David Risling Co-Founds UC Davis Native American Studies

David Risling cofounded the Native American Studies Program at UC Davis. The program is now one of the few full-fledged academic departments in the U.S. giving graduate degrees in the field. Known as the father of Indian education, Risling attracted Native American students from across the country who were interested in pursuing their education here.
