That's about the size of Whaler we used in Canada in the mid-60's, but this was back in the day of primitive cable steering, with pulleys all over the place. The owner outfitted it with a 50 HP Merc 4-cylinder, and acceleration was unreal. So was fuel consumption, wow! Any passenger would have to hold on to a mooring line for dear life in a WOT standing start. I often wondered if it would have been more fun, overall, with perhaps a 20 HP outboard on there. Still, an exceptionally cool and unique design that still serves so well. Congratulations!
Yea the Boston whaler is a fantastic boat with a great design its a great boat for sure! Yea the 50 hp sounds fun but 20 gets you to where you need to be too. Thanks for watching!
Awesome man I'm very happy for you , you got your dream boat! and it happens to be in great shape and most of all, Boston Whaler is the best boat ever made. I have a 1970 Boston Whaler Nauset and it's my dream boat and my forever boat also. Congrats man many many happy boating days for you my friend.
Me too ever since I was a kid I wanted a whaler and I will probably have this boat forever too. Thanks keep enjoying your whaler too! Thanks for watching
Nice man ! I just subscribed to your channel I stumbled across it for inspiration and insight as I just boat a Boston whaler 13 today that needs some work ....nice video
@@markchapman396 to be honest I would get a 25hp engine. The reason I got such a small engine was so I could drive it when I was under 16. It goes around 16 knots with me in the boat. But when I bring a friend along that speed goes down to around 10 knots. Now that I am 16 I am looking into maybe getting a 25, 30, 35, or 40.
Oh man. I bought mines for $500 w/trailer and motor and non-running Johnson. Mines needed work but def not as much as yours. Making me want to finish mines as its been a looooong slow project.
wow $500 for the boat, trailer and motor is a steal! Yea mine had to be brought back from the dead LOL. Finish it trust me it'll all be worth it when you get it on the water for the first time
@@oneofakindoutdoors Yea a friend sold it to me. He was originally asking $1500 but all I had was $500 at the time so thats what I offered and he said take it. Hopefully I’ll be able to post a timelapse of my journey getting her water worthy. I really want to get her on the water this year.
I was under the impression ...That the boat was Basically the hull and the liner separated at the gunnel..under Rubber bump rail....So its 2 pieces with foam in between...Big sandwich
Yea it’s crazy. A Boston whaler with all the modifications that it has going for the price I got it at is unheard of so I had to get it. Going to be a great project

Nice find right there. I’ve got a 1965 17ft Eastport. Still running strong! Gotta love a Whaler! All the best with the new vessel
It was definitely a great find and it has been a great project! That's awesome the 17ft is a great boat! The whalers are indeed the best of the best

Hey thanks for subscribing I appreciate it! Good luck with your project and if you have any questions feel free to reach out!
I have one with a mercury 9.9. The engine is small, but the whaler still rides like a dream.
That's awesome! All ya need the whalers don't need much to get going. Thanks for watching!
I’ve been wondering how they do with that smaller size engine? I don’t need a speed boat so any feedback is greatly appreciated

I am looking at purchasing a 13ft whaler. I am wondering if being 6'3" the boat would be too small for me or not?
What size shaft is the motor?
I’m looking for a 13 ft Boston whaler what website did you look for it
I looked on craigslist, Facebook marketplace and offer up. They are all good platforms to look for good projects and easy to use. Thanks for watching!
Hi
Is it 15” or 20” transom?
Thanks.
It is a 20 inch transom

yup one big sandwich under the floor with a TON of foam lol
Can that fit in your garage with the trailer?
Not with the trailer sadly but I have it on saw horses as I'm working on the boat. It's just the trailer that is to big, thanks for watching!
Man you stole that thing. nice boat

@@oneofakindoutdoors he wants 6500$ for it. No soft spots, well taken care and everything original no upgrades. Gonna have to think about it!
