    Your video was SO helpful! So clear and straight forward, you gave all the information I needed to determine if this curriculum was right for us. Thank you so much! We're so excited to try it!

    I didn't realize Apologia had a CD! That's a game changer! I'm toying with the idea of using Apologia next year for 7th, 5th, 3rd, and k. It's a big range though. In two years I might need to split science with my big kids and little kids. 😱 That's going to be fun....

      @LifeintheMundane  Před 2 lety +1

      You could definitely do that combo this next year that will be the same span we have. As far as when they get older the older series are meant for the child to do science independently so that helps.

    That's one thing I loved about the Chemistry and Physics Book, all of the hands on activities!

    I love that they have a CD. That helps on the days you don’t feel like reading.

    We have a enjoyed Apologia Chemistry and Physics so much this year!

    I like that it's a basic intro to Chemistry and Physics, and then later on in high school they'll get into it in a more in-depth way. The 10th grader did Apologia Chemistry for high school this past year.

      Yes, I love the idea of touching on the topic multiple times throughout your education

    We love apologia science! Compared to other science curriculums my girls love this the most and all the hands on experiments.

    We’ve used a elementary physics for middle schoolers to start them off with physics. This looks awesome!!! We love science experiments but we do have a list of them and come back to them!!! We break the reading up in textbooks!!! I love that I get to hear my kids reading that way!!! We make our own science journals based on what my kids want to write down!!! We love hands on learning!!!

  • @SevenInAll
    @SevenInAll Před 2 lety +1

    Those science journals are a really cool addition, but definitely more for the older child.

    I keep talking myself out of apologia and your apologia videos always get recommended to me 😂 maybe it’s a sign 🙏🏻 science is not my strong suit, ESPECIALLY PHYSICS AND CHEM lol

    Would you recommend buying the Apologia lab kit for all the experiments? Or would you say that you can easily get those things around your house or buy separate? In the past when I have done curriculum such as this I have failed to get the kits then realize it really takes the fun out of the curriculum.

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  Před rokem

      We have done it both ways. Many of the experiments can be done with house hold objects with this level. But I have at times purchased the kit just for ease of use

    Hi, you might have said this and I missed it, but are there lesson plans or an overview of what to do daily? Thinking about buying used, but would want a pacing guide so I have an idea of what to do. If I need to buy new that’s fine, but I was not seeing a day to day.

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  Před 2 lety

      So it’s designed to be self paced. Stopping when you think your kids are done. That being said the student journals include a daily pace guide of what you can read when and how to incorporate the activities.

    We have not done any Apologia as I always thought it to be heavy Teacher Led but this unit sounds like fun. Would it be too light to include an 8th grader along with 6th and 2nd? Or would kids be best served to split them into the appropriate levels?

  • @ReiverGrad14
    @ReiverGrad14 Před 2 lety +1

    Do you have any suggestions for basic elementary science. Age level doesn't really matter just need to learn some stuff we haven't like weather and human body etc. No animals, my son is obsessed with them so we're good there lol.

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  Před 2 lety

      I use Apologia in elementary so I’m not a 100% sure from personal experience BUT I have heard great things about master books God’s Design series for those kiddos that are not ready for apologia yet.

    Hello,
    Im a new subscriber. I am really enjoying your videos; Thank you. I’m confused; there are 8 choices of books for elementary science, but k-6 is only 7 grades. Are we supposed to skip one (per our choice )or double up one year?

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  Před rokem +2

      Yes, they offer a wide variety of options so you can pick what is most interesting to you and your child.

    We have never used Apologia before but my 5th grader has seen the chemistry and physics book and wants to do it so bad! But I need to do science as a group (for my own sanity), would this book be way too much for a 2nd and a 3rd grader?

    • @LifeintheMundane

      Not at all. We did it with 6th, 5th, 3rd, and preschool this year
