Loved the review on Apologia! Good insights!
I am so happy when people I know choose to do Apologia because it’s awesome!
It's so good!
I really enjoyed this video. Very informative and fun background scenes.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this video. This will be our first year with Apologia Science. We are starting with Earth Science.
That is so fun!
I'm going to have to show Cy this video because he still talks about that playhouse in your backyard...he loved that little house!
❤️
Great video! Super informative.
Glad it was helpful!
I enjoyed the “backyard chat” format. Very reminiscent of the first Apologia science review video I saw from you
It was fun to redo this video
@@LifeintheMundane I wondered if you did the similar format on purpose
@@DebBeePlus3 yeah i thought it would be a fun throw back
We love Apologia science! I agree that the Young explorers series can be done through middle school. My son has a learning delay so there’s no way he’s ready for their middle school science next year. I also think the notebooking journals can be a lot and they seem advanced for K and 1st grade. My kids do enjoy the mini books 😀
Yes the mini books are so fun
I appreciated all the "location" changes 😃!
I'm glad! I was hoping it wouldn't make anyone sick
We do:
General in 9th
Physical in 10th
Biology in 11th
Chemistry or Anatomy and Physiology for 12th...or both
In the younger years Rod and Staff is excellent done independently. Apologia is fun as a group or independently. We own both and our children love the simplicity of Rod and Staff, and I enjoy picking a book and taking time teaching the group using Apologia or Considering Gods Creation (qn oldie but goodie).
We add in Schoolaid Health books for our childrens independent work in 5th on up.
Fun!
I agree that the updates to Apologia's new editions have been a huge improvement!
Yes!
our introduction to Apologia was Earth Science. We are using Apologia for co-op this year also
That is awesome
I am using the younger notebooking journal with my 14 yo special needs kiddo because of all the coloring pages. She loves to color. But the writing lines are the primary lines and have the dashes. So I will probably put in Pride and Prejudice into my DVD player, the one with Colin Firth, and use my ruler and line out the dashes.
Have fun! Sounds like a great way to tackle the task
I don’t like dry audiobooks and I know my kids who just do science as I require it!!! We do family science on a loop and my science kid does it independent science as well!!! We love Video labs as well as doing them!!!
❤️
What book would you start with earth science or astronomy ? I noticed zooology does not have a junior workbook ?
I recommend starting with astronomy or botany often
Thank you for this. Would you recommend getting the notebook for Zoology 1?
Honestly I love the workbooks for older kids but not as much for younger kids so I would say it depends more on the age of your child
@@LifeintheMundane we will be going into 5th grade when we use it.
Would the Anatomy Curriculum be too challenging for a 4th grader (age 10)? You mentioned saving it till later, so I was curious. I was gifted this curriculum with a Junior Notebook and my son really wants to learn about the human body. What is the difference with the normal notebook and the junior notebook?
So if he is highly interested then I think it would be ok just maybe be willing to slow down a bit if it’s too much. The thing is you have nothing to loose by trying it, so I say go for it
Question what are your thoughts on apologia math? Would you recommend?
I have never used it but it looks really fun
Does the curriculum address evolution? Thanks
It has little sections sprinkled throughout that are called creation confirmation where they point to how certain things are confirmation of God creating the world.
Do you still use and love horizons?
We do not use it anymore, not because I don’t like it but bc the daughter I was using it for needed to move to mastery approach math bc of some of her learning challenges
