  • Today we were super busy working in the yard so I let the crock pot do all the cooking. Check below for the pork tenderloin crock pot recipe.
    2 pound pork tenderloin
    two large potatoes diced
    five carrots peeled and diced
    one medium onion diced
    two bay leaves
    two tablespoons butter
    32 ounces chicken broth
    three tablespoons corn starch
    six tablespoons water
6-8 hours on low in the crock pot

I like the chicken broth idea for the crock pot instead of water

Tip: if you sear the meat fatty side first, it gives the meat on both sides a chance to cook in the frying fat. Also, if you place the meat atop the veggies in the crock pot, the flavor will infuse them as they drip down. P.S. if you move the pan closer to the pot before you ladle in the liquid...no mess! Hope the gardening went well....

Love a good tenderloin -- it's super important to have those veggies in there to help keep the temp/cook time to work out right!

Here’s an idea ?when you’re taking your liquid and putting it in the pan to make the gravy move the pan closer to the slow cooker so you’re not dripping it all over the stove! FYI some of the many things I learned in homemaking class Wayback in the day … you did a very good explanation . It turned out good for us!!!

Don’t forget to wash off your salt and pepper shakers after handling raw meat.

I made this last night for the family and the kids loved it. The pork itself was juicy, but bland. We definitely needed the gravy which we used the roux method to make. I wonder how we could add more flavor to the inside of the pork itself. Maybe brine the pork loin before it goes to the slow cooker?

Andrew, it doesn't look like she answered ANYONE??? Did you ever make any changes to your dish?

    • @TraumaMedia
      @TraumaMedia Před rokem

@@donnabittner69 I only made it the one time 2 years ago and haven't revisited it. If I were to make it again, I would brine the pork ahead of time. I bet even 45 minutes of brining in just water and salt would make this way better.

You are cooking a pork loin and not a pork tenderloin. A tenderloin is about 2 inches in diameter . what you have is a center cut pork loin roast.
