  • This little laser engraver really blew me away with its ability cut or engrave everything I put in front of it.

      Thanks! I want to do more into skits. Looking back, this one was a bit long. I think I should stick to ~30 seconds, to strike a balance between entertainment and getting to the point.

    Wow ! I have been looking through dozens of laser cutting/engraving videos and your video has opened my eyes ! The moment you talked about and cut the fiberglass you blew my mind ! 🤯 It didn't occur to me how useful it would be to cut fiberglass and carbon fiber ! Really good intro with really good content, fantastic video ! 👌

    What speed and power settings did you use for engraving metal?

    Great video mate, I have this laser too and I’m loving it, I have made some lovely coasters with it,, you might want to look out for my next video coming tomorrow and Thursday I will show and do a review on the glasses I use. What settings did you use for the metal engraving, im yet to try that.

      @NathanBuildsRobots  Před 2 lety +1

      Glad you liked it! Remind me tomorrow when it's live and I'll take a look!
      For the metal, I used the same settings as stone, which I think was 1cm/s (600mm/min on lightburn) at 100% power. I may have lowered it to 100mm/min. Just experiment a bit, you don't have to worry about accidentally cutting through steel the same way you might with wood.

      Hey, I've been looking for another laser that can cut out large wooden parts, maybe 2x2 feet and 1/4" plywood sheet. Do you know if anything that fits the bill?

      Hi do you guys use light burn? If so what origin do you use for this laser? Just brought one recently too and I’m struggling a bit 😩

    • @NathanBuildsRobots
      @NathanBuildsRobots  Před 2 lety

      @@Kayla-jk7mm on lightburn leave the origin as bottom left, which was the default setting when I as setting mine up.
      The trick is, if you can read the "atomstack" logo that is visible from above, and it is in the correct orientation, then it is right-side-up and should reflect what is on your screen.

    Man I’ve had this laser since it was debuted back in October and trying to get the customer service for proper coordinates and also getting the laser to cut has been a nightmare. Maybe someone here could lend a hand pretty please!!!

    • @NathanBuildsRobots
      @NathanBuildsRobots  Před 2 lety

      It cuts lightplywood up to 5mm thick in my experience. 100mm/s, 100%, 1 pass per mm

    Hi. I would like to engrave on a black (sublimation) aluminum alloy business card (less that 1mm thickness). What type of laser head from ATOMSTACK should I choose? ATOMSTACK P7 40W Laser or ATOMSTACK P7 30W Laser Engraver? Can you recommend the right laser power or even the right brand for me for that purpose? And what is the significant difference between a 30W and a 40W laser module?

    • @NathanBuildsRobots
      @NathanBuildsRobots  Před rokem +1

      The way most Laser Engraver companies name things is quite misleading.
      40W systems typically have a 5W laser diode (typically cost $250+)
      50W systems typically have 10W diode (typically cost $400+)
      60W systems are typically 20W, (typically cost $900+)
      You have to dig through the technical specs to find the actual laser diode's output. Most common are 5W or 10W.
      I would reccomend getting a 5W if you plan on doing mostly metal, as it will be more capable. I reviewed one recently, the "munbyn ilem-gr", that had a 10W diode.
      You can also consider a fiber laser. They cost more, and have a smaller build area, but I think they have a more cocentrated dot, and are better at engraving metal.
      If I were you, I'd get a laser with a 5W diode on Amazon, try it out, and return it for a 10W laser if its not enough power.

    • @NathanBuildsRobots

      This one:
      lightburnsoftware.com/pages/trial-version-try-before-you-buy
      They make a 2nd product that is kind of like a controll box for industrial laser engravers. You just want the plain software
