    I never realized the mild similarity in intake systems of my 4age and the 3uz in my ucf30.
    I have always been so intrigued by the T-VIS on 4age, especially early big port engines, where low end power relied on the plate of butterfly valves between the manifold and ports.
    Love the videos! Loads and loads of info, often jotting down on a notepad while watching!

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  Před 4 lety

      The concept between the 4age and vvti intake is very similar in concept. I started with 4age way back and then I grew up and discovered 8 cylinder , all alloy and the 4age parts were moved aside for the 1uz. Still like a little 4age in a small car. Cheers Kelvin

    Thank you for your time put into this. Thats quite a portion of knowledge.
    I just got myself an 01 LS with the 3uz. It has some kind of problem with the fuel i think. It would start and run fine but when i leave it for half a day, then it may have (not always) a hard start requiring several seconds of cranking and also it won't be liking to run on petrol so it will choke, until it switches to LPG fuel and drives fine.
    It had some vvti solenoid related codes & missfire, but I cleaned the valve, deleted the codes and nothing popped up yet. Also the car wasnt used for at least a month before i got it, so i filled it with fresh gasoline and gave it a new fuel filter.
    Thinking about next step in fixing that, cheers.

      @@CartuneNZ thanks for your reply. I was thinking about the symptoms (extended crank after a few hour stop & working worse on petrol than LPG) and i was pretty sure that it has to be some fuel delivery issue. Yesterday i took the fuel pump assembly out and put additional gasket where the pump connects into fuel filter and another one where the fuel filter connects to the top part (the original oring here was a little damaged). It felt better on my test drive and also started right away after sitting for about 20hrs. Im hopeful it will stay this way 😁

    Hi, first off just wanted to thank you for all the info you are putting out there, I'm planning a 1uz vvti conversion on my ln106 and all of these videos have been a lifesaver in working out what I need to do while planning the conversion.
    My question is, would I be better off keeping the factory FBW throttle body or swapping it for an aftermarket non FBW? I'm wanting to run a full standalone link ecu, I'm not looking for massive power or big mods, the Ute will be used as a work horse and daily driver, so I'm after reliability, low to mid range torque and fuel economy (within reason). Thanks again 👍

      God bless you. Definitely liked and subscribed 👌.
      Actually I bought my gs430 over a week ago with these codes and will need to get it done. I'm wondering if faulty ACIS would also trigger bank 2 CAT below threshold issue or is it separate issue ?
      The car is very low mileage for 2000 year (59k UK miles) and it looks like it last couple of years the servicing on it might have been neglected a bit but it still runs like a champ in general. Although, sometimes its lacking power or shall I say hesitating in range of 2,5 - 3,5k rpms but not always. So possibly the valve needs replacing (?)
      I'm thinking if the intake gaskets can be reused if they look fine or would the need to be replaced with new ones ?
      Also - would you have the part number for 2000 gs430 3uz please ?
      Kind regards.

      Hello. Something bigger. Estimate horsepower and go 1cc flow per injector per horsepower is a good start. With supercharger then a bit extra for safety as often you end up cooling the air with the fuel charge at higher air temps. Find a local injector supplier with good backup for their product.
