To give him his credit, Jimmy actually has personality in his videos. He acts like a real person and as far as I know is being his real self. His friends act like they want to be there and they banter with each other

This is why I prefer old gameplay/let's play videos, like Jacksepticeye or VanossGaming. Not even out of bias, since I grew up watching those videos, but they weren't edited all that great, and weren't great quality (it was literally just someone or a group of people playing a game for half an hour). But the personalities behind those videos were so entertaining, that was the big draw and why people, including myself, kept going back for YEARS. It didn't matter what they were playing/doing, as long as it was them having fun, that was the best part.

I wouldn't say stuff like that is gone necessarily though. Although more niche now then it was in the past. Those type of videos where it's just a joke compilation basically still exist.

I totally agree with ur points here, i feel like the new way of youtube is so fast and inhumane its difficult to watch. I would much rather watch a one hour video of people actually interacting and enjoying themselves than quick videos of people barely interacting and the video moving so quickly, theres barely any story.
Blame the poor children that subject themselves to that type of content for hours upon hours every day (I guess you can also blame their parents)

I really enjoyed this style of commentary video where it’s the typical watch and review of a channel but having a larger topic it relates to (especially one you know about i.e. youtube) bc it makes it feel more worth while to watch
Honestly seeing a big creator say half the stuff about the state of current CZcams is so satisfying especially with the feeling of 'I can make this too' being long gone with these types of videos

I have watched Mr. Beast grow from 1 Million to where he is today. Matthews channel has popped up on my YT suggestions and I’ve watched a few. It seems like he is a creative guy but he’s so extra and overly expressive it’s hard to watch. Mr. Beast even when he is at his most “extra” it doesn’t feel so forced. He found the perfect formula for a channel but it’s not something that can be replicated like he has. Even if someone copies his style/format, they can’t replicate someone else’s personality. The way Jimmy came from counting to 100,000 to 4 million dollar sets for videos and scaling his charity work at the same rate, along with pretty much perfecting the algorithm. People can copy the “science” behind his videos but can never truly replicate/become what Mr. Beast has.
Matthew reminds me of early Airrack videos. Creative ideas, passion for making videos but really extra and not really executed in the best way.

This is such a good point, nobody can properly replicate a Mr Beast video as they are either extremely challenging, hard to fake or too expensive

I’ve been thinking this for the longest time and to actually see other people agreeing is definitively reassuring. Obviously youtube has now adapted to its newer audience where there are a lot of mr beast clones but the perfect example of how it should be done is the CZcamsr ‘Airrack’ he posts similar content to the likes of mr beast and has the whole ‘I know mr beast’ thing that Matthew does but he also does fun original ideas with his friends and has good ‘banter’ with them
Genuinely, Memeulous and the Eboys in general are some of the most authentic CZcamsrs I've seen. Nice job guys.

During the Bella Poarch video, I realised something: With all the money that Matthew Beam has, couldn't he have just contacted a company to buy a bunch of cotton or stuffing off them? Surely, that could've been cheaper, quicker, and less wasteful than buying a bunch of pillows only for the stuff inside. That's not even mentioning the fact that by doing all that for the sake of an unfunny bit about jumping into a bunch of pillow, those, now useless, pillows could've went to those who could have actually needed them.
Bruh, it is not everyone else’s job to give to the needy. They can do what ever they want with the stuff they buy.

@@sgn4862 indeed. But it would've been less wasteful. If people were more wary and careful, they'd be a lot more use out of the things produced on a day to day basis. People can do what they want with their stuff. But that doesn't always mean that what they do isn't wasting, harmful and environmentally destructive due to the left overs being tossed.

He can go buy crack if he wants to. The only bad thing about buying so many pillows is it's not cost effective and he could've just gone to a fabric store for 1/2 the price.
I genuinely believe Mr. Beast’s Colin and Samir’s interview was the start of a lot of these youtubers popping off in the algorithm. He gave a lot of insight on how he makes his content and these guys just followed what he said.

I absolutely missed videos like this from Memeulous.
No shade to Mr. Beast but... Shade. Like, him saying that having personality-driven content hampers your growth is so DYSYOPIAN. Like what's the end goal here? Unsustainable growth? Because we all know this is not sustainable and CZcams audience is fickle as hell. Do people remember David Dobirk and the Vlog Squad were like everywhere just like, 3 or 4 years ago? And where are they now? Having a core audience who enjoy your content because of you being a person they enjoy watching seems to be the way to go. Also, Mr Beast can't escape his own comment: there are plenty of people who don't watch his video because they can't stand him. Yeah, it doesn't matter in the long run as he's pulling millions of views regardless, but you can't put out content and avoid putting part of yourself in there. That's just not how it works.

Mr beast is a nice guy he even supports people who use his name in every corner of their video to get more people to click. And when then do things for him that he doesn't need just to have his name in the video and Jimmy is really professional about it.

I think people like mr beast because even in his fast paced videos he stays on one subject for at least a few minutes rather than 10 seconds at most, and he does actually show some personality and interacts with his friends, he also does good things for people. Me and my family can put on a mr beast video and say “he’s doing amazing things for people, I can respect that” and actually enjoy it, he says he’s got limited personality but at some points you can actually see it, he’s actually human. Not to say I know too much about people’s personalities, for all I know he could be a huge liar and I’m just autistic lmfao
