travelling!
💯
It is expensive to live. But definitely the lucky country 👍🏻
love love you from Cambodia and love your video
Thank you! 🇰🇭
So thankful to you Marco for the money from the suit going to someone in need. That little family will be so greatful and I hope his little boy follows his dream in being a Police officer oneday. Merry Christmas & God Bless you mate. 😊🙏
Thank you and thanks for the donation brother! It went a long way!
Merry Christmas 🎄
Thanks ❤
The houses are raised like that to avoid flooding. Typhoons and such. I lived Long Island N.Y. and they have beach houses that are risen like that.
Wow ❤❤
Helloooo 👋 Ra! He’s got “hello down” 😂
Stop wrecking the kid’s toys bro! 😂
😂😂😂
Sorry to hear you guys miss communicating each other some answer questions.
# 3 did you see any outhouses or perhaps there is a trap door in the floor and that's where the poop goes ?
As I walk our dogs around our resort, you can tell pretty quick where a local has gone off into the brush and did
his business.
😂😂😂 haha damn, don’t step in it
Good job I just went on 7hour and half car drive from muntinlupa to a place called vigan
Making me miss Siem Reap mate!
It’s a pretty interesting town hey!
You are making me miss Philippines 🥲
@@marcoroams Yeah I've definitely gotta go back to see the more rural side of it!
Get yourself back to the PH and maybe we can meet up! 😄
@@TheJourneyofJosh I will be there in 3 days bro! ✈️
One for the algorithm!
I'd love to see you adopt the cat, hope you will come back for her/him. Thank you. I just become your new subscriber
because you're gonna adopt the kitty😹😹🐈⬛🐈
Very good person 🥹❤
# 4 Jimmney, i am only half way through your video and you are already answering my comments.
Hahaha 😂
# 7 possibly 😂
# 2 would be interesting to know if these area have serious flooding during the year.
Yeah they do! As the guy said they need to use boats to leave the house sometimes 🚤
her husband speaking 12:44 pm Christmas Day in Cebu. it was raining pretty hard about 10 am. Wife is
having a great time at the Casino, ( lets hope ) I was sitting on the front porch coloring a color by number picture.
This reminds me of the paint by number craze back in the late 50's. That was oil painting though. Shooting down that
narrow road on a bike I could imagine a small kid suddenly running into the road from between two homes or a dog jumping
out.
I hope you’re having a great time!
I am off to Cebu in a few days! I hope it is not too rainy
What is the name of the village? The dude that show you around seems very sweet and nice.
No idea… just pulled in to a random one
It's a flood plain area. In the rainy season the water rises flooding the first floor. There is a reason for everything ✨️ I hope understand.
Maybe try to learn some basic khmer when visiting. Like “how much does this cost?” Or just learn (riel) which means money. Much appreciated.
Good video ,what camera are you using ?
Thank you! New GoPro
@@marcoroamsthanks
His English pretty good
That area of land is like swamp land so they build the house on stilts so that when the flooding season comes, the house is safe. They likely built it there because of the food source availability and the land would be far more affordable to buy or inhabit. As he said the fish come in the wet season. Then they can get around by boats. He says the business man was from the government and I think he was saying that the rent is $5 a day so that's around $130usd a month.
The man with the music works over night and gets home at 6am and started to drink but I think the guy is trying to say he got home, got drunk, Passed out with music still on.
Yeah it’s true. I realise now after watching the footage back. I was just so curious.
Great guy and family, wish them all the best for the future 🙌🏽
@@marcoroams same! Also the running theme in your travels is generally that the majority of the poor are the most genuine is something I learned growing up in poverty as well. Back in my teen/early 20s years I struggled a lot with addiction and alcoholism and homelessness. There neighbourhood I lived in was full of train hoppers, travelers, and local homeless. They were the most kind hearted people I ever met. They were first to shared their food or spaces to sleep or substances. I hated how the people who had money treated them. Anytime I was in trouble, they were always there to help me get out of any bad situation. Keep up with showing the world that money and privilege doesn't always equal to kindness and generosity.
that guy looks more healthy than most americans
Thanks!
Thank you for the support brother!
@marcoroams you put in the work so you should get something in return and it's entertaining for sure . I think it's a win win .
@@thekernall74 the next episode will be the most entertaining!
It’s like a mini 1 hour movie.
A film about a town where tourist just don’t seem to want to go anymore, where a random Aussie roams around trying his hardest to show a balanced view and look for the good! Eventually he finds it and it up to the viewer to make up their own mind
@marcoroams hey I will be definitely waiting. Sounds like a interesting video. Thanks for giving me tip about the next episode. A look inside other people's lives is something I enjoy. Especially when you find good people not trying to hustle or get something for nothing
@@thekernall74 yeah I found some really interesting people in the next episode! Quite sad really, it actually shocked me a lot, so I had to help them out!
When did you film this video Marco?
It was about a month ago mate
To them, $100 means so much. To me, $100 is nothing. Can barely get anything for $100 anymore.
I agree haha,
But $100 will always be good to me! 😎
@@marcoroams lol. Don't get me wrong. $100 is $100. It's still good to me also. I just wish food, gas and rent was cheaper so my $100 can go further. 😎
@@marcoroams and thank you for helping the Cambodian people. I hate to see my people living like this. It's a struggle over there. Need more good people like you. 🙏
@@Kimbuja777 yeah I agree! Groceries cost about $100 now for a person for a week where I am from 😫
💙✌🏻
Why they built on stilts because during the raining session this whole place turns into river.
Surely that joint is gonna be full of mozzies at sunset every day
The kingdom of Cambodia brother
Just funny to imagine a Cambodian guy going around an Aussie neighborhood poking around..., how it would go, lol
😂
# 6 one last side comment - am I the only viewer who gives several comments as the story goes along ?
I like to comment as I see something interesting as opposed to one comment at the end. I seldom look at
more than 3 or 4 comments others make.
You would be the main person yes, but I like it as it helps the video get better interaction!
ไทย มิวสิค😊
Could it be the building is over the water because it's free (no $) land?
Dark side of Cambodia. It's like heaven and hell living side by side.
Did you adopt the kitty 😍?
Haha nah … wanted to though
@@marcoroams oh Man U totally should of 😊
I see two different people in this channel
Haha please explain?
@@marcoroams is that you the same person in previous video in Srilankan?
@@ThydaCookingTV lol yes it’s me in all episodes .. I am a master of changing my appearance 😉
Did he say 24dollars to hire a scooter for two days. That's not cheap! Normally five dollars a day maximum in Cambodia.
It’s hard life in Cambodia. Most of the people land got taken and sell by the corrupt government. Those fancy places that you see, it’s what they want you to see.
He didn't understand you when asked why built house on water or slump? Because these people are so poor, they don't own any land, that's why they're there temporary until officials chase them away.
That’s sad!
I wonder how much he gave him
$100 usd
That village located on flooding zones.
Hello=SUSDEY thank you=ORKON
They live in a slum yet they have modern music😂😂😂😂😂😂 Jesus Christ😅
Myanmar go sirrt
Every house sits above its own mosquito pond! Every dog with the potential to bite you with rabies. Be safe.
You need to understand that the majority of Khmer will not be able to speak English.
Try not to objectify them. Cambodians are some of the most humble friendliest people on earth.
I married my khmer wife in the village. It's a definite contrast.
Poverty in Africa is worst
Les poubelles sont partout
Dude she doesn’t understand what you ask her how much is it in English.
those houses being built on the water because most of them are not having any rightly landowner !
Why Cambodia is too poor?
Many many reasons
This place is not like a Japan sad
