Growing up in Massachusetts, there was/still is this dessert called a “Cool Dog” which is a cake batter bun, vanilla ice cream in the shape of a hot dog, topped with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and rainbow sprinkles. It was like a sundae you could eat with one hand

I've seen a different interpretation of "desert dog" at the baseball once. A sweet donut-style bun, a churro for the "dog", and ice-cream for the "sauce".

The Simpsons has a LOT of unique food -- but growing up, this was always my favorite one to dream about (Marge has always been my favorite Simpson, so any time "it's Marge's time to shine!" was a special episode in my book).

I miss when you used to make the screen-accurate version, then make it again your own way. I loved getting to see how your mind worked and how your ingenuity in the kitchen could elevate joke food items into actual cuisine. It's cool seeing you bring something to life, but it's truly awesome when you make it YOURS.

Actually ... we've had some pretty bad ones.
We got cut off from the rest of Aus for a while there. Plus, as well as dealing with our fires, some of our volunteers have gone over to help the eastern state fire services.
It's gonna be a long fire season.
My town got hit pretty hard in Western Australia, petrol station blew up and our national park is gone

I have that cookbook, and its one of my favorites. The moon waffle is absolutely my favorite recipe.
All this shows me is how incredible Marge was as a housewife and cook and was not appreciated by her family enough. She put a lot if work into those dessert dogs.
